For once we can do a thread about a new book where all the writers are actually on this very board!

Some of you know what I have been up to recently, when I can tear myself away from posting twaddle, gifs and sweary words in bigly letters on here, but for the rest of you…

Over Christmas and New Year after the passing of the GRR (Scotland) Bill a thread was started by TerfranosaurusVagina on the Mumsnet FWR board with a poem about Nicola Sturgeon. Eventually on that thread (and a couple of other threads) over 80 poems were written.

Ramblingnamechanger suggested we do something with them to raise funds to help the women of Scotland and whilst Dodecaheidyin was tempted to write to Poetry Please on Radio 4, and ask them to do an extended special for Hogmanay about our poems, in the end it was decided to make the thread into a book.

After much procrastination by me “Under the Duvet of Darkness: Poems written by angry women for angry women because WOMEN WON’T WHEESHT” went live on Amazon on 31st March

If searching on the site you need to:

Select BOOKS as the department and UNDER THE DUVET OF DARKNESS in the search box.

Currently it doesn’t show up in the main all departments search (I don’t know why or if it will, it takes a while for everything to work properly according to Amazon).

Theres also a QR code below which should take you right there (hopefully the attached works)

@WinnieFosterFights Excellent news!

I'm just about to sit down at the laptop and start on sorting the bonus poems!!

And let's hope yesterday's begging tweet pulled in some buyers as this morning we still haven't got off the ground!

Although honestly I'm surprised we've sold any over the holiday weekend!

@Britinme @Datdamndamp @SinnerBoy

Because i'm incapable of not nicking anything that is left unattended I may have snaffled a comment from each of you. If you don't respond in the next 30 seconds I will assume consent!

(although to be fair you commented on a thread about an entire thread being used for a book you knew the risk!)

Joking aside let me know sooner rather than later so I can change if you would prefer not to have a walk on one line part in the ebook. apart from Britinme who has a poem as well!

Title ? I still rather like the scone of destiny… (claims authorship). Can’t summon up a poem in time!

Tempting !!! very tempting if there is ever a volume two!

but the ebook is but a version of the original...with an additional 20 poems!!

You've still got time of the inspiration strikes. To be fair I've stopped for tea. Forgot to actually turn the oven on mind! So I'm currently eyeing up the cat. He looks tasty! And a watch of an episode of a new series that looks interesting.

So, Just because i like round numbers doesnt mean there isn't some wiggle room!

So an e-book update.....

Fairy Kindlemother is doing wonders. It won't take long she said! Never for one second expecting an incredibly badly formatted word document and me sitting in a corner rocking because a) I don't understand how it works and b) Kindle hates poetry. It's designed for novels!

I don't cope well when I'm not in control so you can imagine how much fun it's probably been for her!

But she has done amazing things and whilst I'm always going to have a deep hatred of electronic books she is doing a fantastic job of making it as near as possible to the original/ give the same effect.

I've more or less sorted out the new bonus bits.

I might update what's happened since Nicola decided to quit if I can be arsed!

But it's definitely gone from a maybe one day there will be an e-book to there will be one. I don't think Fairy Kindlemother would let me stop now to be honest!

So at roughly the point where anybody who was going to buy the paperback has bought it a very handy e-book should be available!

This is most definitely NOT a cunning plan to get everyone to buy it twice! I mean it's handily working out that way! But it wasn't by design!

I couldn't find it on Amazon by searching even though it came up in the search bar, which is weird and possibly nefarious. However I found it from @Boiledbeetle's link upthread and have written a review.

Thank you @Britinme Now there's more than one or two reviews Amazon have populated the review section with a 'reviews that mention' section. It's interesting to see what gets mentioned!

Those having issues finding it it it's 100% down to the fact that we have been deemed an adult book and will therefore not appear in an 'all departments' search. You have to narrow it down to search books.

It's rather a pain, but unfortunately once you are flagged as adult content you stay that way.
