Well it's all kicking off at the spa. An amazing woman behind the desk standing up for women and telling a man where to take his penis. I fear she will lose her job over this but it's a glorious way to go.

Well, now we are attempting to undermine the woman who brought this to the world.

Not one person has come forward to deny that there was indeed a male with their genitals fully exposed getting into the tub with a nine year old in very close proximity….

Not one.

Yet, bizzarely we have a poster now accusing that woman of filming in a room where there is no expectation of being able to be naked or in a state of not fully covered, as being more egregious.

Also, it has no bearing on the situation for women and girls whether a naked male exposing their penis in women only space was "quickly getting changed" or not. Women and girls have rights to privacy and dignity.

MadamBatty, I think we need to be careful with statements that attack anyone. I want this to be a mature conversation.

Having said that, I do feel uncomfortable. Quaggars has on a previous thread defended a white police offer who pointed a gun at the camera and grinning madly. This was in a district which was under investigation for police brutality against black people.

Now Quaggars is completely disregarding the testimony of a black woman who is standing up for women and girls. Saying that “this person was just changing” means not taking the black woman seriously.

I do feel very uncomfortable reading this.

That 'report' in the Independent is disgraceful. There is no pretence of reporting the facts objectively: he refers to the woman's complaints about male anatomy in the women's area as "misgendering", and makes it clear that this - not any alleged indecent exposure - was the true crime.

And concerns from women's testimony that someone with a penis sat themselves down naked beside a female child, is reframed as an "offensive stereotype that trans people put children at risk” and - childishly and bizarrely - countered with the sexual abuse of trans women

This 'report' is a truly appalling travesty of 'journalism'. The Independent marks its own homework (no IPSO oversight for them), and it's probably a waste of time complaining to them. I have left a comment in the Comments area FWIW.

It’s still schrodingers penis- we have no idea if it is a male or a female penis, not that it makes a jot of difference anyway. The individual in question is still not somebody you’d want naked around your female child in a women only space just because they prefer it that way.

The report in the uk independent regarding the Spa in LA, seems to be from a journalist based in San Francisco, bizarrely.
