The wokebro hypocrisy over Jeremy Clarkson

There's a thread on Clarkson's comments about Meghan Markle in Feminism Chat, but not here.

I don't particularly want to discuss the comments themselves (I'm sure we all agree they're horrific) but I feel myself once more being pushed to the brink by the hypocrisy of wokebros and handmaidens all lining up to condemn Clarkson as a misogynist, having allied themselves with a movement that routinely makes the most vile threats of sexual aggression against women - and having belittled women's concerns about these threats as silly or irrational.

Talcum X has made a whole video about how terrible Clarkson is. This is a man who routinely blocks feminists on social media so he can't hear what they're saying about male violence. The rest of the time he's calling us bigots.

Zoe Williams (her again) wrote an article about Clarkson in the Guardian, but she's another one who refuses to see the misogynistic bile that pours out of trans activists towards women.

They're all congratulating themselves on how progressive and feminist they are. I don't think I can stand it much longer. I don't know if it's deliberate gaslighting or they're all just incredibly stupid.

Completely agree. Clarkson wrote about reenacting that scene from GOT where Cersi is publicly shamed by having shit thrown on her while naked.

Just a few days ago in Belgium, trans activists actually did throw shit at women who weren’t naked, hadn’t (fictionally) brought shame on a kingdom, but we’re just meeting to discuss women’s rights.

Had the same thought. People who wouldn't sign the letter condemning the rape and death threats to JKR are now falling over themselves to scold Clarkson. John Bishop is at it and I believe part of his act was adding more bile to what had already been heaped on Rowling.

Surely they are too intelligent not to be aware of the contradictions in their position on trans and women's rights.

He's quite rightly been taken to task for his vile comments. And yes, by some of the same people who look away when women are subject to aggressive sexual harassment (go suck my girl dick TERF) and the rest.

But THIS thread is about the hypocrisy of the left. That’s what the OP was about. You’re here commenting, but haven’t commented on the subject of THIS thread. Just scolded the OP for using a certain word. Do you have any opinion on the journalists who ignore left wing males throwing shit at women in real life?

I thought exactly the same listening to Sturgeon yesterday. So keen to condemn nobber Clarkson, meanwhile actively supporting men in women's prisons. Clarkson makes me sick and all the hypocrites criticising him make me sick too. It's all so incredibly superficial.

The hypocrisy is petty glaring. You'd think that people who were really alarmed by the Clarkson's vile writing about Markle would be a little more self-aware, but apparently not.

I would, actually. Because it would be morally consistent. Everyone would be able to see them for the misogynistic little shits that they are.

No, they should report on actual violence against women on the occasions it happens in real life, at the time that it happens, (like males actually throwing shit at women in real life) instead of deliberately selecting out certain cases because it would ruin the narrative they try to push on other matters and only focusing on the fantasy violence in one paragraph of a newspaper article.

Condemn Clarkson and trans activists both. But it doesn’t happen because trans activists are “on the right side of history”🙄.

I don't agree. The issue with Clarkson's comments isn't about exposing other individuals, it's about exposing Clarkson. I don't think it would help the situation to have more approbation out there, whoever it came from.

Also there is nothing 'Left' about failing to understand sex class analysis and pandering to a movement deeply wedded to pharmaceutical consumerism.
The 'journalists' mentioned aren't on the Left unless your political analysis came from an US Youtube video.

The people jumping on Clarkson are no more noble than the ones who have abused MM for years. They are relishing the chance at last to write something about her that gets clicks and ££ that means they don't have to resort to the methods of the press on what they see as the other side.

If you've watched the M&H Netflix doc it makes this pretty clear. Best roll your eyes, ignore, move on. Do not click.
