What does living as a woman actually mean?

So if the Scottish parliament votes for the new law, and someone can obtain a certificate stating they're a woman because they have lived as one for 3 months ... is there a definition, description or checklist to ensure the individual has done everything needed? I have a horrid feeling I may now not be a woman under such a definition!

I think that, to live as a woman, I’m supposed to shave my legs, wear make up and a skirt, and pluck my chin hairs?

In which case I guess I’ve been living as a man since I gave birth to DS.

DH is sure gonna be surprised to hear it. 👀

So while the woman is cooking, spinning, weaving, farming, running at least 2 businesses, doing the shopping, investing in land, farming, and feeding the servants ... is the man doing anything other than sitting at the city gates and saying 'Well done, love' occasionally?

He's hanging out with Folly. Or possibly identifying as her.

Proverbs 9:13–18

13 The woman Folly is loud; she is seductive and knows nothing.

14 She sits at the door of her house; she takes a seat on the highest places of the town,

15 calling to those who pass by, who are going straight on their way,

16 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” And to him who lacks sense she says,

17 “Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”

18 But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

There's a lot more. It's an interesting book, a bit repetitive but sometimes oddly relatable. Sometimes also not, of course.

Oh Lordy. Piece in the paper today that the male and female brain treat disorder differently. Women are hard wired to sort out disarray. Men see it but don’t deal with it.

More proof I am a man. And something else for the TRAs to use

TheABC · 23/12/2022 17:42

If (a big if) this goes through, I think I will have to apply. I don't feel female, I haven't bothered with makeup since COVID and I wear trousers. Our gas bill already says Mr ABC, so where do I sign up?*

*Which brings up the interesting question of how do they prove the application true? If I apply using my husband's name, how will they know the difference?

DH vacuumed up today, put away the laundry and is now making our dinner. Is he a woman now?

UrsulaPandress · 23/12/2022 17:57

Yep. Buy him a sparkly scarf.

Nope. You can even keep your beard. See Alex, who describes self as a lesbian, and works for Stonewall UK. Alex even tours schools, giving talks about being a lesbian.

Wales Online

All of this would never have been the mess it is if men like Alex could have gone with 'expanding the bandwidth of what it means to be man' instead 🙄

DameMaud · 23/12/2022 18:11

That was meant to include image and photo from original but hasn't attached. Oh well.

UrsulaPandress · 23/12/2022 18:23

I remember it well.

They are, though, I suppose, the kinds of things you'd do if you were disguising yourself as a woman to escape the draft, or some other reason.

Like Klinger from MASH?

What will you do?

I would watch them very carefully

TheBiologyStupid · 23/12/2022 23:53

Absolutely, AwNo!

Which paper?
If there is a difference, how on earth could they tell it was 'hardwired' rather than conditioned?
(Seems like I'm a man too and so is my dd according to this one.)

So thankful to male people for showing us poor limited females how much more there could be to being a woman if we were only able to think beyond our own sex.
