A Mumsnet thread about a book about a Mumsnet thread “Under the Duvet of Darkness” written by the women of Mumsnet

For once we can do a thread about a new book where all the writers are actually on this very board!

Some of you know what I have been up to recently, when I can tear myself away from posting twaddle, gifs and sweary words in bigly letters on here, but for the rest of you…

Over Christmas and New Year after the passing of the GRR (Scotland) Bill a thread was started by TerfranosaurusVagina on the Mumsnet FWR board with a poem about Nicola Sturgeon. Eventually on that thread (and a couple of other threads) over 80 poems were written.

Ramblingnamechanger suggested we do something with them to raise funds to help the women of Scotland and whilst Dodecaheidyin was tempted to write to Poetry Please on Radio 4, and ask them to do an extended special for Hogmanay about our poems, in the end it was decided to make the thread into a book.

After much procrastination by me “Under the Duvet of Darkness: Poems written by angry women for angry women because WOMEN WON’T WHEESHT” went live on Amazon on 31st March

Currently it doesn’t show up in the main all departments search (I don’t know why or if it will, it takes a while for everything to work properly according to Amazon).

So When I got to 300 I thought OK that will be it! Just checked and currently we are at 308!

Any more sales and the First Feminist will be wanting the proceeds to pay off the SNP's overdraft...

@TheBiologyStupid I've already got it earmarked to pay off the credit card i booked my holiday on publicly stated all the money will go to FWS and in no way is it going to Nicola! (@RealFeminist I've used your other name on your ticket. The police didn't find your other passport did they?)

If only the luxury campervan hadn't been seized ,and the ferries worked, and it hadn't been for those pesky kids women, she'd have got(ten) away with it, too...

To be fair motorhomes generally are known for their appallingly bad hide and seek skills, so that's not entirely on RealFeminist or the police!

I'd have bought vintage motorbikes myself. They are much better players of hide and seek. And keep their value better.

Click on first thing that comes up.

In their you can change names get rid of any previous reviews or location information and see what's seen by the public.
