Just watched it, it featured Benjamin Butterworth, George Galloway and Rose of Dawn. BB got his arse handed to him by Piers and Rose was brilliant! Well worth a watch! It was on at 8.15 so you can watch it in an hours time if you're at home. Also Twitter reactions were v positive, with pp wanting to buy the book as a result!

Ah yes, the old 'you can have your personal boundaries' schtick when challenged on his own sexuality, coupled with a bit of 'this never happens' when lesbians and other gay men are brought up.

When he gasps dramatically at 6.25 I half expected him to follow it up with “oh my! I think I have the vapours!”. I mean could he be anymore faux outraged?!

Yeah, like he's never heard the outrageous statement that 'No one is born in the wrong body' before. Can you imagine the reaction if someone says 'Unicorns are not real animals' to him? Or 'There isn't really a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow'?

Ahh this has made my night. It doesn't quite beat Harrop for me though, I have a feeling that will always be my fave interview, but it certainly is amazing Also watched the India one, with Piers twospirit penguin arguments, which actually made a lot of sense..oddly. Have made the same argument myself a few times, that they will scream 'respect everyone elses gender identity, accept what they say, no exceptions' til they are blue in the face, but then at the same time, tell you you absolutely ARE CIS, are not non binary, are not this, are that...and they don't appear to understand the problem there.

If Benjamin was a real trans ally he would have given his platform to an actual transgendered person, not spoken for them. He comes across as transphobic in that interview too. He denied trans men were men, and he was quick to make sure everyone knew he wasn’t trans himself.

I suggest he stay in his lane, sit down, educate himself, and listen.

I really hope he doesn’t get cancelled for this...

I like the Talk Radio discussion format better: eveyone gets a chance to speak without being cut off or talked over. I know that's Piers' shtick though so GMB is unlikely to change.

It shows it is all a fun game to him.

He did support the idea that homosexual people ought to be allowed to choose who they’re with, gender identity aside.

Of course he states that from his point of view as a gay man who is attracted to the male physique. He says nothing of the rights of lesbians to reject transwomen who have male bodies (penises).

Unfortunately Bev didn’t make a clear case describing that when lesbians do it they are vilified and harangued into accepting “lady cock” and deemed transphobic and bigoted blah blah blah.

There was a lot more that could have been said because the public really doesn’t understand that this is happening.

However, I do like the way she kept it about sex and medicine, as much as possible, and didn’t get distracted by feelings.

Also, I’m sure this has been mentioned here as being problematic but I haven’t seen it, in one of the Twitter comments a poster mentioned how the whole ‘born in the wrong body’ is ableist, which is something I hadn’t thought through.

Nah, he'll get a pass just as Harrop and OJ did. Boundary removal is for women. Men are allowed to say no.

I have got a female relative (I'm going to call her cis and hetero just to speak in the language she uses) who is 30 years old who deleted me off FB for sharing the meme comparing what JKR actually said about people who menstruate to the Twitter comments (choke on my lady dick etc) she received in reply.
