Rosie Duffield Support thread

I've searched everywhere for a thread about this amazing and brave MP, but couldn't find one.

Am I missing something? She supports the blocking of the new Scottish GR Bill and was cheered by her own MPs.

She seems an amazing and strong woman, wish she was my MP. I'm going to write and thank her.

Rosie's interview on GB News earlier

MoirasSaggyBundles · 18/01/2023 17:04

Labour briefing and advising that they are supporting Rosie. But they are not. They have not spoken to her. Nor are they talking to other GC Labour women.

MorvenOfMalvern · 18/01/2023 17:43

Bless her. She is having to be so brave.

Interesting that she talks calmly about the threats and absie that she receives. That she speaks with measured criticism at the lack of support. No hyperbole, no exaggeration, no drama.

So so different to the Russell Moyles and Bradshaws and Nichols of this world.

TheaBrandt · 18/01/2023 17:46

We all support you Rosie x

I’m going to write to her. Her face at the end when Alister Jack said she deserved respect brought tears to my eyes. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to your own side, as someone wise once said, and she has buckets of it. But it’s still depressing to see that playground bullying and ostracisation in plain sight in our governing bodies. And for what? For the crime of being a woman with an opinion about women’s rights. It’s depressing.

Rosie joining Graham, Helen and Arty in 2021:

Peppermintaero · 18/01/2023 18:03

Rosie, thank you. Your courage and refusal to give in to bullies is inspiring. I would vote for you if I lived in your constituency.

Having watched that excellent GB news clip I think I might tune in more often. Why has the BBC turned its back on the rights of women? Why has the Labour Party scorned the rights of women and dismissed our concerns?

We will not forget.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/01/2023 18:29

That was a great discussion on GB News. Rosie was very clear on the lack of support she was receiving from her own party.

feellikeanalien · 18/01/2023 18:36

How I wish there were more Labour MPs like her. I am seriously considering spoiling my vote. Why is there no party prepared to stand up for women which also has decent policies in other areas? I can't believe how poor this shower are.

TrollMunter · 18/01/2023 18:38

Living legend. The very few mps I’d currently vote for

Jux · 18/01/2023 18:39

I love Rosie. She does sterling work; gold.

She is my MP and has been selected to stand again. It's the only way I can vote Labour next time, otherwise I would seriously consider spoiling my ballot paper.
She got in originally on the back of a huge student vote (Canterbury had had a Tory MP for 99 years before her!) and I doubt she can rely on that again, so it'll be interesting to see what happens...

She’s my MP too. 😍

it wasn’t just the students - though the queues to vote at University of Kent were huge!

I had a friend who was at the count when she beat Lazier Brazier. Apparently he knew the game was up when some of villages turned red. She also had cross-party backing under the Remainers for Rosie campaign.

GB News is actually very hot on the topic of TRA activity. They do usually make an effort to hear both sides and give GC women an equal voice, which is more than can be said for the other news channels. Of course, they have the excellent Andrew Doyle, but all the presenters seem to have an excellent grasp of the gender critical argument. I'm a lefty remainer, but I find myself turning to this channel more and more lately.

Sending my regards and thanks to brave Rosie if she's reading.

SpareHeirOverThere · 19/01/2023 08:13

All the love to Rosie.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/01/2023 10:17

I guess Canterbury will go Tory if Labour voters don't get behind Rosie, so all the people who pop in to tell us how evil we are for not voting Labour can pop over to the Student Room or whatever to lecture the students in Canterbury.

Now they're telling Steamer to "eat shit", I wonder if he will have a sudden epiphany

Oh lovely. If I were a neutral, this would definitely win me over.

Cheekymaw · 19/01/2023 11:06

I love Rosie - she is very brave. Thanks Rosie Duffield. It's very sad that she has not had the support she should get from her leader and Party . I wish she was Labour leader . I reckon she would walk it if more of us lot joined up to vote for her! The bro ladz and fascist baby laddettes are not the real Labour Party and do not represent anyone outside of London or Brighton. It's appalling the way that she is treated.

teawamutu · 19/01/2023 11:07

I'm going to send Rosie a card. And a note to Labour HQ that her treatment is one reason they no longer have my vote.

TealSteal · 19/01/2023 11:25

Why is it nearly always men pouring hatred and vitriol on women for standing up for themselves and children? It just says to me that these men relish the opportunity to shout down women, to openly display their hatred and misogyny all under the cover of supporting other males bid to gain access to women's private spaces or worse. This is just old school sexisim under the guise of supporting lgbt people. It is also a male sexual rights movement which many men will have no problem supporting as they do not view women as human anyway. Women need to stop being kind about this for fear of hurting men's feelings because they don't give a damm about ours.

axolotlfloof · 19/01/2023 12:45

You are right. She is fabulous and brave, and the way she is treated by men within the Labour Party is abhorrent.
She deserves an apology, as does Miriam Cates from that horrible man, Lloyd Russell-Moyle.

lordloveadog · 19/01/2023 13:55

She is awesome. The only way I'd vote Labour again would be if I lived in her constituency. Or that of another openly GC candidate.

Ramblingnamechanger · 19/01/2023 14:23

I would even vote Tory if Miriam was my MP.
