Daily acts of feminism - a thread for ideas

Pinched the idea shamelessly from another thread after an hour of speechless rage reading the papers and Twatter. I need to DO something.

I pledge to do something positive every day to stand up for women. Deeds not words.

Today was taken care of for me - a subscription to The Radical Notion for Mother's Day. I'm also going to fill out the VAWG consultation.

Thought might be good to share anything else we come across here, so anyone in need of ideas could check?

Great idea, Tea. I’ve had an email from Raquel Rosario Sanchez, about her Crowdjustice funder for action against Bristol University which allowed transactivists to bully her. You’ve reminded me to send another donation.

Aiming for an action every day should inspire some creative thinking!

Ooo yes good one, I got that email too. Right, there's tomorrow's action sorted as well.

Great idea. I have been feeling pretty powerless to and want to take back some control. I’ve just subscribed as well!

Thank you for starting this thread it's a great idea. I still feel like I'm early on in forming my feminist position so part of my daily routine involves reflection and absorbing information. I'm still wading through links from threads here and I've recently started listening to some recommended podcasts.

In terms of actions, speaking up is something that I'm getting (gradually) braver about doing. Having had several really productive conversations with others recently has boosted my confidence somewhat. Nothing I believe in or hold to be true is extreme at all, so saying these things out loud and not being called names or threatened (as would happen on, say, Twitter) is a real relief.

Refuse to be the default "adult" in relationships (if you are in a relationship with a man). Make everyone in your household aware of invisible labour and the mental load and share it equally.

Order a paper copy of the Census.

Why? Not being goady. New to this!

Join together in groups to tackle abusers and harassers, while following safe and legal processes. Send out the message it's not OK to abuse women. Donate money to women's charities. Start or join threads on social media calling out the catcallers and street harassers etc...

This is one of the most simple and powerful ideas. Split all work to do with the smooth running of a household absolutely fairly between you. Never pick up the slack for him again.

Links to fundraisers are not allowed. You can refer obliquely, but not directly.
Think about how you talk about other women. Be positive and raise each other up.

Yes, this is a good one. Be prepared for the societal push back though. It has taken years of training for my husband's family to understand that, yes, they can ask him for ideas for presents for the kids, or to arrange to see them, for example.

Love this thread and it’s come at the right time for me. I’m tired of doing nothing!
Just put a subscription to The Radical Notion on my (March) birthday list, subscribed to GlossWitch’s newsletter and about to order my paper census.

Will be following for more ideas.

Call out the terms cis whenever I hear/see it. Wrote to BBC yesterday because on there 'The Papers' they had a young politico who called us cis women. I pointed out that it was offensive to some women. Tomorrow I am going to follow a few more proper feminists

Shizuku, where can I buy that badge? Can they be personalised - if, for example, I wanted the topline to read Transmen? TIA
