In fairness I don't think Allison was defensive whereas he definitely has been.

MaudeYoung · 13/05/2022 17:00

"I've just read LT's barrister profile and it looks as though he has done some incredible work advocating for victims of state and organisational abuse. I'm actually finding it really sad that he's kind of falling apart like this."

This might be because he is not in control of the situation, Ben Cooper is in control.

I've just read LT's barrister profile and it looks as though he has done some incredible work advocating for victims of state and organisational abuse. I'm actually finding it really sad that he's kind of falling apart like this. It feels what happened to Allison happened under his distracted eye but not by his direction.

Yes I was going to say the same thing. Seriously impressive CV. I feel a bit sad that he is coming across like this too.

I also find it very odd that any lawyer, presented with a legal statement such as 'this is a problem under the Equalities Act' doesn;t go and look it up and decide for themselves! IANAL but I work with the law a lot and when I am presented with something that isn't my area I quite often go and look up the relevant act.

To just take on trust that a respected member of chambers (and he said they were all respected) is doing something illegal with no justification is weird.

Monday is Menon as a witness for GCC and then two Stonewall witnesses.

The timetable has moved on and they need witness testimony to be finished by 27 May. It was supposed to be 23 May.

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/05/2022 17:03

I find IO quite annoying in her style

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/05/2022 17:04

Oh Mr Knan on Monday can't wait

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/05/2022 17:04

Menon? I've lost track

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/05/2022 17:04

Oh and Mia will be joining us another treat

ickky · 13/05/2022 17:05

Why are they not announcing the names of the SW witness's? Is this to protect them?

SelfPortraitWithFoxInSmokingJacket · 13/05/2022 17:05

Wait, so is Nancy Kelly not being called?

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 13/05/2022 17:05

Ok so presumably they're not worried that now we know who is up next that we won't spend the weekend attacking them.

nauticant · 13/05/2022 17:05

Mia Haki-Law will be after Menon followed by Maya Sikand.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 13/05/2022 17:06

They did. It's Knan and I didn't catch the other. Is it Menon?

nauticant · 13/05/2022 17:07

Wait, so is Nancy Kelly not being called?

Witnesses are put forward by each side so if Stonewall prefer not to put forward Kelley, she won't be giving evidence.

nauticant · 13/05/2022 17:08

Upcoming witnesses: two Stonewall witness, and then for GCC, Menon followed by Mia Haki-Law followed by Maya Sikand.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 13/05/2022 17:12

I keep expecting BC to announce his next witness will be Noggin the Nog. I'm old. But what a lovely voice.

Xenia · 13/05/2022 17:12

Thanks for the updates everyone.
(I agree with the point above - if someone tells me a law even outside my area like covid laws or something like that I don't take it on trust as I am a lawyer - I want to read the precise words in the legislation)

2fallsfromSSA · 13/05/2022 17:12

Who are they all? Do we know?

2fallsfromSSA · 13/05/2022 17:12

As in, what roles do they/did they play?

SelfPortraitWithFoxInSmokingJacket · 13/05/2022 17:13

I heard Suit-Smith? Is that a Stonewall person? Shouldve Googled first.

MaudeYoung · 13/05/2022 17:13

Nancy Kelley became CEO in 2020 so what happened with Allison Bailey is outside of her period of office. Ruth Hunt was CEO at that time.

SelfPortraitWithFoxInSmokingJacket · 13/05/2022 17:15

Sood-Smith, apparently.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 13/05/2022 17:15

Yeah. Just found him too. Sanjay Sood-Smith.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 13/05/2022 17:18

Doesn't work there anymore.

Mollyollydolly · 13/05/2022 17:18

He was on The Apprentice apparently ..
