It's OK Gasp, my finger hovers between the "hide thread" button and the "flood with porn" button. It's always managed to come down on the right side so far.

FWR is really bad for this stuff. A discussion about the huge cross-over of trans Twitter profiles with dodgy anime avatars forced me google “hentai” (NSFW++) to fill a knowledge gap. Of course, I then had to show DH so he could see what had made me clutch my pearls so tightly. He’s still weirded out by it 18 months later.

I recall discovering what hentai was in my twenties and storing it away in my ick inner filing cabinet. Then my kids happened to be watching a music video a little while ago and my eyes were saucer wide as I recognized the hentai references and I said out loud "Hentai? Really?" and my eldest jumped out of her skin and said "How do you know what hentai is, mum?? I bet it's mumsnet."

Even my kids, who know I haven't always been a straight laced good girl, think I've been corrupted by MN.

Fairly sure MN have dealt with MRAs with this kind of 'attack' before. Its just pathetic, it really is. Why are they so desperate to shut us down? It looks to me to be pretty much exactly the same, same tactics, same attitudes, same people..as when F4J were obsessed with here.

HebeMumsnet This ban button you speak of, is it red, does it have one of those switch covers on it to prevent accidental banning.

I'm consumed with the need to know what the set up is at MNHQ. Is it all very techy and efficient like mission control and is there a countdown prior to the ban button being pressed or is there a lone MNHQ villain with a white cat, hidden down in the basement, enjoying their job as ban button pusher whilst manically laughing.

These are serious questions, I need answers.

PS I have stock piled pearls if things reach a crisis and am happy to scour second hand shops and auction houses for fainting couches if you let me know how many MNHQ is likely to need. I also have smelling salts in case anyone has an attack of the vapours.

Do smelling salts smell of ammonia, or have I just made that up? It's less romantic if somebody is basically wafting Brasso under your nose.
