I can't see a thread on this, but she is starting a new party and will run in elections.

If I remember correctly, WoLF did receive funding from ADF to pursue a specific court case.

And am I right in thinking ADF have been one of the main groups involved in cases over there? Like the Connecticut student runners?

Now, if people on the "left" in the US didn't want the ADF involved in fighting for women's rights, the simplest way to avoid it would be for left-wing groups to step in and help the women and hence cut them out. The ADF are very much the last resort when no other legal assistance is available. (It's almost as if the left don't really care about empowering the ADF.)

Fortunately it doesn't come to that here. We just get empowerment of minor groups like Hearts of Oak instead...

This is happening all the time now, in Canada as well. Women who want to take legal action are turned away from every left wing org they go looking for help from, and so they end up with orgs that are not left wing supporting their battles.

And then people on the left criticize them for accepting money from these groups.

I have come to think there is something much more nefarious going on, it's more about left-feminists wanting to keep women who aren't "left" out of the picture, so the former group can claim the voice of women as a whole.

Quite.

Also most of the empowerment of HoO has come from all the free publicity from people obsessed with KJK. I don't think any of us had heard of them before that.

@Happylittlechicken cake is always welcome but I've been left out as well, never mind I'm....sniff....fine with it.

<wonders off muttering> spend hours of my own time patrolling toilets and this is the thanks I get I don't know why I bother......

Hepwo · 10/12/2022 17:48

Can you advise on the growth you refer to @Onnabugeisha Abortion has come up in parliament a number of times in my lifetime so I would be interested to see how much the "threat" has grown over the last 50 years in the UK. Do you know? I can't find the evidence you have posted.

NecessaryScene · 10/12/2022 17:51

It’s from this link

Thank you - that rather generic title foiled my search.

I think it's very depressing that the US is (was? in 2016?) in such a state that ADF is one of the key sources of funding for bringing a case like that. I really think it says very little about WoLF - who loudly declare themselves non-partisan, but a hell of a lot about the state of US politics.

It poses the question - if the US "left" cares so much about abortion, and thinks that even the slightest empowerment of ADF could threaten it, why is it letting ADF become a key apparent supporter of women's rights?

Are "trans rights" really worth sacrificing abortion rights?

I sense hypocrisy here - somehow women turning to the ADF out of desperation are are to blame, but those on the "left" leaving women with nowhere else to turn are blameless?

Helleofabore · 10/12/2022 17:54

Onnabugeisha · 10/12/2022 17:40

No, as I have posted already, with a link as evidence there are already MPs threatening our abortion rights and their number is growing. Is it wise to add to their number?

There is absolutely no foundation to that accusation though.

You can keep repeating it. It doesn’t make it true.

Me too @IcakethereforeIam me too. I even perfected my beetling stare and got left out. Hours I’ve spent polishing the Twatsignal as well.

Onnabugeisha · 10/12/2022 17:57

@Helleofabore
The evidence seems to have consisted of a snippet from YouTube, with a transcript (thanks to that poster) and a repeatedly posted image. Unverified and with out wider context.

Funny, you “missed” 95% of the evidence and spent most of your time cutting and pasting comments without the links included.

Helleofabore · 10/12/2022 18:05

Onnabugeisha · 10/12/2022 15:33

Why do you post the way you do? Calling truth lies, exaggerating thrown eggs as more violent than being shot or run over to death, literally going to other threads to cut and paste things completely out of context to smear me- that’s unhinged behaviour right there, asking loaded questions that are blatantly manipulative and far from genuine.

When I posted that abortion rights are extremely important because it risks womens lives, thousands of women and girls and no one has died yet due to transgenderism. You responded by posting the names of two transgender criminals saying “their victims would disagree” and accused me of misogyny and ignorance…deliberately not mentioning that their victims were not killed. Leaving it vague, to imply to all the readers that criminals you mentioned were murderers and I was ignorant.

Their victims had suffered voyeurism and assault not murder. Then when I point that out, that my point was lack of abortion rights = DEATH and transgender ideology hasn’t actually killed any women and your two criminals hadn’t killed anyone, you then accuse me of minimising sexual assault! it’s not minimising to point out the original point I made was about women dying and that you were deliberately trying to obfuscate that.

You are patently dishonest and manipulative in how you post. When you get the evidence you demand after calling someone a liar, you go into full on denial and character assassination.

Then you wonder why some of us get angry with you on MN. You wonder why we resort to sarcasm. And don’t think I haven’t noticed how you’ve stopped shortening my name to Onna and started calling me “bug”…as some sort of sick provocation to dehumanise me into an insect. Which of course, your response will be full on faux innocence denial.

Because your posts quickly descend into manipulative twists and personal accusations.

Because the cognitive distortions you use need to be worked through. They form a dishonest posting history.

I use shortened names for everyone. Please check the history. You have made plenty of personal accusations to me and other posters over months of history.

I post your words. I post how you show your deep prejudice towards posters on this board very quickly into your entrance into a thread.

I, personally, find your posts to be incredibly manipulative. And I now post your posts back to you in hope you actually see it. That you see the prejudice and the contempt that is in your posts.

If you engaged with honesty, and I find it quite interesting to see you call my posts dishonest. But there you go, we will never agree. And that is ok.

But if you honestly think that your posts are what you say they are, I suggest you read them. Because, it is not only me that finds what you say to be very different to how you have just portrayed what you have said in this post.

Outside of all that's being talked about here, abortion is very much going to be on the agenda in the coming decades due to the declining birth rate.

Helleofabore · 10/12/2022 17:54

It is true that MPs are threatening our abortion rights. Jacob Rees Mogg called them a ‘cult of death’. I posted an article about it earlier how Parliament refused to recognise abortion rights as a human right for the U.K. Bill of Rights,

You might want to do a bit of digging. Abortion rights are not as strong as you think.

IcakethereforeIam · 10/12/2022 18:07

Yes. The entire point is it is NOT KJK who is undermining those rights.

It just isn’t.

Same old, same old

Hard to see this going on

"And don’t think I haven’t noticed how you’ve stopped shortening my name to Onna and started calling me “bug”…as some sort of sick provocation to dehumanise me into an insect"

What's wrong with insects? the amount of times i get called beetle? I mean it's there in my name, just like bug is in that persons. I call helleofabore hell. Happylittlechicken, happy and icakethereforeIam cake. Sometimes i change them round and pick different parts people's names.

That's how it works. It's what a lot of us do
