Phoned up Dudley gyms as had sudden urge to get fit without a long contract.
“Yes, yes, the changing areas are sex separated”
“can men who say they are women use the female changing areas”
“its discriminatory not to allow this” “even if the Equality Act says it is acceptable to separate in changing areas”
“its discriminatory not to allow them in”
“even though they probably still have penises”
“its discriminatory not to allow this”
“what about discriminating against women and girls?”
“...”

Eloquent as ever, CharlieParley.

I could write reams describing my experience of male sexual aggression and physical violence.

I'll take things that never happened for 500.

Presume that's an American reference, because I don't recognize it. You believe what you want to. But you haven't earned any credibility on this thread so far, VeronicaDinner, so you're unlikely to persuade other posters.

zenasfuck · 07/05/2019 00:20

Dudley gyms as in Dudley council?

VeronicaDinner · 07/05/2019 00:23

If you believe someone with a special cheesecake recipe was washing period blood out of their knickers in the gym and was interrupted by a giant penis, I agree; you are beyond any attempts at reasoning.

FeministCat · 07/05/2019 00:49

If you believe sexual harassment and assault by trans women against girls and women never happens in change rooms, washrooms, prisons, baths, or other spaces that have gone to extend sex segregation to include “gender feels”, then we aren’t the ones beyond reasoning.

Interesting you refuse to respond to any of the actual cases discussed in this thread, including the statistics cited about where assaults happen. Oh wait, it’s not interesting, it’s just you think of you ignore it we will do the same.

This from the person who says men don't want to perve on women 🤣

No, the cases being the ones I and many others have referenced here already:

  1. Karen White
  2. The link to the Independent citing assault statistics
  3. The 10 year old girl assaulted in Scotland by a trans women
  4. JY who admits to wanting to “assist” girls with their tampons

Stop being deliberately ignorant.

VeronicaDinner · 07/05/2019 02:11

I was once molested by a woman at a party. Does that mean you are likely to molest me in a changing room? Does that mean I can never go into a public toilet or changing area in case another woman is in there? No it doesn't.

CharlieParley · 07/05/2019 02:12

FeministCat thank you for the links and for persisting. Would just like to say though that with someone whose very first comment on this thread as well as subsequent ones were typical of MRA attitudes and arguments and betrayed a profound lack of empathy for females, it may be a forlorn hope.

FeministCat · 07/05/2019 02:18

Oh I see, now you are changing the goal posts from “it never happens because my friends are lovely” to “well, okay, it happens, but women should suck it up and allow men access to their daughters and themselves; what’s an assaulted ten year old here or there for the sake of a man’s feelings?”

96% of people who sexually abuse children are male.

91% of victims of rape and sexual assault are female.

90% of perpetrators of sexual violence against women are men.

When men are victims of sexual assault (an estimated one in 71 men, and one in six boys), 93% reported their abuser was a man.

The. Problem. Is. Men.

FeministCat · 07/05/2019 02:20

I agree CharleyParley I am stopping as I think they are just a goady MRA as you suggest.

VeronicaDinner · 07/05/2019 02:22

No, I'm saying the chances of it happening are so vanishingly small that it's absolutely ludicrous to refuse to go to the gym because of it. I'm also saying that the suggestion that people who are trans are highly likely to be sex crazed maniacs rather than ordinary people wanting to live their lives in peace is massively offensive and untrue.

My final comment on this thread:

Only someone completely unfamiliar with autogynephelia, the numerous trans subs on reddit, and well, for that matter, the lesbian subs on reddit that have been taken over by trans women, would say that.

Datun · 07/05/2019 02:45

I'm also saying that the suggestion that people who are trans are highly likely to be sex crazed maniacs rather than ordinary people wanting to live their lives in peace is massively offensive and untrue

Which doesn't explain why, according to the MOJ, nearly half of all transwomen prisoners are sex offenders.

sackrifice · 07/05/2019 07:13

People who are men and are abusers, assaulters rapists and murderers seem to keep abusing, assaulting, raping and murdering women tho.

Until men can control themselves, and stop abusing, assaulting, raping and murdering; i'll not be sharing any spaces with them when I am in a fulnerable state thanks.

Why not pop along to a male dominated forum and tell them they need to work to stop male violence, instead of telling a femlae dominated one need to pretend it doesn't happen

Orchidoptic · 07/05/2019 07:13

zena yes. Glad I phoned them, rather than wasting my time thinking I could actually use a gym and took my kit down.

It’s weird you claim to be a woman but just don’t get it. It’s not just the fear of sexual assaults. We DO NOT WANT TO SEE NAKED MEN. We DO NOT WANT TO GET UNDRESSED IN FRONT OF MEN. We do not want to use mixed sex changing rooms.

MRA’s often like to tell women our fears are irrational or we think all men are rapists. If you don’t want to be accused of being one, don’t act like one.

titchy · 07/05/2019 07:58

If men are so lovely why don't TW want to share changing rooms with them? Hmm

StopThePlanet · 07/05/2019 08:07

VeronicaDinner

saying that the suggestion that people who are trans are highly likely to be sex crazed maniacs

I didn't say that... I actually said the individual did nothing to me except yell at me and chase me out of the locker room. It was intimidating and no I won't go back to that gym I'll go to another one - there's a wide selection here.

And yes some people have professional careers, have periods, go to the gym, AND bake cheesecakes!!!! The horror!!?!?!?! I play video games and love brussel sprouts too! SHOCKING!!! 🤣

Lamaha · 07/05/2019 08:45

I'll repeat what Jessica said above, with emphasis. I do not fear sexual assault. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE NAKED MEN. I DO NOT WANT TO GET UNDRESSED IN FRONT OF MEN. I do not want to use mixed sex changing rooms.

Do you get it now? Your brain seems slightly thick?
Also: one person boycotting the gym might not make a difference.
But it's a start. She can make her boycott public, tell other women the reason for it, get a movement going.

When 20, 50, 100 women boycott the gym you won't say it's ludicrous any more, and neither will the gym admin. Women can vote with their purses. We are no longer chattels, dependent on men for pocket money. We can CHOOSE what to pay for and what not.

When there is only one sort of gym customers, men in male and female clothing, maybe gyms will review their policies.
Ignore us at your peril.

Lamaha · 07/05/2019 08:49

also, if transwomen who ate ordinary people wanting to live their lives in peace then they should start a movement of their own for their own spaces, just as women did.

They cannot piggyback on the women's movement, grab the advantages, and turn around to lock women out and tell them what they should and should not accept. THAT is highly offensive.
Women do not want penises in their spaces. Full stop.

They cannot simply walk in after women have done all the work, and say "me too". It's hard work; do it.

Lamaha · 07/05/2019 08:50

God, sorry for shouting. But these men seem truly hard of hearing.
