Didn’t see this on the current post about her fundraising but thought it deserved a post of its own.

Thank you. I have also donated again.

I'm glad this is being looked at by the courts. Let's hope for a common sense view/outcome and some sunlight.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 06/03/2021 15:12

I just saw this on twitter. It's quite something.
I'm Shock at the gumption of it, especially complaining about Allison tweeting about their 'appalling levels of intimidation' in an email that was clearly intended to try get her fired.

ArcheryAnnie · 06/03/2021 15:27

OMG I've just read it, and I know I'm missing the point, but the writing style is that of a dodgy photocopier salesman, the sort who says your name multiple times when talking to you.

Stonewall have more money than god, and more than 150 employees. Surely they could find someone in that lot who could spell, who could use grammar correctly, and who wouldn't write "yourselves" when they mean "you"?

But brava, Allison, for not bowing the head to that bunch of utter shits.

Tibtom · 06/03/2021 15:28

Or blaming her calling them extremists for violence - look what you made us do!

FindTheTruth · 06/03/2021 16:02

of all the things I've read and seen in the war on lesbians, the Benji interview with Boyce where she describes 40 year old male born people talking to teenage females in the group run by Morgan Page, is one I will never forget . If I write here my interpretation of what happened to Benji and those young people, I suspect my post will be deleted - but it's the darkest underbelly of lesbophobia in the ideology cult. Worth watching but needs a strong stomach.

And now reading this The Stonewall letter and line about Page the horror of it becomes clearer every day. someone yesterday posted a link to 'the purity spiral'* of a group '"fixated on implementing a single value that has no upper limit, and no single agreed interpretation. The result is a moral feeding frenzy." like the Salem Witch trials, Mao, Russia and other nightmares in history. loyalty tests, only affirmations allowed,

LGB alliance and WPUK:
(this could apply to them)

“People who are trying to prevent members of society from speaking the truth will often punish minor criticisms,” he told me. “Simply to send the message to the rest of society that no dissent will be tolerated and no attempt to form an opposing group — even one that differs only slightly from the status quo — will be tolerated. If you allow minor differences, you allow people to coordinate around minor differences, and that can encourage even greater opposition.” Prof. Kuran, Duke Uni

jhuizinga · 06/03/2021 16:09

Stonewall's complaint certainly shines a very bright and unflattering light on its tactics and the misinformation it peddles. I cannot imagine SW wanting this case to come to court. The impact could be catastrophic for its reputation and gravy-train funding. (I can live in hope at least.) Time to do a bit more digging.

IrenetheQuaint · 06/03/2021 17:04

I'm astonished Stonewall actually emailed Garden Court in this way, as opposed to ringing the head of chambers for a confidential chat. Great for transparency that they did, of course, but it suggests (along with the general illiteracy of the letter) that they have become complacent and think they're untouchable.

preachingtothechoir · 06/03/2021 17:09

@StandUpStraight

What on earth were Garden Court chambers thinking? The letter is nothing more than a series of baseless allegations, rounded off by a threat, all of it written in the most illiterate prose. It’s absolutely outrageous that Allison has been treated in this way, and it is time to dig again, but thank God this is coming to light so that everyone can see Stonewall for what it has become.
Stonewall were preaching to the choir.

Garden Court is full of wokerati who didn't need any encouragement from Stonewall. There was pressure from other barristers in the Chambers to have AB disciplined before Stonewall got in on the act.

Sexnotgender · 06/03/2021 17:13

@IrenetheQuaint

That Stonewall letter reinforces my prejudice against people who use "yourselves" when they mean "you" Grin
Makes my teeth itch 😱

Honestly how arrogant are they?!

PurpleHoodie · 06/03/2021 17:16

I don't know how Allison keeps going. I feel such rage reading all this. This case really gets to me because it's just bullying. They can call it what they like but it's just old fashioned bullying.

(They are - insert THE rudest word in the English language here. Add in in all UK dialect equivalents for the rudest word we can describe Stonewall as)

She's a black, gay woman speaking logic and facts.

Stonewall for example.....

PurpleHoodie · 06/03/2021 17:19

Stonewall, and their bastard corporate offspring, can fuck off thinking they represent us.

Future sociologists and historians: take note.

PurpleHoodie · 06/03/2021 17:20

Also - the House of Lords (waves)

Yes, i know they were preaching to the choir as pp says, but they also knew that Allison wasn't in the choir, she would know her rights, and she's a barrister. It doesn't sound like the person who wrote it is that clever. They understand things in a very facile social media style way (judging by how they presented & interpreted the tweets), but still, to put it in an email - your continued association with her puts us in a difficult position with yourselves - or whatever the wording was. It's very surprising.

Datun · 06/03/2021 17:27

But didn't it say there are over a hundred employees there? They cant all be in thrall.

I think this is the Benjamin Boyce podcast where that is discussed. If anyone hasn't heard it, it's definitely worth a listen.

Future sociologists and historians: take note.

I'm studying sociology. I'm deeply dissapointed in my lecturer. I wouldn't hold your breath.

PurpleHoodie · 06/03/2021 17:36

Be the change Diary

Your submissions will be on record.

zanahoria · 06/03/2021 17:39

I am astonished that Stonewall thought they sould get away with this, then it occured ro me that maybe they are used to getting away with this sort of thing. I wonder how many of these threats they send out?

PurpleHoodie · 06/03/2021 17:41

Interesting question.

We should find out.

gardenbird48 · 06/03/2021 18:33

@PurpleHoodie

Interesting question.

We should find out.

that would make a good FOI request Wink Hmm
PurpleHoodie · 06/03/2021 18:35

Love a bit of FOI

Datun · 06/03/2021 18:36

Why aren't stonewall gasping in horror at the rampant homophobia detailed on this thread? Why aren't they stopping it?

It's unbelievably vile. I genuinely don't know how Twitter allows it. They will have to account for this, at some point.

PurpleHoodie · 06/03/2021 18:39

They will.

titchy · 06/03/2021 18:41

@PurpleHoodie

Love a bit of FOI
Unfortunately FOI only applies to public sector organisations.
PurpleHoodie · 06/03/2021 18:42

Ah well.

Thank goodness LGB organisations are rising up to replace the anti-homosexual Stonewall.
