"I am conscious that I am involved in far more serious litigation arising out of the Mail on Sunday story featuring me on 10 February 2019 and the linked criminal investigation into Katherine Scottow. This must be my priority. The proceedings and investigation continue."

Knob.

Kate, let us help you, please.

Great news. Though I was looking forward a little bit to seeing Hayden being made a fool of in court.

If anyone's looking for Mother's Day presents, I can wholeheartedly recommend the complete Father Ted scripts:

Please tell me Hayden would have had to spend some money? Please?

Please screenshot the tweet, gloating about the expenses (I'm blocked, so can't). May be useful evidence of a history of abusive litigation if the golfing fantasist goes after another victim.

XXcstatic · 28/03/2019 19:54

abuse of litigation. Doubly hazardous to SH as a lawyer themselves.

brizzlemint · 28/03/2019 19:54

Excellent news.

OrchidInTheSun · 28/03/2019 19:55

That's great news! What a relief it must be for you and your family. SmileSmileSmile

Absolutepowercorrupts · 28/03/2019 19:57

Thanks for the info on the gloating tweet because I'm blocked.

Orwellianmince · 28/03/2019 19:59

Good idea-one of my children is buying me the book of scripts-just to make a statement. We had a great laugh reading Titania McGrath's "Woke" recently.

Hayden's statement:

PLEASE RT: Statement about Graham Linehan. Following discussions between the parties I can confirm that I have discontinued the High Court claim against Linehan.

On 22 March 2019 Linehan’s solicitors requested that I discontinued the legal action against him. A request was made to share the costs of the action on a 50/50 basis. This request was rejected by me.

Considering that Linehan had not repeated his conduct towards me I was happy to offer a ‘drop hands’ settlement on the basis that Linehan was responsible for 100% of his legal costs. It was made clear that Linehan’s conduct towards me was inappropriate on any analysis.

Graham Linehan incurred approximately £28,000 in legal costs. He has had to accept 100% responsibility for those costs. In other words Linehan’s tweets to me in late September 2018 cost him circa £28,000.

I am satisfied with the result of this litigation. Linehan has been given a very expensive lesson. That said Linehan’s conduct towards me since autumn last year has abated somewhat and I appreciate that.

I am conscious that I am involved in far more serious litigation arising out of the Mail on Sunday story featuring me on 10 February 2019 and the linked criminal investigation into Katherine Scottow. This must be my priority. The proceedings and investigation continue.

As such. I have drawn a line under my dispute with Linehan. I wish both Mr Linehan and his family well and hope that he can extend the same best wishes to the transgender community about which he tweets almost every single hour.

The matter is now closed. In conclusion I reiterate that Mr Linehan’s conduct towards me has cost him circa £28,000. Some very expensive tweets indeed. END

IStillMissBlockbuster · 28/03/2019 20:03

Did it really cost him that much?

TransposersArePosers · 28/03/2019 20:03

Noticeable to me are the lack of hash tags on SH's twitter feed, which is usually littered with them.

Saying that Glinner's tweets have cost him X amount makes it appear that he has had to pay damages, which isn't the case

GeordieGenes · 28/03/2019 20:08

Why did Glinner settle though? I’m sure he would have won if it had gone to court?

ToeToToe · 28/03/2019 20:08

Yes. Takes the heat off Hayden for basically dropping the case - which no doubt would have ended in Helen Islan style humiliation.

HaroldsSoCalledBluetits · 28/03/2019 20:08

Have we actually established that Hayden is a lawyer? Surely a criminal conviction would prevent that?

ToeToToe · 28/03/2019 20:08

Why did Glinner settle though?

He didn't.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 28/03/2019 20:10

Why did Glinner settle though?

Yeah he didn’t, SH dropped the case.

Find it hard to believe it cost £28,000 tbh

HaroldsSoCalledBluetits · 28/03/2019 20:10

Geordie I don't want to speak for glinner but going to court is incredibly expensive and stressful. If I were him and someone had sued me and then agreed to stop I'd certainly say yes.
