YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/02/2021 11:19

Yes - and I will send them an email.

ArabellaScott · 18/02/2021 11:20

I archived up to about 950 posts, I think, so maybe didn't get some of hte last few that were deleted. I hope I did it right! Is this working?

Clymene · 18/02/2021 11:21

@YetAnotherSpartacus

So many deletions :(
131 - I counted! Quite the tally.

Even posts by women who very, very rarely get deleted like Datun as she is so good at making her point while sticking assiduously to the rules.

ArabellaScott · 18/02/2021 11:23

If I've archived it correctly (fingers crossed) then the whole thread could probably be sent to the 50/50 committee. I don't expect they'd read it, but there is plenty of evidence there of women respectfully stating their cases and explaining why the current situation is unfair and untenable.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 18/02/2021 11:28

Wow. So many deletions.
I read that thread as it was going on and caught up on the end of it this morning. I don't recall anything that broke explicit guidelines. It was mostly women stating that we deserve political representation and saying 'no'.
I'd genuinely like to know what rules were broken there because that's not on.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 18/02/2021 11:29

Oh thanks ArabellaScott. I'm going to have a look and see what was deleted.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/02/2021 11:32

I think quite a few of yours were deleted Turtles so I am glad to see you here.

BaronessWrongCrowd · 18/02/2021 11:36

I got a deletion. Not sure what for.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 18/02/2021 11:39

Maybe we're not supposed to say NO?
I didn't contribute but I read, was a very interesting thread and I suppose good that it was / is allowed to stand at all.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/02/2021 11:43

We should never underestimate how psychologically weakening and damaging it is to be forced to treat as true something that is not true, with the effect strengthening the more obviously false it is'

I did make a very similar point in post 999. It's a power trip.

ArabellaScott · 18/02/2021 11:44

Yes, I'd like to know, too. Perhaps it depends on who is doing the reporting?

Floisme · 18/02/2021 11:44

I imagine it's still attracting reports and that MNHQ will be under huge pressure right now to take the whole thread down, even though it's full.
It's interesting that they seem to have deleted posts without issuing strikes but I'm still concerned about casualties.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/02/2021 11:45

Not 999, that was a different point. 990.

Floisme · 18/02/2021 11:46

I also think that, for the most part, whether or not you were reported is as much about who you are as about anything you wrote.

Whatwouldscullydo · 18/02/2021 11:46

Wow I'm.wading through the thread. If some of those posters got deleted then something is really up.Shock

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 18/02/2021 11:47

My god. I've got a copy of one of my deleted posts and I genuinely am not sure how it broke Talk Guidelines.
It was either due to referring to non-specified politicians as being born male or objecting to the term 'bimbo pills'.
I know MN has to walk a careful line but that is really bad.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/02/2021 11:48

Bimbo pills is just so heartbreakingly offensive.

lifeturnsonadime · 18/02/2021 11:50

I'm on 2 strikes. Are people getting removed from here for 3. Given that I don't know in what way I have breached guidelines. I have emailed to ask. I'd better shut up for a bit.

SkeeterP · 18/02/2021 11:51

Just caught up with that thread now. Well done everybody and great mic drop, Winesalot. What people like Robin don’t seem to understand is their insistence on colonising what it means to be female has reignited the feminist movement. Maybe that’s why we are all so obsessed ..

Whilst the battle is terrifying at times it has enabled me to connect with witty, intelligent and brilliant women which has only served to make my life richer. Solidarity, sisters.

picklemewalnuts · 18/02/2021 11:53

There were some wonderful posts. I wonder if someone who archives could make a new account, with a new name and email address, and post all the deleted comments in a new thread. 🧐 that would be interesting to read.

Obviously the strike rate would be horrendous, so it would need careful consideration. I'd just really like to see the deleted posts. Perhaps out of the context of that thread they would be ok? I mean, they were all ok unless you were a man with a really fragile ego who can't bear dissent or truth.

andyoldlabour · 18/02/2021 11:58

I didn't post on that thread but read practically every page. There were superb comments from Barracker, Winesalot, Datun and many others, nothing offensive as far as I could see, just truthful replies, pointing out facts, certainly nothing libelous.

TinselAngel · 18/02/2021 12:00

I think I had 3 or 4 deletions. One was for saying a certain person hadn't RTFT.

Floisme · 18/02/2021 12:03

Do you know how many strikes you had Tinsel?

TinselAngel · 18/02/2021 12:04

@Floisme

Do you know how many strikes you had Tinsel?
I'm assuming none as I've not had any emails.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/02/2021 12:05

I think they reserve the right to remove anything contentious whether or not it actually breaks talk guidelines in any objective sense.
