I might feel more relaxed about this if this was just students but, assuming that article is correct, that letter was also signed by university staff and had UCU support. It was also sent in August (according to the article) so I imagine similar things are going on in other unis. I think vice chancellors need to get a grip.

I think the wee flowers need a dose of the real world. They are old enough to face famine and genocide, natural disasters and people who live day to day, not knowing if they will eat - let alone ‘ooooo pronoun hate!!!’.

Yes, mulder, but I think it's a minority of a certain generation that are acting like this. Most people, including most young people, are not on board with pronoun guff. This will be a small section agitating from a small section of students who buy into it, from a small section of young people who've chosen to go to university, this particular university.

It's an extremist ideology that most people do not share.

Most other people are getting on with their lives, and hopefully there are plenty out there who are down to earth, common sense thinkers capable of both smelling out bullshit and tackling the issues that the next generation(s) face.

UCU is a complete joke. Anyone still paying their subs just isn’t paying attention.

I know a few Leeds employees (mostly middle aged men!) They're absolutely worse than the students and I wouldn't be surprised if staff were the drivers behind this.
