Who do you Truss more?

A deliberate Freudian slip in the title - a Twitter poll for those on the hell site.

Who do you trust more - Stonewall or Liz Truss.

A weird premise, comparing a government minister and a charity who consider themselves to be ruling the U.K. government but there you go...

I would love to vote in this but I'm blocked!

highame · 01/06/2021 17:28

Don't worry snoozer we've obviously got you covered Grin

The other pole by a poster, who do you trust more Labour or Liz Truss is around 89.5% in favour of Truss. They really do set themselves up. The hubris is stunning

ErrolTheDragon · 01/06/2021 17:28

@Igneococcus

I had someone in a Times' comment thread tell me once, it's a few years ago, that heterosexual sex has pretty much never been observed in nature and he was actually dead serious about that.
How the hell has anyone in the U.K. missed all of David Attenborough's series and Springwatch? Confused
ErrolTheDragon · 01/06/2021 17:31

Is it possible to see the results without being logged into Twitter? (Its not quite enough to tempt me to make an account).
There's another poll Liz Truss or Labour, how is that one going?

ErrolTheDragon · 01/06/2021 17:33

There's a screenshot from an hour ago

Doyoumind · 01/06/2021 17:41

What a pathetic tweet from an MP (even if it is DB) but a hilarious response Grin

Ah, that'll be why all animal species except humans have died out....

MajesticWhine · 01/06/2021 17:48

So funny. I managed to vote, obviously haven't been blocked yet.

Igneococcus · 01/06/2021 17:56

That was pretty much my response too thinkingaboutlangcleg that and "have you ever watched natural history program?"

JellySlice · 01/06/2021 18:00

How does it stand now?

(Alternatively, is there a way of viewing the pol without having a Twitter account?)

Here you go:

WinterTrees · 01/06/2021 18:03

I love the comments under the 'JFC who voted for Liz Truss' tweet.

Mostly pithy answers like 'sane people', 'people with vaginas' etc '38% more people than voted for Stonewall' etc but there's one deluded soul determined to stick to the line that it's 'transphobes with a lot of sock puppet accounts to make it look like there are more of them than there really are.'

Yeah, right. You can tell that because in elections no one actually votes Tory do they? Oh wait...

DeRigueurMortis · 01/06/2021 18:17

Thinking about this a bit more, I feel this poll is actually an insight into where the LP has got it wrong on this issue.

They've always tried to frame it as a nasty right wing vs nice left wing issue - hence it's Truss vs Stonewall. A total lack of nuance that many people might not agree with the Tory party on a number of policies they do "trust Truss" on this.

They've never full understood that what's been at stake re: woman's rights has cut clean through "traditional" political alignments and allegiances.

And on the basis of this poll they still don't understand (or at least DB doesn't) and until they do they are continuing to alienate a lot of left leaning voters.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 01/06/2021 18:25

72% for Liz now Grin

toffeebutterpopcorn · 01/06/2021 18:28

Someone recently did a poll on twitter but apparently the ‘right’ people didn’t vote (translate: I sometimes get the results I wanted).

Butler is now being criticised by rainbow flag tweeps, along the lines of how stupid she was to put a twitter poll out

@ZuttZeVootEeeVro

If there are people within the labour party trying to turn things around, I feel for them. It's going to be an uphill struggle.

They'll make one step forwards, bulter will tweet and it'll be two steps back.

Yep. They will, of course, ignore what people on the opposing side have to say, and remain clueless, thinking that they know better. Just like with the recent election results. It's almost farce-like at this point.

Oh God. People should spend some time on my farm and observe my rams at tupping time. Dawn and her bloody gay giraffes. My rams will mount each other in the absence of females. Cows will jump on top of each other when they're in season. They're not gay

"Liz Truss kicked Pride Month off to a great start yesterday, urgingWhitehall officials to withdraw from theStonewalldiversity scheme following a row over trans rights. Naturally the left is outraged, despite the Equalities and Human Rights Commission having also recently withdrawn from the scheme.Former Shadow Equalities Secretary Dawn Butler tried rallying her troops on Twitter, asking followers who they trust more:Stonewallor Liz Truss......"

Ah, very funny to watch.

PronounssheRa · 01/06/2021 19:15

Screenshots. There are more, just search twitter.

Some MPs can be so phenomenally dense at times. 😂

Absolutely agree.

It's so silly.

'Who do you like better, me or her?'

I mean, I suppose FPTP elections sort of encourage this lazy, childish type of tribalism, but in general discourse, it really doesn't work, does it?

SpindleWhorl · 01/06/2021 19:25

She'll pop up soon blaming an over-enthusiastic under-trained intern for sticking the twitter poll online.

OhHolyJesus · 01/06/2021 19:27

Who do you like better, me or her?

Sorry but all I can think about is that McCain oven chips advert from the 1980s

"Sophie, who do you like better? Daddy or chips?"

Childish? Yes. Funny? Absolutely.
