Please sign into CSP and look at the new iCSP discussion "Stonewall and the CSP"

A great thread beginning and agreement that stonewall are problematic and women's rights are being overlapped by male rights

Then a HUGE ESSAY by a TRA

Do we know who Jackson is? Does this deny my WORIADS?

No idea but I definitely agree it's not fair/right for CSP to remove any statement that trans women are male (or vice versa) for all the reasons we have said. It's compelled belief/Stonewall land.

I won't resign yet but am metaphorically holding my finger over the resign button. Will see how this pans out.

I can't believe how much we pay the CSP (only for insurance really) and this happens Envy

Absolutely it does!

Greycatwhitepaws · 10/08/2022 18:37

How can one discuss the interrelationship between sex and gender, if one is not able to discuss sex.

This is what I feel is coming to gender critical physiotherapists via our own union

Jackson Dempsey was a key CSP person when icsp started. Maybe in comms. I’m unsure what role he’s in now.

The shutting down of any sort of nuanced discussion about managing the needs of different people is so disappointing. As well as impacts on women, I’m not convinced that it serves trans people well to be considered exactly the same as people of the other sex.

@gussiegrips is much more eloquent about this but, if we consider people who are trans men to be men then do they receive the appropriate health messaging and care and the same for trans women.

I'm not sure I’m brave enough to go anywhere with this but I worry for all people accessing healthcare in a climate where there isn’t enough psychological safety to talk about challenging issues from different viewpoints where there can be competing needs at times.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 11/08/2022 00:40

I saw her Fringe show the other day. She doesn’t hold back about gender and sex in health. It is quite powerful, hearing a physio say “report me if you fee you need to, or come and talk to me”. I spoke a bit after, there are a lot of peoples wanting to talk so I just said I agreed and thanks and I’m watching iCSP. She said to be careful about what we post as it’s nt anonymous.

Maybe I’m reading to
much into it, but she is hard to disagree on this stuff, it’s as if she is goading someone into reporting ger. I don’t hunk the CSP or Edb committee know as much as she does, either the law or the physiology.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 11/08/2022 00:45

Oh, it was funny too! Very funny and clever. I like that she is bold to say the stuff most don’t. Both for the comedy and the drama.

I laughed am was horrified, often at the same time.

CSP didn’t remove her posts, did they?

RadFizz · 11/08/2022 07:25

Her posts are still there. I could've sworn she used to be on their spokespeople page but no longer is.

I am going on the 20th with my sister Grin

I've been following the threads on icsp and have been liking yours and Elaine's posts, just need to summon the courage to post myself now. I despair, I really do, that it has come to this

stealtheatingtunnocks · 12/08/2022 10:49

I have realised that I am actually upset by this. Not angry or scared, gutted.

my profession is going to be humiliated like the midwives were when Elaine Millar (it’s always her, isn’t it?) said a quote in the article about midwifery students being taught to catheterise penises. If my organisation says TWAW I need to leave because I don’t agree and don’t want to be linked with the terrible things done on the name of gender.

we have 2 women at the head of the body and union. I thought they were both great and I was expecting they’d get national honors for their work. But now, I think they will get sacked - how can weD an evidence based organisation - say such anti science and harmful nonsense?

the Buck stops with them. They either belive it too or are not brave enoygn to stand up to fetish man and RM and DB.

none If who have said anything on that thread. Even anonymous disagreement is missing.

I will be so cross if the women leading my organisation don’t at least listen to Elaine and Jack chew. They are not on their owne, plenty of us agree but at too scare to speak up.

what does that tell us about physiotherapy? I’m so upset. I love my job and am long qualified and I don’t worn to feel like it is a bullying organsiration

but it is.

Calyx72 · 12/08/2022 19:19

I totally agree FlowersWineGin
I am not leaving physio. I will keep trying for sense and professionalism from within I think (hope) xxx

Northender I am glad you agree as well. Don't worry about lurking and as Elaine said, be careful what you post on iCSP FlowersGinWine

Elaine has posted again, asking for a response to her question. Are the entire management team utterly incompetent or something? This is getting ridiculous and they need to provide answers.

RadFizz · 16/08/2022 17:57

Oh I see Rob has replied but his answer is neither here nor there.

"Are non-binary people literally without a sex?
Are animal-gendered people literally animals?
Are transwomen literally female?
[Moderated: Paragraph removed by website moderators 16/08/2022 3.40pm - Reason: contravention of Council view on what is transphobic - see section 4 of page one Council 29 June 2022 Key Messages]
During a professional discussion about sex and gender, on our own trade union website, we should be able to say this without being 'edited' (read: censored) because it is an actual fact.
We would not say it to a trans person's face because that would not be professional, eg treating that person with dignity, compassion and so on. We would treat that person as though they were the sex that they present as, unless as Elaine says, it is a situation where sex actually matters for that person's care. In which case it would be handled and discussed with sensitivity and compassion. Because we are professionals. "

Calyx72 · 16/08/2022 19:02

The removed part said no;
Non-binary people and
'Animal gendered' people are the sex they are
Transmen are female sexed and transwomen are male sexed

So it was removed.

Facts are deemed to be wrongthink and not allowed
