What if you're all wrong about KJK? Even her own security have serious concerns

andarounditgoesagain · 20/03/2023 09:54

Her own security are saying she's courting trouble for views, knowingly putting them in danger, that she has no human connection with people but her fans don't notice as they hero-worship her and see what they want to see, and that the end game is she's after becoming a talking head in the US, and that SFW women are just pawns she's using to get there.

She seems more and more like a Katie Hopkins type who's leeching off our movement.

I used to love her, before I get accused of jealousy. I still love the approach of platforming women who don't usually get a chance to be heard.

But actual nazis are now turning up at women's rights events - precisely because KJK refused to denounce them and has been courting the far right for ages. It's not a coincidence.

What does she have to do before women realise she's using us?
At what point do women accept KJK is toxic and damaging our movement?

If those closest to her have serious concerns - shouldn't you?

You are brave OP. I think we should be able to discuss controversy surrounding KJK but most posters on here are firmly no debate.

No show without Punch.

God knows Sappho you've debated it endlessly. The one consistent position you have held during your switch from TRA to GC soc fem is your hatred of KJK.

I name change frequently. Been more years than I care to remember. I remember the Mouldies debacle and Cod (and her departure), not that it should made a difference.

I was definitely radicalised on Mumsnet, and peaked by Magdalen and Jane Clare Jones.

I went to some of Venice's early events, and KJK's events, although she was Posie in those days.

Oh, are you climbles as well?

NotHavingIt · 20/03/2023 14:14

andarounditgoesagain · 20/03/2023 10:09

I think it's easy to fall into the trap of following charismatic people who don't have our best interests at heart.

I know I've done it, and well remember the disillusionment when I discovered certain heros/sheros were false.

I think KJK is one of those people. And those of us who can see it, aren't going to stop pointing it out.

I wonder what she has to do before her die hard fans realise they're being taken for a ride.

Her own security are saying she's more interested in getting publicity than women's safety, and her motives are to do with self promotion, not women's rights. Does that not concern you?

I have to admit I do have some concerns. I appreciate that the movement to push back has to be multi-levelled and multi-faceted but I do worry that KJK can to be too inflammatory in her approach. I don't disagree with anything she says on this issue, but I do question the way she says things. She generates a lot of heat and can be very polarising - intentionally so, I think. She's a performer. She reminds me of Sarah Palin in many ways - and I think her most obvious appeal is to an American audience.

Having said that, we do need for the U.S to really start puhing back on this gender madness - because as long as it has a grip there we are going to be forever fighting it off here.

nilsmousehammer · 20/03/2023 14:19

I'm not going to police or 'worry about' another woman's way of standing up against oppression. What entitlement do I have to do that? And how does my 'worrying about it' in practicality actually mean doing? Other than saying ooh I'm worried?

CKL987 · 20/03/2023 14:19

who?

beastlyslumber · 20/03/2023 14:21

Show. Us. The. Evidence.

That's all you have to do.

But you won't.

Because you can't.

And so round we go again.

It would be useful if posters couldn't hop from name to name on the same thread. Although it can be hilarious to watch when it goes wrong.

3WildOnes · 20/03/2023 14:25

Womens place UK distanced themselves from her years ago. I think there are a lot of left leaning gender critical women who feel a bit homeless right now.

knittingaddict · 20/03/2023 14:28

I'm not a big fan of KJK. Threads like this make me want to donate, turn up at a meeting to support her and buy the tshirt. I think that counts as a fail op. 😀

Have you recently name changed? I don't recognise you from this board at all.

I don’t come on much anymore because it isn’t open to anyone who has a different opinion. I generally feel there is a middle ground that is being neglected but that’s not popular on here.

TinselAngel · 20/03/2023 14:29

Nonsense. There's no purity test for entrance.

Terf talk telephone numbers, for those who want answers to their questions direct from KJK.

True.

Especially as WPUK themselves turned out to be a massive disappointment (but that’s applicable to pretty much the entire left in 2023, it’s not a specific GC left thing).

Still, if we all just keep chugging along doing our own thing we can achieve plenty without stooping to bullying the individual women we don’t like (eg not calling them domesticated zombies or starting threads on Mumsnet calling for their denouncement).

I'd really like to have the "middle ground" described, as you define it.

What does it look like?

Hope it goes well.

In this particular case thinking that some of the things KJK says and does is problematic without being the enemy.

I bet it involves Dr Hayton.

FKATondelayo · 20/03/2023 14:34

You don't need a home. You are an adult (human female). You don't need a mummy or a head girl or permission. You can do your own sort of activism with your own tribe and that way you don't ever need to complain to the Matron Of Feminism that the other Girls are Doing It Wrong.

Not agreeing or asking for evidence before i can consider my position doesn't mean I think you're the enemy. We can agree on somethings and not on others, and that should be OK.

Not agreeing or asking for evidence is exactly what I think would be more productive. The general tone of the replies to the OP is hostile and often insulting. A few people replied appropriately but the pile on puts people off saying anything against the grain.

I don't think they can anymore. MNHQ made it so once you've posted on a thread, subsequent posts will be under the original name.

I assume the OP replied in error to the message above that was for me. We are not the same poster. Mumsnet would delete if that was the case.

nilsmousehammer · 20/03/2023 14:44

So if I repeat after you "KJK is sometimes problematic" have we achieved middle ground?
