Please sign into CSP and look at the new iCSP discussion "Stonewall and the CSP"

A great thread beginning and agreement that stonewall are problematic and women's rights are being overlapped by male rights

Then a HUGE ESSAY by a TRA

Sad

Phil Gray, have't thought about him in a while. Wonder what he'd make of all this?

Email today from CSP Stewards about CSP conference:

"...we are offering funded places and support to CSP members who would otherwise not be part of the 2023 conferences, to attend and benefit from the opportunities for development, networking and the sharing of knowledge and expertise.

We particularly welcome applications from physiotherapists, support workers and students facing economic barriers to attending and/or those from minority groups including people with disabilities, people who identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, and people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual plus."

  1. "Identify as Black, Asian, Minority ethnic" - is that even allowed? Do we 'identify as' race nowadays?
  2. So physios who are 'asexual' and 'plus' (whatever that means) will be prioritised. Does that include perimenopausal women who aren't up for doing the business as much will be prioritised? 😄

facing economic barriers to attending and/or those from minority groups

So wealthy people from the listed demographics can get funded places and support? Just yesterday the RAF was told its recruitment policies were illegal because they discriminated against white men...

stealtheatingtunnocks · 30/06/2023 19:37

good grief.

This is fine by me. Physiotherapy has long been a very white middle/class profession and I am all for opening it up. However, the "identifying as" is ridiculous. If you're Black or Asian then there's no way of identifying out of your ethnicity. I can identify as white until the cows come home but it doesn't mean I'll be treated the same as my white colleagues!

The rest though? Since when were people actively discriminated against and persecuted for being asexual??

Calyx72 · 01/07/2023 10:38

Exactly. It's the following of the gender ideology language to a fault and it makes me lose respect for these people who think it's the correct thing. If they engaged their brains maybe they would realise how wrong it is

How much money does the CSP pay? I’ll work for them, I know the script that they like. I can identify as “so worthy I can’t think”

RadFizz · 01/07/2023 16:07

Today was Pride, did CSP march?

Calyx72 · 01/07/2023 18:51

Rob He/him and the LGBQTIA CSP folk did, I see on Twitter

RadFizz · 01/07/2023 22:01

Oh I just saw the video on Rob's Twitter. Seems like CSP was all about the T today 🙄

northender · 02/07/2023 08:38

I just saw a tweet from RM with a group CSP pic

RadFizz · 02/07/2023 08:45

This is the vice chair of council on Twitter. Spot our old friend Mr Leather! https://twitter.com/ScouseAHPLeader/status/1675222117346861058?s=20

northender · 02/07/2023 11:14

I saw that too. And RM in full costume. Finding it all very odd. And sad.
I matched under the CSP flag at Tolpuddle Festival years ago and was so proud to do so. This feels very different and yes very much all about the T+

stealtheatingtunnocks · 02/07/2023 11:46

Will be watching for what they do for IWD.

leather fetishes don’t have much to do with MSK, do they?

Calyx72 · 02/07/2023 12:20

Here's hoping the CSP and others in the NHS (and elsewhere) have a think on calling gender critical therapist's' true and fair comments "transphobic" and censoring them, great news here

“Organisations are going to have to rethink all of their approach to equality and diversity to make sure they really are following the law and not just what activists tell them.”

Fetish man isn’t in charge now. I wonder why not

"New opportunities in my professional life" - I wonder if he was told to tone down the fetish stuff if he wanted to be involved with CSP? His Twitter disappeared a while back, if you all remember.

and his mastodon. And he’s not been marching with the leather men who are a significant group in gay culture.

Last time he marched he had antlers on his hat. I wonder if it was a joke about Jackalope’s but I can’t bothered googling incase it is what his Twitter was like.

RadFizz · 02/07/2023 21:55

I think it was his tweet about "predatory women" that might've been a step too far. He went quiet after that.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 12/07/2023 17:42

He was beaten as rep of the year.

Congratulations to Louise

He was nominated in a different category to Louise and was beaten by a woman called Uroosa Mayet. Who I suspect will know a damn sight more about discrimination than dear Jack.

OldJeans · 12/07/2023 20:09

Have received an email this week from the CSP wanting feedback on some things- used it as an opportunity to give feedback in some of the free text boxes. Hope others will do the same.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 16/07/2023 11:17

Elaine Miller is looking for GC physios on Twitter but the look of things.
