Ru Paul's Drag Race FOI request?

WineIsMyCarb · 15/11/2019 20:54

Given that the BBC does not allow 3rd party advertisers, is an FOI request the right way to go about finding out if the headline slot on BBC iPlayer for RuPaul's Drag Race is paid for? Have had wine, am cross. Sick of the fucking sight of him. (Follows previous thread about iplayer not having an algorithm and others' about drag being misogynistic in large parts).

God, the feminism boards are boring. Seriously, how do you hide a whole board? Can you? The nitpicking and hectoring is so tedious.

If you find it boring, or are simply not up to it - then go elsewhere.
Posts such as yours offer nothing of substance... just as you say...nit-picking drivel

Trewser · 19/11/2019 19:01

My post was asking how you hide a board. It's just the same old posters being fucking horrible to anyone who doesn't toe the party line, and I'd rather not see any of it any more.

thefluffysideofgrey · 19/11/2019 19:11

Agreed @Trewser. It's bloody turgid.

Leave them in their echo chamber while the rest of the world carries on.

Visiting the feminist boards feels a lot like reading Gormenghast these days.

UpfieldHatesWomen · 19/11/2019 19:17

Trewser It makes you look very petty to pop up just to troll like this, just like you did on another thread. That time it was your posts being deleted for personal attacks. No way to win an argument, IMO. Just as the other poster, they're throwing about accusations but not making any points. That really is tedious.

As for the topic, if someone else wants to watch drag and enjoys it, that's their prerogative, I wouldn't argue otherwise. Some of us have issues with it and are discussing it. No-one is forcing you to come onto the thread and get involved.

thefluffysideofgrey · 19/11/2019 19:21

See?

There we go:

  1. Insult✔️
  2. Go away ✔️

This is what happens is anybody disagrees with the constantly offended, self-centred, victim mentality.

Every friggin time!

UpfieldHatesWomen · 19/11/2019 19:21

I also notice it's when someone can't explain what they've said that they start getting stroppy and throwing insults around, shortly before running off. I'd still like to know what is meant by 'the trans thing' and what connection is being made to drag. I guess we'll never know!

Trewser · 19/11/2019 19:21

That time it was your posts being deleted for personal attacks

You see, this is exactly what I mean. One of my posts WAS deleted its true, but I posted a lot, had a lot to say, was CLEARLY not a 'troll', so don't be so fucking offensive. I just happened not to agree with you. I don't think you understand what 'troll' means, it doesn't mean to post something in disagreement with the feminist hive mind.

Seriously, I've looked through the app and can't find a way to hide an entire board, so if anyone knows feel free to PM me.

UpfieldHatesWomen · 19/11/2019 19:24

Oh no, I called someone petty! Shock
Feel free to report any of my posts that you find abusive. The moderators delete abusive comments. That's why so many of your comments have been deleted on this thread.

bellinisurge · 19/11/2019 19:28

If it's to do with programming the BBC is not caught by FOI.

thefluffysideofgrey · 19/11/2019 19:31

You called them a troll.

Which is very silly.

As I say, you're descending into parody.

UpfieldHatesWomen · 19/11/2019 19:34

Actually, Trewser, the thread is here and four of your comments were deleted.

Nit-picking, maybe, some would call it being truthful.
I've already said I don't really care if someone else wants to watch drag and feel like I've been nuanced, so there's no need for the bitchy 'hive mind' comments either. Why pop up to make bitchy comments about me when you have nothing to add to the discussion? Seems bitter.

Trewser · 19/11/2019 19:36

So what? Literally who cares?

UpfieldHatesWomen · 19/11/2019 19:38

thefluffysideofgrey
You're full of attacks and playing the victim since you've been asked what you mean by 'it's a trans thing'. I still don't know what you mean by this and would like to know - or was I supposed to be distracted by the histrionics?

thefluffysideofgrey · 19/11/2019 19:41

What attacks? Go on, quote them.

💃🏽

UpfieldHatesWomen · 19/11/2019 19:45

I'm not really interested in slinging mud at you. I would like to know what you mean by 'the trans thing', but it looks like you're intent on not clarifying that. Anyone else can read what you've said and what I've said here, that's enough for people to make their own minds up. If I wanted this kind of interaction I'd sign up for Twitter, but I don't, so I'm off. Feel free to bitch about me while I'm gone if it makes you feel better.

I only called by to say the young here are not impressed atall, and wanted to turn him off.

Its the youngsters here that are definite about him not being on our screens. They've already seen him online before he got a uk airing. So from us, its a no.

Justhadathought · 19/11/2019 23:16

the constantly offended, self-centred, victim mentality

Precisely!

As for analogies with Gormenghast.....? Baffled!

Justhadathought · 19/11/2019 23:18

I don't think you understand what 'troll' means, it doesn't mean to post something in disagreement with the feminist hive mind

What it means is to post for the sake of negative comment only, with no substantive points or ability/willingness to engage in purposeful and exploratory debate.

Justhadathought · 19/11/2019 23:19

*Seriously, I've looked through the app and can't find a way to hide an entire board, so if anyone knows feel free to PM me8

You can't hide it; just don't click on it.

Justhadathought · 19/11/2019 23:21

So what? Literally who cares?

You do, otherwise you wouldn't be here. It's like arguing with a petulant teenager.

Bluerussian · 19/11/2019 23:21

I've never seen it, doesn't interest me but I know Michelle who has just been eliminated from Strictly is involved in some way. Can't say I cared for her very much (though to be fair most of her dancing was excellent).

thefluffysideofgrey · 20/11/2019 06:43

@Justhadathought

No, a troll is wind up merchant. Someone who posts inflammatory bollocks just to get a reaction.

DuckWillow · 20/11/2019 08:23

I’m still a watcher although I am thinking about the ins and outs of it a bit more.

I have never watched RuPaul until this series in the UK. I’ve been quite taken with the bullying and hate some of these men have experienced for being gay which was very emotional viewing. I’m not gay but bullying is horrible and being bullied for something inherent is disgusting,

I’m still in the whole “drag has existed for a long time” . There’s always been caricatures in pantomimes etc . I see Drag as a form of that but no longer relegated to seasonal performances.

But this thread has definitely given me food for thought about it all.
