[quote Soontobe60]Also, Bristow’s just posted a crowd finder for facial feminisation surgery.

So they are a non-binary woman as opposed to transwoman? Is this new? Sounds like they're trying to pass themselves off as it a GNC female. WTF.

DisgustedofManchester · 08/02/2021 16:43

I believe A dozen, just 12 left, and 50,000 stayed. Meanwhile support for the greens has risen 2 % points....

Who are the bad guys again?

OvaHere · 08/02/2021 16:43

It might only be 40 or so this time but the Greens like other parties have been haemorrhaging female members for while - basically every time they throw some shit at women. Which seems to be quite frequently.

Then of course there was the whole disturbing Challenor debacle. If you add to that all the people who might have joined but these days definitely wouldn't it's not a great picture for the Greens and their one MP.

You are.
WeAreGerbil · 08/02/2021 17:13

Who are the bad guys again?

The ejaculators who want to impose themselves (or other ejaculators) on vulnerable women and children who don't want them there.

OhHolyJesus · 08/02/2021 17:17

I think it's about 40 who wrote to say why they were leaving rather than the actual total from the last few years.

Memberships wax and wane anyway so it's really notable because letters were written with the reasons why. It could be hundreds really, no one knows, and more could have joined because of the 'non man' 'inclusive' language, it's only £3 a month after all.

If all parties on the left kept a log of leaving members and reasons why you'd have actual data. Maybe the data on the Tory membership increase should be released to see what their sign up is. It wouldn't necessary transfer obviously but I bet a good few women signed up with them just because they know what a woman is.

OhHolyJesus · 08/02/2021 17:18

Oh and hi Richard.

prisencolinensinainciusol2 · 08/02/2021 17:39

Richard Madeley's on here?

Fuck me!

prisencolinensinainciusol2 · 08/02/2021 17:40

Gere?

ArabellaScott · 08/02/2021 17:41

The third?

Wotapolava · 08/02/2021 17:43

Also, I thought they be believed penises can be female, so does FGM include circumcision

Another disparity highlighted.
Some things are just not up for discussion from certain angles.

Men have long been called out for their inappropriate behaviour towards women.
Wolf - whistling. Nice Tits etc...

I have been approached by both men and women in terms of what some would call inappropriate.

I am a female - which of the above am I encouraged to complain about?

Now answer this, women who are exposed to wolf-whistles, bum pinches etc are always likely to complain or report -

or are they less likely to complain if he is nice looking as opposed to an unattractive male who she perceives to be a minger?

The main focus of arguments is always about physical abuse.
What about the psychological abuse going on which is swept under the rug and in my view likely responsible for many suicides?

Carbon Monoxide isn't the only silent killer!

gardenbird48 · 08/02/2021 17:52

Does the DM article mention whether anyone else put themselves forward for this position?

Merrymouse if you mean the position that Kathryn holds, as far as I know it is a co-chair with an actual woman, Emma Bateman, who Kathryn's supporters are determined to get rid of and as soon as the election was called were putting out horrid messages about her. I don't envy her uphill battle one bit.

newyearnewname123 · 08/02/2021 19:13

This is the main comment from Bristow on Twitter, plus a gif saying "there are dozens of us".

How come a national paper is interested in what dozens are doing in a party of 50k+ members?

How is a woman elected as co-chair of a women's group by women mean that we are losing representation?

I've always been a woman and no, I don't think we solve sexism that way.

Toseland · 08/02/2021 20:09

Please let us send ‘Rita Skeeter’ to interview Ms Bristow and ask how these past few weeks have been. I want to know all about the wonderful things she has been doing for Green Women :)

RobinMoiraWhite · 08/02/2021 20:45

@ZuttZeVootEeeVro

Having a non female heading up a women's group in a political party is a story, though. So no, I won't 'move along'.
Depends on your definition of female, of course.

Quite an advance for diversity and equality of opportunity, one could think. So, I agree. That IS a substantial story, whatever one's view.

OvaHere · 08/02/2021 20:48

What is your definition of female Robin?

Wotapolava · 08/02/2021 20:54

Depends on your definition of female, of course

Right answer.

Ladies, Women, females.

Ladies were all about class.

Seeing now as females are referred to as 'Women' by feminists and others, I would like somebody to answer.

If 'Ladies' are of a higher class - where is their say? And who decided that is what they are?

Terriblewithmoney · 08/02/2021 20:59

Have you just flown in from 1952?! Women are ok with being sexually harassed and assaulted by good looking men? WTAF?? Hmm

Have a pack of these Biscuit

Ah. I think that answers my question. 1952 it is. Welcome time traveller. I'm not sure the machine has put you back together quite right though. Maybe give it a while before trying the internet.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/02/2021 21:07

Depends on your definition of female, of course.

Well yes, we could all decide "female" means whatever we want it to mean. Egg timer, Christmas tree, the concept of time.

But it already has a meaning, and everyone knows full well what it is, whatever language games they want to play.

Lipsalot · 08/02/2021 21:31

What a misinformed thing to write.

merrymouse · 08/02/2021 21:33

Yes - gender stereotype or medical reality. So difficult to decide which is more useful.

Wotapolava · 08/02/2021 21:38

Whoops...

Who said Time travel?

Are you saying the term ' Lady' does not exist today?

Women - collective plural for woman.

Ladies - collective and plural term for Lady.

So, who chose to join a group in society which actually assumes you as a lesser class?
You or your leader?

Men aren't keeping you down here are they? You are doing it yourselves.

...

Terriblewithmoney · 08/02/2021 23:05

Seriously, when you read it back, does it make sense in your head?

newyearnewname123 · 08/02/2021 23:07

Quite an advance for diversity and equality of opportunity, one could think.

Only if one thought that men being underrepresented in women's political groups is a problem.
