Devereux1 ratioed is when a tweet gets many more comments than likes. Likes indicate simple approval now, whereas comments can be critical.

So JK has not been 'ratioed' because she has many more likes than comments (and many of those comments are not whiny pokemon but positive votes of thanks)

Basically, "getting ratioed" means that the responses to your tweet far outweigh the likes/retweets, generally indicating disagreement.

I saw when this happened to JK before - when she liked a tweet (and her publicist blamed fat fingers) and when she followed Julie Bindel and Magdalen Berns.

But this is something else! Such vicious tweets at her, intermingled with patronising appeals and emotional blackmail... a strange mix. And surprise surprise! Jolyon's had to throw his emotional appeal into the ring too. Hmm Because of course, Jolyon couldn't miss an opportunity to "politely educate" a woman Hmm

I feel for the woman involved, who is being told by a judge that sex is not immutable, and should continue to be confused with gender. Whilst the comments from JK are heartening- the fact this woman lost, is not.

He just can't get it into his head that a woman might actually be sufficiently informed about this subject and she can see problems relating to gender ideology which he is unable to grasp.
We can't all base our beliefs and opinions on the fact that QC Maugham happens to be close to someone who is trans.

SD I actually disagree.

The fact that Maya lost the case has conversely attracted more attention (sunlight) than had she won, simply because most rational people (even those hereto unaware of the trans debate) are aghast that someone could be fired for stating biological truth.

It's also fired up (as evidenced by this thread) many people who have previously been wary of speaking out.

I'm hopeful that Maya will appeal and be successful in doing so. I'm not a lawyer but having read the judgement I think there's a lot within it that needs to be unpicked in terms of its ramifications.

I’m not here to cancel JK Rowling as a person and stoke mob outrage. I’m just here to educate and inform. Trans rights are human rights and trans women are women. Also, white feminism can sometimes intersect with trans exclusion or white supremacy, which is unjust.
