Standing for women - Portland rally cancelled over violent threats

Not quite sure what's happened - seems there were credible threats to women's lives over these protests.

twitter.com/StandingforXX

Now it seems a few women went ahead and met up and were attacked. (Nobody seriously hurt as far as I can tell)

Hoping everyone is safe and well.

It would under UK laws be far more serious to mace kids in the face.

Yes, but then, you (rightly) can’t buy mace in the UK.

livvyposts · 31/10/2022 16:53

Back To Kellie Jay's security, it seems he is also close to the This Is Texas Freedom Force, described by the FBI as “an extremist militia group”: www.tpr.org/texas/2021-01-31/the-fbi-calls-it-an-extremist-militia-what-exactly-is-this-is-texas-freedom-force

'One of them' according to those tweets although he now denies it and says they are just friends.

Do people seriously believe that Kellie Jay went through the phone book and just happened to come across a security company run by a virulent transphobe with links to right wing militia groups?

I suspect it's far more likely he came recommended by her right wing friends who have also been the ones winding up her about gangs of heavily armed 'anteefa' roaming the cities and all the other crank conspiracy theories now virulent in the extreme right fringes of the Republican Party and Patriot movement.

That's how it works is it? A child does something objectionable and the gloves come off? Pepper spray, offensive sexist comments about her appearance, what else becomes acceptable?

I sincerely hope you have nothing to do with children.

And was the pepper spray from the lone woman using it, Jeanna? When did that happen? Or was it drift from when the male sprayed Jeanna?

Unless you can be absolutely certain, it is best to stop making the accusations.

And if you are happy for children to have been in that mob, then I suspect that it is you who should not have anything to do with children.

Particularly at the end when it really turned into a mob.

deepwatersolo · 31/10/2022 16:54

Depends if the mace was directed at the kid or not.
Intent is a very important factor in law and sentencing. Not just in the UK.

deepwatersolo · 31/10/2022 16:57

From what I can see there was intent of the spitting child to spit at a person that did not threaten them.
I haven‘t seen any evidence regarding how the mace ended in the child‘s face, so intent is not certain, nor the source.

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 16:57

I have watched that video now.

Could anyone defending the mob, those intimidating women, explain to me how it is not a violent act to follow a crowd who is leaving and continue the intimidation?

Anyone?

Sure, think that you are the victors because the mostly middle aged women have been so intimidated by your vile behaviour and that students were there and the women judged that when enough students were there that it was time to shut the rally down. (I mean, they don't seem to have the self-awareness to process that I imagine).

But to then follow those people? REally? That is deemed acceptable?

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 16:59

From what I can see there was intent of the spitting child to spit at a person that did not threaten them.

There was a whole lot of spitting going on. If this was my child, I would be furious that they felt that this was acceptable and 'not assaulting' people.

Would livvyposts care to tell us whether spitting is acceptable or not?

deepwatersolo · 31/10/2022 17:00

You can‘t expect the SA to denounce SA tactics, Helleofabore.

antelopevalley · 31/10/2022 17:00

SA?

IcakethereforeIam · 31/10/2022 17:02

I've been wondering about that too.

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 17:04

Video of spraying. twitter.com/Ayrshirelass13/status/1586284839279345664?Tweet from Jeanne that it was a girl. Tweet from Jeanna that she had bear mace as well as pepper spray.

Neither of these videos show this person being sprayed. And listening to their voice, even at the end there was no 'spraying' incident.

And yet, this person claimed to have 'evidence'. Where is it? And where is the proof that it was Jeanna that sprayed them and not someone else.

Whoever sprayed them, I hope they are investigated, but there is something missing in this account.

antelopevalley · 31/10/2022 17:08

The spraying is shown in the full video. Times have been given by another poster.
The open carry photo. No idea who the woman is carrying, but she is at the event after Tacoma with Kellie-Jay and Meghan.

Have name changed for this as I am asking in good faith and really don't want to get jumped on.

I've been trying to keep up with what's happening in the States on PP's tour and keep finding myself wondering what the purpose of it is/was?

It looks like scarily small groups of women trying to speak in public who are being verbally abused and physically attacked by mainly men, but some women too. The location of the events are widely broadcast, but not many women are attending (don't blame them, neither would I it looks far too scary and also distance travelling for many women) but lots of aggressors are.

I get that it's to 'let women speak' but women speak in hundreds of different ways every day that don't put their safety at risk.

Not saying that the events shouldn't have happened, just wondering what the intended purpose was if anyone knows?

TIA

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 17:35

And just to add, both Jeanna and the guy who was standing blocking through out, while having males right up in his face the entire time (a sure act of hostility and not peaceful protesting at all!) were walking backwards to protect some others in front and to keep an eye on the protestors who continued to follow them. (including the person reporting to be 14).

And there is a something being shouted at a lesbian in that video too.

That long video that has been posted is actually rather enlightening when you watch it.

You can see the crowd building from what was to start with as just a small group of mostly peaceful protestors just a few who are hyper aggressive to fill in with students around the time that KJK finished it and left. Then when the people, both men and women who had been standing to hold the mob back broke lines, the mob moved in and 'mobbed' people. April got attacked. The crowd then followed with the violence and intimidation... and spitting.

Sorry, the times for that person being sprayed who was in there spraying string stuff or the spitter who started to get violent?

Or what I actually, and others have also, asked for? The person who says they are 14 and saying they were sprayed. That you posted a video of that doesn't show them being sprayed at all.

Where is the evidence that this person was sprayed?

If there is none, perhaps the accusations against Jeanna Hoch or any other woman at that event for 'spraying' that person should stop until a police investigation.

antelopevalley · 31/10/2022 17:43

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 16:45

Yes, red cap sprays silly string stuff at Jeanna and Jeanna sprays them back with that spray. Around 21.55

At 39.07 the person who tells us they are 14 is shown spitting. They have the same necklace as in the video they posted of themselves.

I just scrolled back to find the times already posted on the thread. I did say it had been posted already.

antelopevalley · 31/10/2022 17:44

Both times Jeanna sprays. Two separate incidents.

I believe the intended purpose is to 'let women speak'. Kellie Jay did an event some time ago in the USA and this was a tour to allow more women to do the events such as they are done here.

It really seems that the police are not interested in keeping groups apart like the British police have been doing. Maybe this is a steep learning curve for any of those attempting to organise these events. It seems to be an even more violent place to have women speaking.

did you even read my post?

Neither of these incidents are the person who claimed to be 14 years old!

And did you even notice that it was ME who posted the times? Do you think I would ask about incidents that I posted times for?

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 17:51

@livvyposts and @antelopevalley

Where is the evidence that the 14 year old person was sprayed?

It keeps being mentioned, but so far there is nothing to say that it was any of the women present who sprayed them.

Instead there is a whole lot of assuming and accusations. Please stop with the unfounded accusations unless you have proof!

antelopevalley · 31/10/2022 17:51

I said that is the video there is available. The 14 year old girl says she was sprayed but I haven't seen any video of it.
There is no need to be so rude.

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 17:54

antelopevalley · 31/10/2022 14:18

I did not claim all those things.

  1. Video of spraying. twitter.com/Ayrshirelass13/status/1586284839279345664?Tweet from Jeanne that it was a girl. Tweet from Jeanna that she had bear mace as well as pepper spray.
  2. Tweet that a man Jeanne sprayed was probably an undercover cop. This is obviously not known for sure. Added in second post.
  3. Photo of woman open carrying at latest event in photo with Posie and Lierre. Added in second post.
  4. I did not say 4. I talked about ethics. You are getting me mixed up with another poster.

You posted a video as 'evidence' in reply to this post.

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 17:56

Ok.

So there is no evidence at all that any of the women sprayed that person who says they are 14, who spits at people, who follows behind women leaving an area after being mobbed continuing to yell at them and join in the mob behaviour.

What other accusations are going to keep being levelled at this group of women? (and livvyposts I am talking about the women who sought to speak at this event, just to repeat for clarity)
