My elderly mum as getting changed after her swimming lesson a few weeks ago. Some of her friends were naked. And much younger man, wearing a swimsuit, stride into the room and went into the shower.

I cannot tell you how frightened and upset she was.

How fucking dare you dismiss her reaction as ignorance. And no @BlindGirlMcSqueaky yoir views don't belong on the feminism board because they're not feminist. They're regressive and misogynist.

There is far too much tolerance and acceptance by some people of an ideology which is harmful to women and to children of both sexes.

The FWR board was split last year due to some people's insistence that they didn't want to discuss sex and gender issues. The Feminism:Chat board is there specifically for those who don't want to discuss topics such as sharing spaces.

For people who talk a hell of a lot about consent on this board, you're really trying to push someone into discussing something they don't want to? No, means no.

It's not that they don't want to discuss it. It's the attempts to beat people into submission if they dare to have a different view of the matter.

How awful your mum was frightened I hope she's ok. Did the person do something specific to frighten your mum?

I find the whole changing room debate bizarre I personally wouldn't get naked in front of men or women I don't know so I use a cubicle. I would be offended by other adults getting naked in front of my children. There is no other situation where it's appropriate to randomly strip off in front of others so I'm not sure why it is for exercise. Most changing rooms I've accessed for sport/swimming etc are mixed so everyone uses cubicles. It seems a much simpler and safer system.

So you think that the fact that 98% of sexual crime is totally irrelevant and that you are just as at risk from a woman as a man?

We already segregate spaces by sex - do you not agree with this then? Do you think everywhere, prisons, refuges, hospital wards etc should just be mixed sex? Allow men and women together and it will be fine?

Can you explain a bit more? I'd like to know why a few anonymous posters on here would push you away from feminism in general if you started out as a feminist. What is the 'attitude' that you dislike?

Except she's the one who keeps talking about it. One person raised it as an aside at the end of a long post, @BlindGirlMcSqueaky made a couple of statements about her views and then said I'm not discussing it.

Because transwomen are male and lots of women don't want males in spaces or sports , awards etc that are labelled as 'women only'.

My husband is a wonderful man, he has never committed a crime, he has never hurt anyone, he is not a threat to women.

Do you view keeping men out of women's spaces as 'punishment' for those men?

I do agree mn should be held accountable for these threads. There's all these calls on social media to better manage fake news and propaganda this is no different.
