I have sensitive skin and have used Dove for years, this is VERY BAD NEWS for me. Sigh.

ArabellaScott · 02/08/2021 21:55

Ratio doing some heavy lifting there.

Sanex do a bar soap now. I don't know who make Sanex.

@Mulletsaremisunderstood

FFS why can't brands just sell products like they are supposed to. Does every brand have to be a social justice warrior?

We don't need moralising from a gigantic corporation thank you, especially not Unilever! You are not our friend, you are not our community, you are not one of us, you are trying to flog your merchandise. Please just do that.

No more Dove for me then.

I work on the assumption that brands who do this sort of thing must have something pretty grim in their background/employment/environmental record they're trying to distract from.

That, or they've handed over the tweety stuff to some blue haired, septum-ringed youngster in an anime t shirt and think it's ok to just leave them to it ("You let Dougal do a funeral?")

Yes I agree. Treat your staff well, and be ethical in your business decisions is the 'good' that these companies need to do it, I don't want to be told how to think.
ChewtonRoad · 02/08/2021 22:02

Sanex (I like their Sanex Zero% shower gel) is owned by Colgate-Palmolive, who bought the brand from Unilever.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 02/08/2021 22:03

Well Dove.

For all your real women and loving the skin you are in type campaigns?

I love the skin I’m in even though I’m a bit of a heifer.

I will be loving it without Dove on it from now on.

There is a woman who didn’t get to go to the Olympics. If you celebrate the one that made it, what would you do to compensate the one that did not?

Clue? You cannot. They will never get to go to the 2021 Olympics again.

Well LH certainly didn't do much of that today.
OnTheBoardwalk · 02/08/2021 22:05

You know what I’m very rarely impacted by these comments, my bad I know, but this has an impact on me

MN did tell me not to us Dove for my sweaty armpits but ive still been Dove for my hands. Look like it’s simple all the way now

Yay I can do Sanex instead. Good
colouringindoors · 02/08/2021 22:06

Sanex deodorant is good too

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/08/2021 22:06

Dove bars aren't proper soap anyway. Buy good old fashioned real soap. Skin is left cleaner and BO reduced.

For sensitive skin, Waitrose does a lovely pure glycerine soap for about £1.00 per bar.

Theunamedcat · 02/08/2021 22:08

I'm trying to be less wasteful so I won't throw away what dove products I have however they will be replaced with something else not dove 🤷‍♀️

Thats Dove gone. I actually liked them too.

Found out last week that Chamord are actually donating money from to Stonewall from every sale - lovely stickers on their bottles. And events through the Summer. Bloody liked that in the summer with some fizz.

Dove cheer on Hubbard.
YouSetTheTone · 02/08/2021 22:17

Today I’ve cancelled my TV licence and I’ll stop using Dove (actually v annoying as I have been using that deodorant for years).

Stopped spending money in Waitrose/ JL as soon as they said people should use whichever changing room they were comfortable in. I think they’ve missed out on at least £1,000 since then by my rough calculation.

I’m sure none of those corporations care but it does make me feel slightly better knowing I’m not giving them any more of my money or my time.

Antinerak · 02/08/2021 22:19

Dove have always been supporters of women and women's charities, how good of them. I'm sure they'll really really miss the customers who flounce away from their products.

Chickenyhead · 02/08/2021 22:19

Do we have a thread on who to swerve anywhere?

MiladyBerserko · 02/08/2021 22:20

Dove is instant thrush anyway

N4ish · 02/08/2021 22:20

Aw no! Won’t miss Dove products at all but so sad to say goodbye to mini magnums :(

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 02/08/2021 22:21

@OnTheBoardwalk - Simple are also owned by Unilever

littlbrowndog · 02/08/2021 22:21

@KittenKong

But in today’s ‘good news’... the ‘vagina’ museum isn’t getting its lease renewed (ahhhhhh) and they can’t find an alternative ‘suitable’ space up in Camden. It’s going to be (yet another) clothes store (for teen tourists to but overpriced knackered old stinky second hand duds).

I guess their target market didn’t step up and fill the gap of the women they hacked off. Sales and marketing 101 - don’t alienate your target and don’t tell honking porkie pies.

Seen that. Might off sniggered at that bunch getting the 👞

Aldi do a reasonable copy.
littlbrowndog · 02/08/2021 22:25

Jeez I love mini magnums. But they can fuck off

But before they can fuck off what did the mini magnums do 🤞🙏
