I stand with Harry.

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 26/03/2019 13:39

Oh, for heaven's sake.

He's hurt someone's feelings so he gets a call from the police? Nice to know that the police have so much time on their hands they can do this.

GerryblewuptheER · 26/03/2019 13:42

Ffs...

Harry I'm with you...

DpWm · 26/03/2019 13:43

Fuck...
Police...
State...
Here...
Now.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/03/2019 13:43

We are at a point now where we really need to record any interaction with government departments, agencies and public bodies.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/03/2019 13:45

Thiis is going to get much much worse before it gets any better.

dragoning · 26/03/2019 13:49

Massive police overreach. Scary stuff.

It is legal to say that transwomen are not women. How can this be a police matter?

TransposersArePosers · 26/03/2019 13:49

CaptainKirk I agree, but wondered why you mentioned 8 years as a time frame? (apologies if I am being dense)

TransposersArePosers · 26/03/2019 13:52

It is hurtful to TW to say that they are not women, but that surely isn't a police matter?

It is equally upsetting to be told as an actual woman, that 'woman' is merely a feeling and nothing to do with actual biological reality, but I have yet to hear of the police contacting people making those assertions. Is it because they aren't being reported, or is it because they aren't being followed up?

Bluestitch · 26/03/2019 13:54

I don't get what they are doing. They know this will be publicised and they know how badly it went for them last time- it destroyed their relationship with the public, who were angry and point blank refusing to help with their public appeals. It's already happening again on their twitter. Utter fools.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/03/2019 13:55

wondered why you mentioned 8 years as a time frame

That's about how long it took for the Nazi Party to rise from being a joke, to being in power.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/03/2019 14:00

Fuck me, that's horrifying!

I'm starting to feel genuinely scared about the way things seem to be going.

PreseaCombatir · 26/03/2019 14:00

What is wrong with these people?!? Angry

TransposersArePosers · 26/03/2019 14:08

I wish I hadn't asked - I am also feeling genuinely scared about the future

MockerstheFeManist · 26/03/2019 14:14

Code of Police Ethics, part 3.1:

You must:
• uphold the law regarding human rights
and equality
• treat all people fairly and with respect
• treat people impartially

www.college.police.uk/What-we-do/Ethics/Documents/Code_of_Ethics.pdf

Breach of the Code is a potentially actionable offence of Harrassment.

Lumene · 26/03/2019 14:14

Was this a phone call to follow up with a complaint Harry himself made?

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 26/03/2019 14:18

A police Officer can now ring someone because their political views ‘upsets’ certain communities?

So will Rachael McKinnon be telephoned about all the disgusting misogynistic comments that upset the female community?

Harry should talk to his MP. This is totally unacceptable.

Daughterofmabel · 26/03/2019 14:19

I want to tweet my support but worried in case they come after those who have done that.

PreseaCombatir · 26/03/2019 14:22

Was this a phone call to follow up with a complaint Harry himself made?

Yes, I’m pretty this was in response to his complaint... which is absolutely unbelievable

thatdamnwoman · 26/03/2019 14:25

What JessicaWakefield said.

When will the police phone everyone who has ever threatened to punch of kill or harm a GC woman (or man) and ask them why they are doing it because it causes offence? Are there enough police officers and enough phones and enough time in the world to do that?

Bluestitch · 26/03/2019 14:26

They need some PR lessons, this is not going down well. When even Stephanie Hayden thinks you are out of order maybe it's time to reflect.

Bluestitch · 26/03/2019 14:29

This is basically a senior police officer telling a member of the public that he shouldn't express opinions about a proposed law change on which the government has requested public opinion. Scary stuff.

JackyHolyoake · 26/03/2019 14:29

Inspector Wilson needs to be reported to the needs to be reported to the Police Complaints authority.

Humberside Police and Inspector Wilson need to recognise that no human can ever change sex; that there is no such thing as a male brain or a female brain; that people cannot be born in the "wrong* body.

End of.

If Humberside Police has incontrovertible scientific evidence to the contrary on any of those issues above, bring it on!

And maybe, just maybe, Humberside Police should educate itself about autogynephilia? Read Mumsnet pages written by the Trans Widows!

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 26/03/2019 14:31

Let me get this right: the police response to his complaint was to tell him off?

JackyHolyoake · 26/03/2019 14:36

Inspector Wilson makes Inspector Clouseau look like an intellectual of the highest order!

Humberside Police makes the Keystone Cops look like a competent police service!
