The Tribunal will start on 25th April at 10am. If you would like to view online you need to send a request for access as early as possible.

Send an email to

[email protected]

The subject heading of the email request should read

“MEDIA OR PUBLIC ACCESS REQUEST – Case number 2202172/2020 - Ms A Bailey – 25th April 2022.

Then ask for the pin for the online access.

You will be contacted with instructions on how to observe the hearing.

I have sent a request but haven't had anything back yet. Hopefully nearer the time.

Sorry to sound like a broken record but my God, this is beyond crazy now. Although it does somewhat prove the point about the difficulty of navigating the bundle…..

Signalbox · 03/05/2022 15:22

Lol Mr Lue is a cocky so and so.

Whilst it's fun to watch virtually, it's not really essential and if it's the reason that delaying tactics work then it won't have been worth it IMO

I don't see this as fun, it's my duty as a citizen to attend important hearings like this where possible (I can't today).

It should be an everyday occurrence that we have access to court hearings.

I regret the cuts to the justice system enormously. As a public citizenry we won't understand it nor care sufficiently about it unless we can watch the sausage being made.

Mr Lue, you should have got a headset microphone. And hurry up with the page numbers! Type in the page numbers, you know that! Do not scroll, you are wasting time.

Everyone should be totally up to date with IT requirements and settings these days. Saying that, I usually use Teams or Zoom, not this software.

It almost looks deliberate, doesn't it? Agree watching it is not worth it if then not enough time to get through it all.

If it was in person then we may not be able to watch virtually.

I know, but at the moment it feels like the delays, bundle issues, access issues, people being disruptive in the chat, what they are wearing, audio and so on would NOT happen in court in person. And these are at best a distraction, and worst quite serious with regards to a proper hearing.

VestofAbsurdity · 03/05/2022 15:23

The whole thing sounds like an omnishambles par excellence.

Is this really how the EAT want to look to the wider world?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 03/05/2022 15:24

Mr Lue was a bit rude to our lovely, Ben, too!

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 03/05/2022 15:25

Signalbox · 03/05/2022 15:22

Lol Mr Lue is a cocky so and so.

He is but not so much so now. Why isn't he answering the question?

Baystard · 03/05/2022 15:25

How on earth, after two years of lockdown etc, is someone working as a law professional, unable to work a document find function or an online meeting. It isn't believable and it doesn't inspire confidence in garden court, hardly glowing PR.

Oh my god Ben has such a good poker face, it would be obvious from mine that I wanted to throttle the witness.

Yes, Justice has to be seen to be done.

tabbycatstripy · 03/05/2022 15:27

Mr Lue is prominent in the bundle.

ickky · 03/05/2022 15:27

BC taking off the kid gloves.

Motorina · 03/05/2022 15:27

Okay I'm now in. I can see a list of participants. But otherwise it's just a black screen with 'noone is presenting'. Help?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 03/05/2022 15:28

Why is he addressing the Judge, when Ben is asking the question??

I don't care for Mr Lue.

ickky · 03/05/2022 15:28

Also why is Mr Lue directing his answers to the judge?

OP posts:
IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 03/05/2022 15:28

What a rude individual this Mr Lue is!!!
Funny, on the GCC website they say a couple of times how Mr Lue is known for his 'respectfulness' - he is clearly anything but

Ameanstreakamilewide · 03/05/2022 15:28

Jinx!

PurpleDrain · 03/05/2022 15:29

I was going to say why on earth isn’t everyone on mute apart from Ben and mr Lue

Signalbox · 03/05/2022 15:31

ickky · 03/05/2022 15:28

Also why is Mr Lue directing his answers to the judge?

I think it's how it's done. Barrister asks the questions, answers are to the tribunal.

tabbycatstripy · 03/05/2022 15:32

'We'll take this very slowly.'

Killing me, BC.

Wauden · 03/05/2022 15:32

Some people might suggest that Mr Lue is being less than helpful to the Tribunal.

He is not answering questions.
He made a delay with a the headset.
He is making feedback noises.

ickky · 03/05/2022 15:33

Signalbox · 03/05/2022 15:31

I think it's how it's done. Barrister asks the questions, answers are to the tribunal.

Just seems a bit rude, like he won't directly answer BC.

Motorina · 03/05/2022 15:37

I'm in!

I chair remote tribunals so should find this straightforward, and I literally have no idea if I'm muted or my camera is off or not. This software is ... not good. I've folded up a piece of packaging and put over my camera, and am trying to be very quiet.

If anyone can see me (same username as this) please shout.

tabbycatstripy · 03/05/2022 15:37

Their actual defence seems to be "I'm going through a tunnel. I can't hear you."

Ameanstreakamilewide · 03/05/2022 15:37

Ear muffs??

Is Mr Lue being deliberately clueless here?
