For once we can do a thread about a new book where all the writers are actually on this very board!

Some of you know what I have been up to recently, when I can tear myself away from posting twaddle, gifs and sweary words in bigly letters on here, but for the rest of you…

Over Christmas and New Year after the passing of the GRR (Scotland) Bill a thread was started by TerfranosaurusVagina on the Mumsnet FWR board with a poem about Nicola Sturgeon. Eventually on that thread (and a couple of other threads) over 80 poems were written.

Ramblingnamechanger suggested we do something with them to raise funds to help the women of Scotland and whilst Dodecaheidyin was tempted to write to Poetry Please on Radio 4, and ask them to do an extended special for Hogmanay about our poems, in the end it was decided to make the thread into a book.

After much procrastination by me “Under the Duvet of Darkness: Poems written by angry women for angry women because WOMEN WON’T WHEESHT” went live on Amazon on 31st March

If searching on the site you need to:

Select BOOKS as the department and UNDER THE DUVET OF DARKNESS in the search box.

Currently it doesn’t show up in the main all departments search (I don’t know why or if it will, it takes a while for everything to work properly according to Amazon).

Theres also a QR code below which should take you right there (hopefully the attached works)

Just ordered my copy to Canada! (…the import tax costs as much as the book itself. Oh well.) Very excited to read the poems from what sounds like a legendary thread that I somehow missed.

I made it worldwide distribution. Try this link it should take you to the Canadian listing.

Any chance of getting a Kindle version out, @Boiledbeetle ? I don't begrudge the £7.50 but I don't fancy the postage to the USA.

Hopefully this is the USA link. I did try to do a kindle version but i nearly threw the laptop at the wall!. I'm hopeful my sister can sort it on her next visit!

They only show once an order has shipped. All i know is how many orders. I don't know who you all are don't worry.

So far a massive 12 orders have been processed. But that was us writers yesterday.

So we shall see what happens.

Now i will admit that whilst I didn't put in poems without the writers permission, and most of the comments had permission... some had to be referenced back to mumsnet. Which means someone isn't going to be very happy.

It's interesting to know just how many women are supporting from the side lines by buying books like these.
I'm also not worried about you finding out who I am. I'm only in danger of being overindulged (if there is such a thing) with cake from you!

Yes it's 6 inches by 9 inches and 130 pages thick. It will fit through even the smallest of letterboxes!

It is a bit glitchy, but they earn out can take a while for it to settle down. It shouldn't go out of stock as it's print on demand. Try a new link code

Well for once we will know! The stats should be interesting!. Of course I'd prefer if it was more than the current 12 processed. Otherwise I'm making up numbers and buying 200 copies myself!

Please kind people don't make me do that!
