Standing for women - Portland rally cancelled over violent threats

Not quite sure what's happened - seems there were credible threats to women's lives over these protests.

twitter.com/StandingforXX

Now it seems a few women went ahead and met up and were attacked. (Nobody seriously hurt as far as I can tell)

Hoping everyone is safe and well.

When you say women which group do you mean? The group who have accused SFW of pepper spraying them or SFW themselves. Why is only one of these mixed sex groups women?

I am talking about the women who are speaking. Are you honestly going to tell us that the majority of those protesting the women speaking were not male?

And having now watched these protests in both the UK and these happening in the USA, the mode of operation is very similar. The difference seems to be that in the UK, the police attempt to keep separation despite the mob tactics.

I really don’t know what you are attempting to prove on this thread. Your posts are quite often exaggerations or inaccurate.

And now you are trying to what? Imply the women’s group was not the majority women (and didn’t any males speak? I might have missed them) because there were some males there?

Have you been to any speakers corner style events? KJK only allows males to speak at the end when every other female single who wants to speak has. And there are only a hand full of males attending. There are plenty who stop and listen and then move on. But only a handful who are attending.

Your attempts at framing the women attending these events as part of Standing for Women are not ‘just as bad as’ the mob set on intimidation.

The person in the red dress seems to be constantly ignored on this thread too. The one with a huge stick as posted up thread. What was that stick for?

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 30/10/2022 22:06

This is the lead up to the second alleged incident, but it doesn't show it. Turn the sound on for this. Seriously. Note that the pepper spray guy in the mask comes into view, ahead of the person filming. They say someone from SFW sprayed them. Other people say the pepper spray guy sprayed the SFW women, and the blowback got the teens he was next to.

By the way, the Portland event was cancelled due to significant threats. The brave women who turned up still had pies pushed into or thrown at their faces.

So two events that were violently protested, where women who turned up to speak about their needs and their experiences were assaulted.

Swinging at women, according to tweets from women who were there. He's also alleged to have thrown a sign so hard at a woman that it made her bleed.

Here's a link to a video where he rushes the speaker from behind. One of the audience members spots him and steps in to push him back.

Fuck! That person seems to have been about to assault the woman speaking!!! That is abhorrent.

And yes, I read they also assaulted with a sign and caused bleeding wound .

Well. I hope they report that incident and let the police investigate.

Helleofabore · 30/10/2022 22:35

Thanks pots

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 30/10/2022 22:46

Red dress meant the speaker harm. Red dress was not going in for a cuddle. It takes three people to push him away.

That confused me. The tweet says "This is the truth of when we got sprayed", but the footage doesn't show anyone getting sprayed. I thought at first someone from SFW had posted it, but it's one of the students.

livvyposts · 30/10/2022 22:58

I don't know what the make up of each crowd was, I wasn't there, but there were certainly both women and men in both groups.

Anyway the truth will out in time. I think the most significant aspect of these events is that for all the talk in gender critical circles of safeguarding and no sacred castes when it really mattered - when a child alleges they were seriously assaulted - it all goes out the window. Instead of a comprehensive investigation and the woman accused being asked not to attend future events until that takes place we get at best an attempt to sweep the alleged assault under the carpet and at worse smears and counter claims against the victim - a child. Kellie Jay and co's antics have blown a big hole in the credibility of the gender critical movement and no matter how things play out this won't be forgotten.

As an aside it would be reassuring to know if the men she's now got strutting round with guns have had whatever the equivalent of a DSB check is over there, or are they just a bunch of local hired hard men. An organisation which took safeguarding seriously would have insisted on this as a bare minimum and reassured future attendees that was the case.

This is a video they thought made them look like the victims. And in it, you can hear someone (the teen next to JJ the spitting teenager, who alleged that someone from SFW sprayed her) snarl, "you're a fucking lesbian".

What's in the footage they haven't put on the internet?!

Interesting, that student also claims a phone was thrown at a freshman (a 14/15 year old) and broke their tooth: twitter.com/Legion_Blight/status/1586314661414469632

And that 6 year olds were caught up in the pepper spraying: twitter.com/Legion_Blight/status/1585795503459282945

The allegations keep coming ...

I'm beginning to feel embarrassed for you. SFW women already did object to Jeanna's actions, just like you say that they should have. There's already been a public statement from them. I'll see if I can find it.

This is a quote from Jeanna

LIERRE KEITH! Watch the video. She & another woman approached me, not the man who maced me, to scold me. She didn't even ask me if I was ok, told me I instigated having to defend myself, told me I am not welcome at events if I don't sign NVDA, and then lied to KJK about...con't

ScreamingMeMe · 30/10/2022 23:13

Some pretty serious allegations there. Multiple projectiles thrown. A broken tooth. The girl who is allergic to bear mace being taken to hospital. There will surely be evidence of this, and they are saying a police report has beeb made.

I did however find this in the replies (there's a video accompanying the tweet):

"Stop lying. Your side threw the phone after attacking and snatching it from a woman as you all mobbed and surrounded her."

Regardless of who did what, I am starting to think that this was a bad idea. The US is crazy. A tinderbox, as someone put it.

It was certainly a bad idea to hold the event so close to a school, an art school at that. Or perhaps this was another one of Kellie Jay's genius provocations.

I'd be ineterested to see it, there's nothing on their twitter, in fact the top tweet is a retweet of someone accusing the counter protesters of using 'child shield tactics'. Which doesn't sound very contrite.

And a statement isn't anywhere near enough after an allegation like this., A 14 year old girl claims she was seriously hurt and will no doubt be deeply traumatised by this event. Pepper spray is agonising, there's a reason it's banned by the Geneva Convention and most sensible countries, I sincerely hope she has access to good counselling. But an investigation is the bare minimum surely, not just a few glib statements on social media.

Merida46 · 31/10/2022 01:15

Twitters moderating teams are dominated by TRAns activists who allow violent threats against women but ban women who state that transwomen aren’t women. Hopefully, since Musk has fired a lot of the woke managers, those women who have been unjustly banned will be allowed to return.

Helleofabore · 31/10/2022 06:54

This thread has turned into a situation where a poster is flinging whatever mud they can to see what sticks.

DBS checks? Safeguarding for protestors?

All of this is sparple. It is all distraction.

Women should be able to stand in a public space where they are legally allowed and speak into a microphone without this violence and attempts to silence them.

Women should not have to worry about being attacked. They should be absolutely ready to answer rebuttals and should also respect a women who has an alternative opinion using the microphone.

That they are being attacked and people are focused on picking apart were there males in that SFW crowd, do the security guards (not strutting but standing and being alert) DBS checked, and continuing to attempt to paint the women speaking and singing at the events as being ‘equally as bad’ is significantly missing the point.

The mob that declares themselves as being the ‘most tolerant’ is the mob that is attempting to silence others. They are the mob that is doing so not via their unshakable grasp on facts that show the huge breaks in logic, but via intimidation at the very least, violence and physical harm at the worst. They are the mob whose logic is being shown to be broken.

They are the mob whose very presence and actions at these rallies show themselves to be the very opposite of what they declare themselves to be. They are all things hypocritical.

There is no tolerance in their actions at all.

Livvy you must me on some serious drugs 😂.

The mutilation of children, rape of women in prisons, men in dresses masturbating in womens toilets and changing rooms( videos uploaded on line for all to see), men cheating in women's sports, men threatening women online and in person for speaking.

That's just a small take of the trans movement.......how you lot manage to hold your heads up in public is beyond my comprehension.

ScreamingMeMe · 31/10/2022 07:29

The Tacoma meeting was held in a public square. That's why the location was chosen. We seem to be getting into conspiracy theory land now.

"Kellie Jay and co's antics have blown a big hole in the credibility of the gender critical movement and no matter how things play out this won't be forgotten."

I sincerely hope it's not forgotten. The rabid violence used to silence women needs broadcasting far and wide.

From here on, every time women legally speak about their rights in public, the authorities need to uphold the law and ensure they can.

That will be enough.

Look there’s a squirrel!!!

The squirrels on this thread are many and not new either.

This was a public place and out in the open.

Why are posters so determined to make out these students left their own school grounds of their very own determination and joined the attempt to silence women? And seem to be well involved in spitting and assaulting women who were attempting to tell their stories.

The students were there through their own choices. What should have be a peaceful rally, with the protestors standing back and chanting should have been no danger to either students or the women speaking or attending the rally.

That didn’t happen. The mob formed and used intimidation, and when that didn’t work, violence.

The principal of the school was there walking around the students! And we have a poster here blaming women for lack of safeguarding!!

So now women shouldn’t speak in case the public space they are speaking in happens to be any where near a secondary school?

In case that secondary school has such lax policy on students joining mobs intimidating women speaking words those students don’t want to hear and words those students could ignore.

So not only are women responsible for adult male voilence, but also for student violence?

Do you even think about your own words and follow the logic to see the end result?

Hey wims!! Don’t speak unless you are in a box where no one else can hear you, just in case those people with no self control at all are incited to violence towards you!!!

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 31/10/2022 07:51

Why is it ‘strutting round with guns’?

i mean is that a thing now? Is carrying a gun the Saturday night fever version of walking?

ArabellaScott · 31/10/2022 07:51

Women should especially be silent around art schools?!
