I have spoken to left wing feminists like myself many times on the issue, and the overwhelming response is they see the concern but they are concerned about being on the wrong side of history.

Are you saying that they're more concerned about how they might look to someone in the future (after they're dead) than they are about children being harmed here and now?

Do they not think that these hypothetical people in the future might look at them and think "Why the fuck were all these self-righteous people worrying how they would look if they said 'men are not women' and ignoring massive holes in child safeguarding and enormous harm done to women and children"?

Do they really think that the 'right side of history' is going to be the one that advocated for mutilating and sterilising children? If so, they're the ones who need to get out of their purity spiralling echo chamber.

Really, Islam isn’t an “extreme form of religion” any more than any other world religion.

But KJK didn’t ask for ‘feminist analysis’ or say ‘hang on a minute’.

She guessed the age of some girls as 7 (which is an assumption) and said For Fucks Sake, Disgusting, Sexist, and told the school to Sort it Out.

I think their hesitance is a lot more complex of that. And they worry thinking back to the fight against gay rights. That it was ‘harming children’ obviously we know that was wrong and of course being gay didn’t harm anyone. I think they’re drawn in by the mental health aspect, and how difficult it can be for those with gender dysphoria.
I think lots of women find it tough, as we’re conditioned to be nice and the nice thing to do is to say ‘of course these people are trans and they feel this way and they need to be given all the support’. I do think lots of them understand the issue and the dangers of issuing hormones and especially about the men in women’s prisons/sports/changing rooms. I think it’s something where we really need more high profile left wingers to step up and say their concerns.
The only people talking about this issue seem to be on the right side, including news agencies so it makes left wingers feel it’s not ‘their side’. I know a few of my friends would come on board if they felt someone gave them a voice, I think that voice being KJK is going to have the opposite effect on them though.
The problem is this really isn’t a black and white debate. Everyone knows you can’t change sex, everyone knows that giving drugs or surgery to kids is a bad idea, and everyone knows biological disadvantages mean sex segregation is necessarily in cases. But on the flip side there’s the mental health effects etc. The problem is the discussion seems to have gone with a sharp red line down the middle and you’re either a TRA or a TERF, and that’s making it tough.

I felt that penalising girls because their parents buy into sexist claptrap is wrong

KJK did long ago. She did a reboot rant in which she rants about left wing women and how apparently they only hate her because she grew up working class (lol) and then waxes eloquent about how great right wing women are.

Which is fine…she’s right wing..nothing wrong with being right wing. But then she rants about no one knows what far right is or what a Nazi is and said she’s willing to ‘stand beside the Devil himself’ to get “her message out” and then pretends she has no idea who Hearts of Oak are despite hanging out repeatedly with fellow Swindonian and darling of HoO, Carl Benjamin.

I admire what she’s doing however I can see this ending very badly for the gender critical movement.
The fact she has a very shady history of working with the far right (including those apposing abortion and contraception) will have her ‘pro women’ message invalidated in many minds.
Ive thought about this and I know the saying ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’ but actually that square can’t circle here. As our ‘enemy’ is the ideology harming women, their ‘enemy’ is progression.
Tough one, hope it ends well with the message getting across and MPs having to answer questions they avoid, but I can see this going south sadly.
