Tweets to KitchenAidUSA are very critical. Did any of you know this - I ask because Kitchen Aid in general is popular among Mumsnetters.

I'm a long time lurker and this is my first post on this board.
I'm pretty upset.

This issue is ruining my life. No-one Lush bathbombs, no John Lewis and now no kitchen aid. Is nothing sacred?

It's getting so hard trying to make a stand on this stuff. Are we allowed no nice things?

knittingaddict · 14/03/2023 16:33

I wouldn't have minded a male presenting biological man being used to advertise a kitchen aid as saying they are a woman's thing is not great. But they had to go in that direction.

ToastyMcToastyface · 14/03/2023 16:46

Ugh. He is invasive isn’t he? It’s like he is ticking off every big brand / celeb that appeals to women on a little list.

I unfollowed Drew Barrymore today after seeing them fawning over each other on insta.

Now my Mother’s Day treat to myself needs a rethink too.

Indeed. I'll have to tell DH he can't use mine anymore since he isn't a misogynistic show pony.

Dylan mocks not only women but young girls by parodying being a young girl when Dylan is an adult.

All this smells of entitlement, as if the Country of Women is just an uninhabited place anyone can take over or inhabited by primitives who need to be shown how to actually woman properly. And Dylan has no idea about how women and girls actually are, so all we get are stereotypes of the worst kind.

It's not how Dylan dresses, that's fine. It's that we are told that what Dylan is means is being a woman; that what Dylan performs is what all of us are, that there is nothing more to being a woman than clothes, makeup, jumping up and down with glee about some new makeup product of kitchen appliance and so on.

And it is THIS which is viewed as progressive now.

turbonerd · 14/03/2023 17:13

@Climbles
Dylan Mulvaney is a man.
He is not a she/her or anything remotely like a «girl», which is what he is insisting he is.
He is nigh on thirty years old and posts wildly offensive shit regarding his «journey to girlhood» or some such fuckery.

He is not sweet by any stretch of the imagination, though I do agree it seems he has serious issues and should be kept off social media and OFF advertising any old product aimed at women.

ScrollingLeaves · 14/03/2023 17:34

Do you think by any chance it is an ad campaign intending to get a laugh?

viques · 14/03/2023 17:34

Am loving that Joanna Cherry reply to Michael Cashman! Way to go JC!

SeatedDip · 14/03/2023 18:59

Wtf was that drew barrymore thing about? Utterly sickening seeing that image of herself on her knees in front of a man.

readingisgreat · 14/03/2023 19:46

Dylan Mulvaney is a "Maybelline partner". Not sure what that means.

MoggyMittens23 · 14/03/2023 19:56

Has anyone else looked on Dylan's insta? They have SO many female fans fawning over them, it's shocking.

It means they've seen the last of my money.

It means that there’s another brand to boycott.

Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s Maybelline a fuck ton of surgery

Baaaaaa · 14/03/2023 21:22

Anyone posted this yet? Drew Barry fawning on her talk show

Kitchen Aid and Dylan Mulvaney
Soubriquet · 14/03/2023 21:26

Yes it was posted a few pages back

antanddecland · 14/03/2023 21:41

He's not being paid to advertise

Delphinium20 · 14/03/2023 21:51

I think it quite off that a grown man would call himself a girl. Girls are children.

This is also true of some transwomen on Twitter, such as Clymer. I've tried to understand the phenomenon, but not with much success. Perhaps it's a combination of being kind and, on some deeper level, believing that male people do everything better, including womanhood?

Whatever it is, it's clearly linked to the way women got subjugated in the first place: many participated.

PonyPatter44 · 14/03/2023 21:58

Fortunately I already have a KitchenAid and don't expect to have to get a new one any time soon, so I don't need ro boycott the brand... but ffs, why is a gurning twerp like Dylan the best they could find?

AlisonDonut · 14/03/2023 22:22

Not gonna lie, I've never had a kitchen aid and wouldn't dream of spending that amount on a mixer. Mine is from Lidl here in France.

Birdsweepsin · 17/03/2023 05:07

Anyone ever wonder what DM was like pre-transition?

Wonder no more...

They think they are being woke. Doesn't occur to them that they might annoy or upset their customer demographic. He's a woman, isn't he?

@Grammarnut "They think they are being woke. Doesn't occur to them that they might annoy or upset their customer demographic.......... "

👍

Spidergloves · 17/03/2023 11:56

This probably deserves its own thread, I've not seen this mentioned elsewhere. Dylan threw Dylanself a musical gala celebration to mark 365 days of girlhood. It really is quite something.
