Re: your post about the other petitions related to Gender ideology. Thank you that is interesting to see. I noticed how a lot seem to end at about 12,000. The one against teaching “Gender Identity”in RSE lessons is struggling. Parents must just not realise the implications.

It is interesting. I think the GC movement is growing and deepening hence the large numbers signing this one so quickly. What is going on in Scotland is getting people more active.

I shared this on Facebook but got no likes. How can we share and explain in a sentence what it means to those who aren't aware of the consequences?

I think one of the issues is that if you've not been involved in the debate it's such an obvious thing that people probably don't see why it needs a petition. I've only shared with people who know my views.

Love looking at the map as well. Edinburgh is looking pretty good in a number of constituencies!

When the Equality Act 2010 was enacted no one thought we would have to define woman and female and that the definition of sex would be questioned. Please sign and share to get clarity.

Did you know that UK law the word sex can mean legal sex or biological sex? The first can be changed, the second is fixed at conception.

The protected characteristic of sex refers to biological sex. The protected characteristic of gender reassignment refers to legal sex which is modified through documentation.

I agree. When you see how relatively few have signed in a ‘red’ constituency and most of the map is only yellow or orange, you suddenly realise most people have.no idea about what has been happening, or the implications.

Surely it might also be that most people simply haven’t seen the petition? Had I not been on Mumsnet, I wouldn’t have seen it.

I texted a few friends with the link ... if everyone here did the same, we’d have quite an impact. It really is about clarifying the law and that can only be good for everyone.

Yes - it's the petition that most of the population still probably don't realise is needed.
