I imagine that plenty of people in Labour are self-identifying as Jewish in order to claim that they have experienced no anti-semitism in the party. And that the cis Jews are trying to make the party look bad.
And how is anyone to know the truth of the matter, when you are who you say you are?

This was a blog from last year when David Lewis stood as Woman on Wednesdays for a Women's Officer role at his CLP. And got suspended in super quick time. The author of the blog was able to do what most Labour members have been unable to - think things through.
"In short: Labour has, its eyes blinded by its laudable wish to support minorities of all kinds, just wandered into an area of utterly dubious logic and which could cause terrible and visible problems of a legal and constitutional nature, not to mention headlines that would just write themselves for tabloid newspaper editors".
And so it comes to pass.
