How will we ever get these disgraceful Tories out, if Starmer keeps spouting this nonsense?

I mean, aside from wondering why on earth he's visiting soldiers in Estonia and banging on about TWAW, I am seriously wondering how we will ever get rid of these heartless Tories?

Labour seem intent on alienating half the population 😢

The Tories are so bad, you would think the opposition (labour, lib Dems, greens, anyone!!! ) would be able to seize the moment and take it away.
But no - they just keep telling us in 10 different ways how they don't want our votes.

Awkwardy · 13/03/2022 07:20

A "depressing fudge" according to the Sunday Times editorial today

We are stuck with the bloody tories until a party emerges that is capable of leadership and isn't actually insane.

At this point I would not care what noises Starmer or the Libdems or Greens made come out of their mouths; I don't want nice noises, I want sane politicians who are not male supremacist. I'll take corrupt, bumbling, uncaring muppets over that on frankly what's a better the devil you know basis.

yes. Talk about no viable voting option AT ALL. Ridiculous how we have got to this.

Imnobody4 · 13/03/2022 09:53

Having voted Labour all my life and not voting in the last few elections, I'm now ready to vote Tory. Well done Keir.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 13/03/2022 09:56

Agreed
I will not vote Labour at the moment. Just won't do it. I can't vote Tory either even though I actually really rate my local Tory MP who is totally GC and raised the flaws with the GRA in 2003
I'm fucked at the moment. I'll spoil my ballot if I have to.

Whitefire · 13/03/2022 09:57

It's not just this though is it, the opposition is seriously lacking on everything. There is no viable alternative being offered.

AlisonDonut · 13/03/2022 09:59

He's on the pitch, a foot away from the goal line. All he has to do is to tap the ball and it will roll straight in. The defence are at a party and eating sandwiches. Goalie is tying his shoelaces at the other end of the goal.

And yet Starmer still manages to get it up the other end of the pitch and into his own net - another home goal for the feckless Labour Leader.

Tories 1: Labour nil yet again.

Not scored in nearly a decade.

Surely it is time to hang up those boots?

He's too scared of elements of his own party to concede in any way that women might have any point at all, many of them didn't like him anyway. They'd crucify him (metaphorically, not literally, MN monitors)

Peasock · 13/03/2022 10:06

Ffs labour sort it out.

Please don't. Tories are no friends to women either.

I've been hoping for years now that Labour would split and we'd get the sane middle left socialists forming a new and realistic party. I honestly don't think there's any left now, they've all gone.

It's going to have to be something new from the ground up. And the past 20 years of professional politicians with zero life experience or grip on reality outside of their ideological ivory tower and nothing but PR and marketing to go on is a very large part of the problem.

Artichokeleaves · 13/03/2022 10:14

Hmm.

Do I want the party that's at least fence sitting on women's rights and shows some basic awareness that there's issues with all this?

Or the parties sworn to gallop women's rights away at high speed the second they get into power?

Gosh what a dilemma.

Oh I know, I left Labour during the Madigan shenanegans.

I guess in reality, Labour are just not able to ever get into power again [they have zero policies and refuse to listen to run of the mill normal voters] and it will take a new party to become the new opposition. Unfortunately it will be lead by some 'personality' and will just be more Tory than even the Tories dreamed they were capable of.

Happygirl79 · 13/03/2022 10:16

I think there will be a lot of people abstaining because there's no one worth voting for

MiladyBerserko · 13/03/2022 10:18

I wont vote for them either. They are a disgace. They are in an even worse state than when the Militant tendency Trots were running the party.

I think we have to resign ourselves to a lifetime of Tory administration or to create a new party.

KohlaParasaurus · 13/03/2022 10:26

Hoping for an independent candidate standing on a GC ticket, otherwise I can't imagine voting for any of them. My local MP is Tory, talks strong GC talk, and is unlikely to buckle under pressure, but he's an oaf in every other regard, he serves the local population very poorly, and I suspect he he is no friend of women, he just enjoys bashing transgender people.

Awkwardy · 13/03/2022 10:38

TRA types seem to think the Green Party England is lost, so that's a possibility

Kendodd · 13/03/2022 10:51

How come the Tories seem to get a completely free pass on this?
SELF ID is THEIR policy!
I haven't seen any Tory asked by the press what a women is.
The most vocal MP speaking against self ID I've seen is Rosie Duffeild , a LABOUR MP.
The Tories just voted down making misogyny a hate crime.
Rape convictions have collapsed under Tory rule, they might as well have made it legal.

MiladyBerserko · 13/03/2022 10:52

We need a party that stands for freedom of speech and basic egalitarian principles.

It's beyond parody that a new party should need to be formed to deliver these but here we are.

bishophaha · 13/03/2022 10:55

This exactly. It's one thing after another when most sensible people want a strong, capable, sensible opposition. I will never vote Tory but really don't know how to vote. Spoiling your ballot does nothing either.

Labour need to give their head a wobble and concentrate on what's important.

Kendodd · 13/03/2022 11:00

And can I add about the Tories that they'll led by a man who has completely slagging off single mother, talked about patting women on the bum and sending them on their way and described investigating historical sex abuse as spaffing money up the wall.
