Stealerthem?

Thieving, pervy toss-bag?

Shelefttheweb · 19/05/2023 11:24

Surely the clothes should have been seized as evidence? Why does he still have them to ‘return’? Why on Earth would a judge need to tell a thief to return stolen goods? Would the Judge normally assume they could keep the car, jewellery, TV, gold bullion they stole? It would normally be the police who return recovered stolen good (and in this case I would want them destroyed).

DerekFaker · 19/05/2023 11:52

It's an incredibly bizarre story, isn't it?

Florissant · 20/05/2023 07:18

I'm looking forward to the day when Brinton can add "convicted felon" to Brinton's CV.

That would be a good name for a new GC campaign!

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 21/05/2023 12:38

Clive and Dennis have taken to calling Brinton ‘The NonbinaryKnickerNicker’ 😆

nepeta · 21/05/2023 20:12

This whole story is a precautionary tale about what might happen when some social group is seen as not subject to the same criticisms and checks as other social groups. There will be more failures of proper oversight and safeguarding. Biden should have used the same vetting process for all the people he hired.

Again?!

He's been arrested again. This time for luggage theft in Washington.

Yeah, I saw that too. What a nutcase.

nauticant · 03/06/2023 17:36

It wasn't nuts he was after.

SinnerBoy · 03/06/2023 17:37

Is there no end to this cross-dressing kleptomaniac's crimes?

IcakethereforeIam · 03/06/2023 17:43

So many open cases.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 03/06/2023 17:45

It's the same case, the fashion designer's stuff. I do hope it's counted as a 'third strike'.

Slightly unfair thing to say, and I know none of us choose the face we're born with, but he doesn't help himself.

UnDruidlyWords · 03/06/2023 17:54

It may be unfair, elderberry, but I was thinking just the same.

Yes, it's the case where Brinton is alleged to have stolen the fashion designers show pieces, and that's why they are accused of grand larceny. The value of such clothes is presumably quite high, and the pictures showing them wearing the unique (and impressive) pieces is pretty strong evidence that this theft did happen.

I remember way back in the early 1970s when I was a young teenager jokey references to perverts stealing women's underwear from washing lines. How did we move from knowing that these men were stealing women's garments for unacceptable sexual reasons, which might in due course lead to escalation to even more serious sexual offences, to feting them as an oppressed minority, in one generation?

How fukking difficult is it just to buy your own bloody clothes?
How much of an idiot do you have to be to do this?
Take a seamstress photos of outfits you like, pay to get them made. Bingo you now own a set of the outfits you like.

Possibly because of the tendency to view certain groups as above criticism? This used to be the case with Catholic priests and that allowed cover for some who were abusing children. Bad actors will always choose such cover if they are able to do so. This doesn't mean that they would be a large percentage of the group, of course.

This may be linked to connecting unrelated issues under one wide Stonewall umbrella, as if all of them had the exactly same motivations and causes behind them, and then making discussing the possibility that this, perhaps, is not the case forbidden. The #nodebate rule.

So we cannot ask if, say, a young girl and a middle-aged married man might, actually, be transitioning for quite different reasons.

But that doesn't give the sexy willy feels.

Yes! I'm very troubled by the attempt to create a group of trans/NB people who are all alike. But what do the following have in common? How can responsible mental health and other professionals treat them all as being the same?

  • A little boy punished and shamed for not being masculine enough - who may in due course turn out to be gay (or may not) - but whose parents jump to the conclusion that this child has been 'born in the wrong body' and needs medical treatment to get his body aligned better with his 'pink brain'
  • A troubled teenage girl, who may have experienced any or all of the following - neurodiverse condition, e.g. ASD &/or ADHD, an eating disorder, sexual or other abuse, a family breakdown or bereavement, years of bullying, sexual harassment from boys/men as her body starts to change during puberty
  • A middle-aged male who has married, fathered children, made a career, often in a male-dominated field, e.g. military, financial services, and who has a long history of cross-dressing
