Well it's all kicking off at the spa. An amazing woman behind the desk standing up for women and telling a man where to take his penis. I fear she will lose her job over this but it's a glorious way to go.

One thing is sure, this will have a chilling effect on any woman who wants to protest her rights to single sex spaces in the USA.Who would want to get caught up with a fight against Anitfa? How can women safely protest?

toffeebutterpopcorn · 04/07/2021 10:03

The thing is - once this lot are seen as the bullies, those with ‘bully intent’ will become the anti-Antifa.

It’s just an excuse for young (mostly white) men to have a fight.

@OldTurtleNewShell

I've been thinking about the prevalence of 'that never happens' with the rise in women being labelled terfs. It seems to me that the two things are deeply interwined. I've seen a number of posts on twitter now asking for evidence that the person in the spa was behaving inappropriately and I thought that was fascinating. The whole thing was literally set off by a viral video of a woman complaining about it but they can't find any 'evidence'? Every time something happens, no matter how obvious or blatant, the whistleblower is labelled a terf for raising it. The evidence is therefore discredited and doesn't exist. This is the same on everything from the prisons review to the horrors at the Tavistock and now this latest at Wi Spa. This way, not only does it not happen, but it can never happen even when it does.
Obviously we don’t have visual evidence (maybe the spa does?) and I’ve seen a lot of comments from people who don’t claim to have been there saying it didn’t happen, it’s lies etc BUT there were a lot of other people in that woman’s viral video, who were there and I don’t see any of them disputing what she said.

Would it be wrong for me to say I quite like the term "stanilanditus?"
The symptom being an absolute aversion to penises, especially exposed penises, in spaces where women and/or girls undress? We could be the stanilandati. I imagine some women of the cisati would catch stanilanditus after experiencing the situation we abhor...

Christ, who wants to see arbitrary penises in a woman's space? Any base, actually. Where it hasn't been specifically invited. Jeez. Men seriously think the world revolves around their appendages, don't they?
EmbarrassingAdmissions · 04/07/2021 11:25

For anyone who hasn't seen it, I've archived the Times thread about growing up with Children of God

Bexy Cameron was born into a sect that was notorious for exploitation and sexual abuse. Now she’s written a memoir about what it was like to grow up in a movement founded by a predator.

“What I find so hard to believe is how he tricked that many people into thinking it was OK to raise their kids in this environment: being shown sexual imagery and child pornography I wish I’d never seen.”

If you go to the thread from there, you'll see a lot more plus the information about Rose McGowan, Rivers Phoenix and their experiences.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 04/07/2021 11:27

I’m guessing California?

toffeebutterpopcorn · 04/07/2021 11:33

Ah yes - California. What is it about that part of the world? The whole ‘hippy’ thing - not all ‘peace and love’ but pretty unpleasant stuff there too.

Abhannmor · 04/07/2021 11:38

@ScreamingMeMe

TRAs really are doubling down on this, huh? Not wanting to see a strange person's penis and testicles is a "moral panic".
Paisley is that guy who went into hiding because he saw a Suffragette ribbon 🎀. And he can't understand people not wanting to see his penis ? F*cksake

"If you don't want to see a penis in the changing room just don't look"

Posts like this give me the rage. The lack of empathy and sense of entitlement takes me breath away.

I don't think those parents were tricked into believing anything, they just didn't hold any strong moral beliefs in the first place, and were looking for a leader to tell them what to do.
People who care strongly about belonging to the group are the ones that can be persuaded to gradually shed their moral standards, and then they hide behind the group to excuse their individual actions.

‘Keep your head down. Look at the floor.’

It’s an old message.

herewegogc · 04/07/2021 12:07

'Trans activists are now defending the right of men to show their genitals to young girls.'

And there it is. In plain sight.

herewegogc · 04/07/2021 12:11

@Novelusername

Being homeless or having a violent family where you have to run out the house and walk the street or spend time in the library like I used to makes you vulnerable prey to men in the public sphere who sniff out that vulnerability. Abusers seek out the weak, the poorer you are, the more abused you have been already, the more emotionally wounded, the more likely you are to be targeted. That's the main issue, I think, about being female and poor, having to be in spaces where you are vulnerable and out in public with men you'd rather avoid - if you have even a small amount of money you can buy yourself a bit more privacy and protection away from public spaces.
Yes I agree - this was my experience. Have bought my way out of it - nice area to live, thousands on therapy. A combination of hard work and loads of luck.
herewegogc · 04/07/2021 12:11

@EsmaCannonball

What makes the Laurie Pennys of this world so exhausting is they are super-conventional but constantly demand you don't see through the facade. I don't know many people as thoroughly normal as her. I'd have more respect if she just said she wanted to be pretty, marry a man, and live a nice middle-class life. She's practically Margo Leadbetter, only Margo was a legend who'd never let a man get his dick out in the dressing rooms of the Surbiton Operatic Society.
Yes
TheWeeDonkey · 04/07/2021 12:18

Those comments are just ridiculous, I mean side from the fact that they're just demonstrating extreme male entitlement, they're forgetting that the main reason for a male person to go into a female changing area or spa naked is so that the women and girls will look at him. Thats the whole point. These idiots telling women to look the other way are ruining his kink.

Quaggars · 04/07/2021 12:23

I personally feel more uncomfortable that there's someone filming in the gym when there's people around in states of undress /in bathrobes than a trans woman being in there.
Nobody else have a problem with that as haven't seen it mentioned already on the thread?
THAT seems invasion of privacy to me but nobody seems to care there's someone filming there?

Eh? They were filming in the reception area.
littlbrowndog · 04/07/2021 12:32

Wasn’t a gym

It’s a spa

The filming was in reception where women were trying to get their money back and a woman was complaining that there was a naked man in the female space where women go with their mothers grandmas toddlers teens. All women

There is a male space and a unisex space at the spa

That's because no-one else is trying to deflect from the fact an adult male exposed their penis to women and young girls in a female only space.

Yep. It’s manipulation by minimising and maximising. Normalising penises in plain sight of 9 year old girls BUT it’s a hate crime to address someone the wrong pronoun.

It wasn’t a gym, it was a spa. Naked saunas, jacuzzis, that sort of thing.

And the filming took place in reception, not in the spa areas or changing rooms.

Hopefully you can feel more comfortable now? Nothing to see here, as they say in the women’s sauna?

Jarnsaxa · 04/07/2021 12:46

I did see one of the ANTIFA posts on twitter that made me giggle.

They were talking about supporting Trans Women Of Colour,nothing wrongwith that of course.

Except rhey'd used the acronym 'TWOC'

That doesn'tmean what they think it means in the UK... . .

Not so funny was another ANTIFA poster trying to characterise the original woman who complained as an 'aggressive, right wing religious fundamentalist'.
Apparently because s she'd put bible quotes on her twitter in the past.

No mention of the lady being African American for some reason.

This from the same group people who were presumably protesting for BLM just a few weeks ago.

Now fighting for the rights of white men to show their dicks to Little black girls.

Deliriumoftheendless · 04/07/2021 12:50

As an acronym though, fitting.
