Standing for women - Portland rally cancelled over violent threats

ArabellaScott · 26/10/2022 13:59

Not quite sure what's happened - seems there were credible threats to women's lives over these protests.

twitter.com/StandingforXX

Now it seems a few women went ahead and met up and were attacked. (Nobody seriously hurt as far as I can tell)

Hoping everyone is safe and well.

Yes those who choose b are sheros.

NEWS JUST IN - Posie Parker AKA Kellie J Keen Minshall doesn't want to die, and actually wants to return home to her comfortable, 4 bedroom house in Devon and yes, she wants to see her husband and children again.

Kellie Jay, who has had death threats and who hired a male, yes MALE security detail, said that she 'actually wants to carry on living' and it would be 'quite nice to see her kids again'.

Mumsnetter @Sundaymorningtoday asked several times, why on earth she would need protection from PENIS PEOPLE by PENIS PEOPLE, as if placards weren't enough protection against armed activists with 'EVIL TRANS' tattooed on their necks. As other Mumsnetters put it 'Yes, penis people do run businesses offering paid for security to protect people in the USA' to which SundayMorning replied 'I just don't get it, we never used to have to arm ourselves here in the UK when I done feminism things'.

Kellie Jay is mid way along a tour of the USA's public spaces in cities, where even the police won't attend due to the violent nature of these activists, she attends without bullet proof vests and yes, she will continue to arrange security to the disgruntlement of some women who would rather she actually just stopped talking about women's rights so as not to upset their university student sons who are holding them to ransom by calling themselves Anna L something now that they have discovered hard core anime porn. You can see Kellie J at public spaces across the USA for the next fortnight, if she isnt violently murdered in the meantime.

It’s awful.

Women are being forced to choose.

a) Keep quiet, lose your rights, witness harms to children

b) Speak out, risk your job and physical safety, rely on the protection of private security firms because the police won’t help you (and might even arrest you).

I refuse to criticise women who choose b.

Exactly.

Sundaymorningtoday · 05/11/2022 16:40

Well, I think my point is proved.

Ta, da.

Disydoll12 · 05/11/2022 16:44

@AlisonDonut 100 percent agree. I don't even have the words to respond to these women who have a problem with KJK protecting herself and others from violent men. Well I do have the words but I know my post will be taken down. I am so angry she even has to defend her position.

EndlessTea · 05/11/2022 17:00

Sundaymorningtoday · 05/11/2022 16:40

Well, I think my point is proved.

Ta, da.

I don’t think you were very successful there.

You didn’t make any clear point as far as I could see, then didn’t help to clarify when what you said could be interpreted in different ways.

i, and a few others said, yes, we feel uncomfortable too (which I think you were trying to say, right?) - which is actually agreeing with you, if that’s what you meant.

Then you have a little flounce.

Sundaymorningtoday · 05/11/2022 16:40

Well, I think my point is proved.

Ta, da.

Could you please explain your point? I really haven’t understood it at all.

Individual gun ownership is commonplace in the US and most guns are banned in the UK, that’s the big difference between needing higher security to do a LWS event in the US compared to the UK (where we can have non-armed steward-type security and make pre arrangements for the event with the police).

My first husband is from the US and we spent the first 6 months of our marriage living there. I once accidentally found a loaded handgun inside a hat in my MILs closet while looking for some bug spray in her spare Avon stash.

The US is a completely different world in regards to public safety (even the police might shoot you, whereas that hardly ever happens here as not even our standard police carry guns) and I felt very relieved when we returned to London, despite living on a council estate then known as ‘The Heroin Capital of Europe’.

Posie is simply working with the situation as it is. I was really quite indifferent to her until Brighton since then I have begun to really admire her.

I appreciate you’ll probably think im being dense, but ive no idea what your point was

it really (at the start) seemed that you were annoyed that men were protecting KJK from men

but ive no real idea

ArabellaScott · 05/11/2022 17:56

Sunday, I'm trying to understand what you mean.

You don't like women being assaulted?

Snap.

You think women shouldn't ask for it by speaking out in public? Or have I misunderstood?

OP posts:
TheClogLady · 05/11/2022 18:23

Surely Sunday cannot mean that women should stop speaking in order to avoid the wrath of men?

That would be proper fucking bonkers talk in 2022!

Well no one could seriously mean that could they?

Sometimes it’s just enough to go “hmhmph… uhh… I … um… not sure…. shouldn’t…. a bad… vaguery vagueness… casty…. apse… aspersions-y …. hmmm… I mmm”

”What are you saying?”

”See. Proves my point all along. You are a bunch of meanie-bums”

~ flounce.

Hepwo · 05/11/2022 18:31

The general impression I'm getting is that it's just too trashy, heading out to the USA and hanging out all over with Americans and getting yourself on TV, when you could be preaching to the converted in a Brighton feminist salon.

Ouch! That is to the point.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 06/11/2022 09:19

I see we never got to the bottom of precisely what it is about women speaking out and using the resources at their disposal to protect themselves while they do it that makes @Sundaymorningtoday so uncomfortable

when you can articulate why, come on back

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/11/2022 10:39

Well, I think my point is proved.

Did you make a point? I missed that.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/11/2022 10:39

Well, I think my point is proved.

Did you make a point? I missed that.

The point I took away was if you write a contradictory, vague post, that doesn't make any sense and makes even less sense when you attempt to clarify it, but right at the bottom you write sits back and prepares to be jumped on, in brackets...then you're gonna be right about something.

I don't think you had a clear point to start with.

Not one that you were comfortable admitting the final destination point of in any case.

Pitiful turn out in Miami. Guess people don't want to be associated with pepper spraying kids.

Revealing speech at the end from the GOP chap claiming trans inclusion is 'satanic' and leads to paedophilia. What a bunch of nasty cranks, not surprised they can barely pull in double figures.

Just looked at this. The numbers are tiny. And yes the GOP representative is a total crank and spoke as if it was a GOP rally by thanking people for coming.

antelopevalley · 06/11/2022 13:03

@Wightlotus Thanks for that, I would have had no idea who he was.

Ouch! That is to the point.

You are really going to argue that spending thousands flying to America and travelling all over is the non-elitist option?
Whereas setting something up where you live is the elitist option?

If the numbers are tiny why do you even care? Seriously Why does it means so much to you? Tiny numbers happening in another country over something you're not interested in.

It's just bizarre.

beastlyslumber · 06/11/2022 13:18

@antelopevalley I don't think anyone is going to be able to take anything you say seriously after the shit you pulled with your 'feminism' thread. You're just a hater.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 06/11/2022 13:31

So instead of listening to the women that were brave enough to speak out in Miami, the lib fems prefer to centre the lone male in their discourse. What a surprise.

Do you think his use of the word "Satanic" may have been a bit of rhetoric?

In the countless examples of boundaries between adults and children and safeguarding being completely nullified in the name of trans rights, do you agree that there is evidence to suggest that unfettered and poorly thought through legislation on trans exclusion has and will lead to access to those with nefarious intentions like paedophiles?
