I thought MPs were bound by some standards of behaviour?

Yesterday the leader of the SNP at WM called his peers 'rabid gammon', which was shocking, but what I found more disturbing was Llloyd Russell-Moyle's verbal attack on Miriam Cates (clip above).

I actually found his behaviour frightening and alarming, and can't imagine how it must feel to have that venom directed at you by a colleague - let alone the slanderous accusations made.

Is it possible to make a complaint to the Labour Party about his behaviour?

Rosie Duffield's article and the behaviour of LRM have made the front page of the Daily Mail, hopefully this means it will get discussed in the media more widely.

Thank you for the Twitter link; it contains a video clip of two venomous young women calling a baby a “fascist” because his/her father is (peacefully) attending a women’s rights rally.

Never seen anything like this 😡

I think he thinks women have to treat any man at all who is dressed in what people might perceive as women's clothes as a "trans woman".

Ah, I see. So if it's just a random, besuited man it's not transphobic to complain? Is she allowed to complain then?

They work for Lloyd Russell Moyle apparently. Or one of them does. Disturbing isn't it?

The nastiness is palpable.

I think he thinks women have to treat any man at all who is dressed in what people might perceive as women's clothes as a "trans woman".

And yet in the WiSpa incident the naked, visibly aroused man was assumed to be a trans woman because he was in a woman only spa.

So any man dressed in what people might perceive as women's clothes (and this could change country to country), or in a women's only space, or because they said so, is a woman according to the not overly bright stabby finger mantrum person?

Is this honestly his level of critical thinking?

And if you can’t make your point without using threats and intimidation you’ve already lost.

Cheekymaw · 21/01/2023 05:20

Just seen this as up with hot flushes(😭the joy!). What a compete barsteward! Nasty evil piece of work! Imagine he did that in any other workplace ? Disgusting excuse for a man. I will fill out that Labour complaint form too but I am not hopeful that Starmer will do anything. Bloody back to spoiling ma ballot!

PomegranateOfPersephone · 21/01/2023 07:35

I think if always, everywhere and in all circumstances we lower our eyes and submit to men never questioning them on anything and speaking to them demurely and respectfully only when spoken to then possibly we can avoid transphobia??

Did he speak a single word of truth in that interview? He said that sex offenders won't be able to get a GRC; I thought that the Scottish Parliament had voted that amendment down?

mach2 · 21/01/2023 07:46

LRM is a weedy little twig. His "Colin" voice makes his ranting sound petulant and ridiculous. He talks of street fighting but only seems up to being creepy to female MPs. Some acquaintance with actual street fighters might render him more humble.

Do either of the venomous young women in the “fascist baby” video work for the odious puce-faced one? If so, is it a paid position? Are they part of his paid staff in his role as MP?

FrancescaContini · 21/01/2023 08:03

The way he crosses the floor of the HoC and sits so close to the marvellous MC - what a bully this man is.

mach2 · 21/01/2023 08:13

I don't think LRM has the necessary emotional continence to occupy any position of responsibility.

I went to university with Paul Bristow. He was an absolute prick, the worst kind of human. Was awful to women and homeless people. Seeing him backing his female colleague by doing more than any party whip or leader has done has actually blown my mind. Do people really change?

nauticant · 21/01/2023 08:19

I thought that the Scottish Parliament had voted that amendment down?

It was replaced by an amendment that is claimed to have an equivalent effect, see Section 6B:

www.parliament.scot/-/media/files/legislation/bills/s6-bills/gender-recognition-reform-scotland-bill/stage-3/bill-as-passed.pdf

This requires a Chief Constable to become aware that a bad sex offender is seeking a GRC, for the CC to decide they're bad enough for the CC to intervene, and for the CC to liaise with the Registrar General to ensure that no GRC is issued.

In other words, a blanket ban has been binned in favour of deciding if a sex offender is bad enough and maybe then, or maybe not, intervening to prevent a GRC being issued.

A ‘bad’ sex offended rather than those good ones?

Whyjustwhy123 · 21/01/2023 08:20

Offender!

nauticant · 21/01/2023 08:28

It's not my law!

But I'm keen for people to learn about this because if they're going to argue with genderists who are claiming that the Bill contains safeguards with respect to sex offenders, then it's good that people know what's actually in the Bill.

nauticant · 21/01/2023 08:34

And also for people to reflect on the news that's come out this week about the Police and then consider how safe it feels for the Police to intervene to safeguard women when it will be a nuisance to do this and doing it properly will see the Police come under pressure from a number of directions.

I did read about this. Another abdication of responsibility and a way to direct the blame when it goes wrong ie a woman is raped.

They're relying on police information being complete, and on the police doing the right thing at all times. As we've seen recently etc etc

Theeyeballsinthesky · 21/01/2023 08:37

Police believe rape myths

yes I mean what could possibly go wrong with that idea

Thanks for your clarification. I suppose that if the CC is fully Stonewalled, the scumbag will get his ticket.

That article needs a thread of its own
One police force being held up as a great example because its charge rate has tripled from 3% to 10%
Sad

This man is SO hypocritical.

"It's fine for women to have concerns. They just need to talk about it using the exact words and phrases I've pre-approved"
