I'm surprised it took ELO so long to leave, to be honest. His repetitive posts have become so boring, and now even to him!
One thing I have noticed lately, is, for instance, women being aghast at certain links, etc, things which have been around for several years, and had threads about them even. Or asking for evidence of statistics.
In other words new people. Freshly shocked. A bit sceptical, but interested.
These issues, despite being a political hot potato, are still not on the radar for a lot of people. Particularly, the profound repercussions for women and children.
Most people don't bother to take any notice. Lives are busy, money is short. And it's only interesting when it directly affects them. And the nature of this ideology, is that it will spread, and spread, and it will affect more and more women and their children.
So although, here, on mumsnet, women are generally in agreement, never forget, that there are new people arriving all the time.
And tedious though it is, the painstaking refutation of posts like those of ELO, will be useful.
Showing up the really quite proud misogyny, too. The obvious enjoyment of 'messing with the wims'.
It would've been better for ELO if they hadn't been quite such a typical representative of the movement. People could just dismiss their comments as more rants from an MRA.
Put it this way, I don't imagine other transactivists are at all happy about how many women are watching one of their rep's marvellous display of misogyny.
Or maybe they are. They are masters of the own goal, after all.
