One of the reasons it seems - in fact is - so inappropriate is that the implications are pretty weird. Is he suggesting there is some kind of connection between Russia attacking Ukraine and LGBT++++ issues? Are we supposed to base our sympathy for the Ukrainians on their attitudes to these things?
