I can't see a thread on this, but she is starting a new party and will run in elections.

I wish she’d stand against Nicola Sturgeon.

We’ll definitely need another thread about the Other Party when this one has filled up. Doesn’t seem like we got much chat about the actual party or the political challenge it puts before the mainstream parties.

No immediate rush - she's a bit busy. Again, from the BB interview:

Next year I've got Newcastle, Scotland, two dates in London, then I'm going to Australia for three and a half weeks to do a tour and documentary in Australia, also across to New Zealand.

Then I'm gonna go and do the same in Canada, so I'm back for a couple of weeks and I'll go to Canada, and then when I come back I'll have about a year to campaign towards the general election.

We'll have to enjoy hearing all the ways she's doing Australia, New Zealand and Canada wrong before we can properly get onto all the incorrect politicking.

That woman has some serious energy! I very much look forward to hearing about Australia, New Zealand and Canada, all countries in desperate need of some uncomplicated truth telling.

I think it is marvellous how mumsnetters don’t seem inclined to accept unsubstantiated rumours about people, we tend to listen, read and make our own minds up. I also admire how we are fairly resistant to purity spirals and as KJK put it in her recent interview with Benjamin Boyce “guilt by association”. That was a fantastic interview by the way, well worth a listen.

Happylittlechicken · 10/12/2022 19:27

So @Onnabugeisha are “sliced and diced” quotes only acceptable when you do them? That’s a bit of a double standard isn’t it? Do we have a hierarchy of who can post what now? Helle was just posting your words. Are you saying you didn’t say those things?

RedAndBlueStripedGolfingUmbrella · 10/12/2022 19:28

Happylittlechicken · 10/12/2022 18:24

Ooops @Boiledbeetle abd @IcakethereforeIam looks like the fun police are here. So we get told off for disagreeing, we get told off for pointing out inconsistencies in posters claims and now we’re getting told off for talking about cake. It’s like these posters really want women to shut up….

This is just nonsensical.
You do realise you're talking to other women, right?
I'm one, and why wouldn't other posters be?
It's not being "told off" for disagreeing with you for goodness sake, or pointing out the cake derailing - here's a thought, if you don't want the thread to get derailed, maybe not derail it in the first place? Or is it that you just would rather it not be shown up, and ignored, pretend it's not happening?

AutumnCrow · 10/12/2022 19:29

And I'm pleased that KJK will be able to take advantage of the agreed electoral rules to publicise her manifesto & policy detail, attend hustings and public meetings, speak out, distribute leaflets and put up posters.

All within the law.

Every single time she's reported to the polis by the bambers she'll get a TV or radio interview. It's really very canny.

Moonatics · 10/12/2022 19:30

Onnabugeisha · 10/12/2022 17:40

No, as I have posted already, with a link as evidence there are already MPs threatening our abortion rights and their number is growing. Is it wise to add to their number?

Theres like 650 MPs, how many of them have tried to change the abortion laws?
In order to answer this question, I Quickly googled and found 4 (in recent history) So assuming kjk makes it (unlikely) there will be 5, leaving 645 MPs that either will fight tooth and nail or give no shits.

If you really really detest the idea of kjk actually becoming an MP (unlikely) and getting all this power, dont vote for her. That's the legal way in the UK.

I do appreciate the sunlight you bring though.

Now about the nibbles? I'm getting peckish peeps.

Happylittlechicken · 10/12/2022 19:38

@moonatics I’ve got cheese straws?

im loving the ‘real feminists’ telling us all we’re feministing wrong and that KJK is the actual devil. So KJK had interviews with some right wing people. Ok. And? Maybe after talking with her they’ll come to realise their views were problematic and change their stance.

IF KJK did become an MP, what sins has she committed that no other MP has committed? I think a lot of these ‘real feminists’ hate her because she’s getting a message out there, doing stuff and showing them up for the apathetic cowards some of them are. I don’t see anyone else doing what she’s doing! And it’s obviously working otherwise the gender ideologists wouldn’t be coming on here to tell us how evil she is and not to listen to her.

its going to be interesting to see what is said to her when she wants to put up her posters as a political party.

All those that would normally say no can keep on saying no and then they'll be even more stuff in the press about it and how they are denying her her political rights or they can put the signs up like they have to and face the wrath of the unknowing who see the posters but don't realise it's a political campaign poster and can't understand why the shouting that worked before to get them taken down doesn't work this time.

NecessaryScene · 10/12/2022 19:43

I think it is marvellous how mumsnetters don’t seem inclined to accept unsubstantiated rumours about people, we tend to listen, read and make our own minds up.

You have to come to some sort of judgement about someone's views, character, and, well, their own judgement. So far, KJK has yet to let me down, while quite a few others have.

I'm not quite sure what judgement Onnabugeisha is drawing from KJK choosing to use Carl Benjamin's channel. Clearly a huge character flaw is being perceived, assuming it isn't just a general "guilt by association" opportunistic attack, but I'm not sure what.

Personally the main thing I see is someone determined to spread her message to as many people as possible and who clearly prioritises that over what the left-wing bubble will think about that.

I don't have a problem with that.

I can see some left-wing feminists not liking the fact that they're on the same side as right-wingers, but there's not a lot they can do about that. I don't imagine the right-wingers being super thrilled about being on the same side as radical feminists either... But you'll just have to put up with it, or give up and go along with the trans activists.

Not wanting to personally ever come into contact with a right-winger is a perfectly reasonable position, but you have no right to demand it of anyone else, and if you reach the point of refusing to touch anyone who's touched anyone who's touched a right-winger, you're just not going to be very effective, are you?

Boiledbeetle · 10/12/2022 19:44

@Moonatics I've got Christmas "picky bits" after my early Christmas this week. The pate really needs finishing and I've got a bit of stilton that i won't miss and some rather nice crackers.

Do you have any pigs in blankets? Will trade for cheese straws and pork pie?

NecessaryScene · 10/12/2022 19:47

Dammit, I'm hungry now.

Boiledbeetle · 10/12/2022 19:49

@Happylittlechicken Three truffle flavoured (blghh) pigs in blankets, two stuffing balls, 2 parsnips and three roasties. Yours if you want them.

You see this a lot when the #posts gets close to the 1000 post limit for a thread.
Posters will post a ton of random nonsense so the thread can be closed.
They’re terrified they won’t have the last words on a subject.
Its all part of the game to silence dissent.

"say so"

Britinme · 10/12/2022 19:58

The abortion topic on this thread has grown into the Biggest Monster Strawman Ever. Let's get back to the point of KJK doing what she's doing, which is not to get elected (unlikely that she would) but to use the platform of candidacy to speak out and do away with the whole #nodebate and kow-towing of the Labour party to the whole TWAW and SWIW and being on TRSOH without questioning it. I wish her luck and hope she succeeds.

It's very sad that as a lifelong leftie and Labour voter, if I had a vote in the UK (I don't any longer) I would be hesitating over who to vote for. My politics haven't changed. I have always supported gay rights and gay marriage and continue to do so. But when I am expected to allow any man who self-identifies as a woman into spaces in which I expect privacy and dignity, and applaud male-bodied persons invading women-only shortlists, I dig my heels in.

PomegranateOfPersephone · 10/12/2022 19:59

I agree with you in part but thinking about it I’m not sure I would agree that not wanting to come into personal contact with a right winger is a reasonable position. It seems, as you say, rather self sabotaging to limit oneself to a bubble but also a hindrance to achieving a cohesive, functioning society of the kind that might be genuinely caring and inclusive. Trying to avoid anyone who has ever associated with anyone who you disagree with would, I suggest, be bad for the mental health of the lonely, obsessive individual and dangerously polarising for society as a whole if too many people did this.

For sure I agree with you it is certainly ineffective as an approach. Talking to anyone willing to listen and/or engage seems to me absolutely the right approach.

Boiledbeetle · 10/12/2022 19:59

So as we draw to the close of this thread what have we learned?

MUM(aghhh my autocorrect keeps changing KJK to mum!) KJK will be forming a political party

Some people are not happy about this for (insert various reasons here)

Most of us on here don't care who she aligns, apparently, with or her opinions, apparently, on some subjects

helleobore reads all the posts and all the links, even the repeatedly reposted ones

We apparently have a secret group that no-one knows about

I've already celebrated Christmas

People are currently feeling peckish

we're not allowed to play with KFK

Have i missed anything?

NecessaryScene · 10/12/2022 20:01

I agree with you in part but thinking about it I’m not sure I would agree that not wanting to come into personal contact with a right winger is a reasonable position.

I'm right with you, but people have the right to make that decision for themselves. Freedom of association involves the freedom to not associate. At least as an individual.

Different if you're a service provider, of course, where there are rules about discrimination.

People do have the right to draw their own boundaries, even if we feel that it may be ultimately counter-productive to their welfare.

But I agree that this should not be encouraged, culturally. It should not be seen as a sign of character to bubble-ise yourself like this.

Floisme · 10/12/2022 20:03

If you'd like the thread to end on a more serious note Onnabugeisha, maybe you could tell us who these MPs are who say all women's rights matter?

As in this post an hour or so ago:
But I prefer to vote for MPs who say all womens rights matter.

I'd love to know which MPs you had in mind and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Moonatics · 10/12/2022 20:03

I'll take cheese straws and picky bits. Obviously. But truffle flavoured piggies nah. Keep em ta.
I do however hold a nice amount of cinnamon rolls, not for Christmas just because I'm incredibly Ill and it seems to be all I can eat just now.

I guess I might get into the round Robin messaging thingy on another thread? Or maybe I'll see the twat signal. I'm up all hours in pain hunting for yet more painkillers and cinnamon rolls. I promise to keep a lookout now I know about it.

PomegranateOfPersephone · 10/12/2022 20:04

I’d like to add, I am going to turn my phone off now and get cosy in bed with a book. Tomorrow I shall enjoy my first mince pies of the season. Xmas Grin

I am really looking forward to all the billboards and seeing/hearing KJK in the media. I hope she gets even more attention than this thread!

Anklespraying · 10/12/2022 20:06

Sequenca · 10/12/2022 18:05

Outside of all that's being talked about here, abortion is very much going to be on the agenda in the coming decades due to the declining birth rate.

Eh? The UK population has increased by 10 million in 20 years. The total humans on the planet is 8 billion. There's no shortage of people.

Boiledbeetle · 10/12/2022 20:08

@Moonatics the pigs in blankets were truly awful if anyone is thinking of getting the Sainsbury's taste the difference truffle ones don't do it

I could go a cinnamon roll right now. I'll just do you a plate of the other bits then we can swap.
