Nadine Dorries replacing Sajid Javid would be excellent for women and girls.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/07/2022 18:45

Presumably it serves their interests in some way...

Of course it does - they get to give an appearance of distancing themselves from the filth, and move into position for any leadership contest

Brideandprejudice · 05/07/2022 18:46

Sadly I think this truly is the end for BoJo

Come on Liz Truss, you next please.

Liz Truss is being touted as a potential Johnson replacement. I'd be loathe to say she'd be any worse than the incumbent, but REALLY? The woman's a certified idiot.

achillestoes · 05/07/2022 18:47

Dorries as Health Secretary, probably.

Truss as Chancellor, promote Badenoch?

He's a habitual liar, corrupt, sexually incontinent, lazy, a lawbreaker ... that's a bit more than demons.

Agreed, but none of those things are a bar to high office these days. His problem is that he lacks the basic competence in the job which alone could make his faults tolerable.

Nadine Dorries has no place in the House of Commons.

MarshaBradyo · 05/07/2022 18:48

I have no idea why Truss is even a consideration it’s madness

I cannot listen to her non answers in interviews

Just anyone else -who has resigned would be better

achillestoes · 05/07/2022 18:48

@Tabitha005

She’s an ex grammar school kid with an Economics degree from Cambridge, isn’t she? She’s not an idiot.

Well we'll find out now if Johnson is truly a sociopath. He has to resign tonight and walk away with at least some integrity. If he were to stay now I'd be very worried.

MoltenLasagne · 05/07/2022 18:33

There are lift and drop sentences in Rishi and Sajid's letters so it's clearly been planned together. Wonder if anyone else is in on it.

Yes, there’s clearly a co-ordinated behind the scenes attempt to clean up the Conservative party’s brand in advance of the next election.

I’m wondering what Gove is up to.

Iamacatslave · 05/07/2022 18:49

Rats are leaving the sinking ship.

Callipygion · 05/07/2022 18:49

Rats deserting the sinking ship. Hope the captain stays on board to see it to the bottom.

That’s….terrifying. What the fuck does he know that we don’t? I can’t think of anything I know about government that’s too good to be true. Unbelievable, yes. Too good to be true, no.

Obviously written together, too. A good start. I can’t see Johnson resigning unless, well, I can’t. He’ll have have to be sacked. Can they do that?

Also, Johnson is misogyny personified and couldn’t run a bath. You need some insight into your competence before you can admit it’s lacking, and some integrity in you heart before you care if impacts anyone else. And he has neither. He’s Zaphod Beeblebrox without the style. Who next. Oh, fuck. Not JRM? Can’t someone expose him to sunlight and….poof! Sunak will have the NHS jointed up and auctioned off to subsidiaries of his wife’s companies before he sits down to tea on his first day in number ten. Javid, I don’t know. Best have a quick GE, so we can blame the public again.

LondonJax · 05/07/2022 18:50

Nadine Dorres can't find her way into the Commons without following Boris - she's an absolute numpty!

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 05/07/2022 18:52

Does Rory Stewart have friends in the cabinet?

He's bright, and articulate and had enough principles to leave when they voted Boris in.

I'd like to see him back on the books.

Callipygion · 05/07/2022 18:52

I think I’ve wandered into the twilight zone - Boris Johnson not bad? Dozy Dorries taking over? I hope you’re all being sarcastic.

Eeksteek · 05/07/2022 18:52

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 05/07/2022 18:15

It's taken them a fucking long time to find their backbones...

Their wallets were in the way.

HereInMyHeed · 05/07/2022 18:44

Nadine Dorries replacing Sajid Javid would be excellent for women and girls.

She’s an anti abortion campaigner isn’t she? That isn’t good for women and girls.

AmaryIlis · 05/07/2022 18:54

Might he try to bring Hancock back in? Though appointing and adulterer in the current climate might not be the best look.

Provenceinthesummer · 05/07/2022 18:55

Erm - Johnson isn’t going anywhere this is not a thunderbolt moment, this was totally expected, and planned for. The only surprise is that it took them so long.

Of course he isn’t going to resign. Why would he? It is going to take much more than that!

ThickCutSteakChips · 05/07/2022 18:55

I honestly think that if the Tories got rid of Boris and rebranded before the next election, they would fairly easily win it. Michael Gove would be a disaster surely, everyone thinks he is a prize knob.

Unless Labour seriously pull their finger out of their arsehole in the next few months they are screwed.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 05/07/2022 18:55

wasn't it Sajid who was saying the NHS needed to resurrect using "woman" in patient leaflets?

That's a bit tricky, we need that.

fromdownwest · 05/07/2022 18:56

These two are just distancing BJBJ from his impending fall off the throne. They can then step in as leadership challengers.

MarshaBradyo · 05/07/2022 18:56

Who will be Chancellor?

it’s a hugely influential position right now - given how much all our lives are impacted
