I don't think ftm transitioners are useful to the GC 'agenda' at all. They do great harm to women, actually, by going along with the idea that there are male and female 'identities' and that certain feelings or behaviours or whatever are naturally 'male'. Several detransitioners I have seen online have acknowledged the internalised misogyny that led them to transition in the first place.

However, it's good that ftm transitioners are shining a spotlight on the issue of AGP and speaking up against the negative aspects of transactivism.

I assumed dolor was agreeing with my post since they posted after it. So they obviously understand that regular posters on this board have always known that transmen are female.

I am sure that dolor would not be surprised to know that probably a few of us have interacted with some of the signatories over the past years. I mean, dolor, it is not as if you haven’t read the threads here discussing Buck and Scott right?

Strangely enough, we have some posters who have repeatedly denied Buck and Scott’s experiences and called them deletable slurs. And I don’t believe those posters are female, although they seem to not identify as men. I do wonder just why they seek to silence a group of females from discussing their transition reality though…

Maybe this time the ban hammer won't fall and we can discuss the differences in GD without fearing the monitors.

I liked the way they recognised that for many females , the right support can help them avoid the need to transition, implicit that avoiding that if possible is a good thing , a recognition of the interplay with society /nurture in the transman experience

Well, some of them do. The ones who are identifying as gay men and getting pissed off that natal gay men aren't interested in them because they're female... not so much.

They laid out a very important distinction-homosexual gender dysphoria and AGP. I wonder Abigail Shrier's views on this. She didn't focus on AGP or males, as far as I know, but she did argue for better therapy for young women with ROGD, which sounds like these transmen want - a way for young homosexuals with GD to have better data and therapy so medical surgery and meds are not the only option. I am glad they spoke out. Not surprisingly, transmen know what it's like to have patriarchal men dominate and talk over you and they are just as sick of it as we are.

I do worry about the effect of testosterone on these young female bodies. Gender differences can't protect you against the loss of oestrogen and the subsequent increased risk of coronary heart disease, osteoporosis and dementia.

I can't understand why my desire for these people to live long, happy, healthy lives with solid evidence supporting their care is evidence of bigotry.

Buck Angel says that their treatment protocol was an experiment. That just isn't good enough, we must at least collect empirical evidence.

That's because a judge has said that your opinion about men with AGP is entirely legal, and should not be subject to censorship.

Censoring you for that opinion would be discriminatory, under the equality act. Something of which our monitors will be only too well aware.

I can't believe women actually had to go to court, to fucking court, to legitimise their opinion about an ideology.

It is odd that they do not acknowledge the existence of straight transmen, ie. females who believe themselves to be gay men, and the role of autoandrophilia. The closest they get is a coy,

That's interesting, transmen's voices are so rarely heard (we all know why) it will be illuminating to see how this is received.

Unfortunately, in the UK, some transmen's voices have been all too audible.

Stephen Whittle was part of Press for Change whose campaigns resulted in the GRA and has continued to campaign for changes in the law which would harm women and girls.

James Morton of the Scottish Trans Alliance was involved in the Scottish Prisons Policy which deals with transgender prisoners. Morton is quoted as saying:

‘We strategized – we strategized – that by working intensively with the Scottish Prison Service to support them to include trans women as women on a self-declaration basis within very challenging circumstances, we would be able to ensure that all other public services should be able to do likewise’.
