She is having a really tough time on Twitter. Someone has also leaked a chat between some supportive MSPs. She is doing so much for us here in Scotland.

If anyone is reading this and thinking, what can I do. Send her a card to the Scottish Parliament. Their offices are glass. Show other MSPs as they walk by that she has huge support.

Please. It must be so hard for her and she is asking all the right questions and doing all the right things. Thanks.

I appreciate him trying to be supportive, but I do wish people would dispense with the idea of this as some trendy thought experiment with the real world consequences just being "issues of some interest and importance". Men not gaining access to women's refuges, jobs, prisons, hospitals, and sports is the point. If MtF people were considered women in the same way FtM people are considered men - i.e. "sure you can be a man - do you want to go to a male prison? Nope, cool. Compete in male sports? Oh you can't qualify, shame. Inherit a peerage? Sorry, computer says no. Continue to access IVF and give birth? Yeh sure, no biggie. Have a great day", in other words, just carry a meaningless legal title that changes nothing in the real world, then I doubt we'd have a problem with it. Then it'd just be a philosophical question of "some interest". But women are being raped in hospital and prison, harassed in homeless shelters, forced out of public spaces, jobs, and sports, and having barriers to education put in place so can we please stop with the leisurely afternoon debates and put a stop to it!

Nicola Sturgeon has just said in her speech at the SNP conference: “we will only be a truly rich society when we ensure that not a single man, woman or child has to rely on a food bank to eat - that is the prize of independence.”

Hot take: How disgustingly transphobic. What about folks who aren’t men, women or children? It’s OK for them to be forced to eat from food banks, etc etc.

Rhiannon Spear is a pompous arse.

Even away from this specific debate Rhiannon Spear is a consistently insufferable and vapid idiot. She's a wannabe though. Light years away from being sharp enough to spar with the big hitters.

Her bleating is nowhere near enough to cause alarm over this invitation. Well done, Joan.
