Just seen this on Twitter.

twitter.com/ruth_hunt/status/1098604129394585601?s=21

I’d like to think her successor will be less homophobic. We shall see, although I’m not holding out much hope.

DoctoressPlague YY, thank you.

Jan Gooding getting some flack for saying support suing Glinner and very little support given her profile.

Stonewall will not be changing direction

So Ruth Hunt as CEO was personally liked, increased income and changed the charity's remit to focus on lobbying trans-ideology which are the confirmed as being the aims of the board?

Which makes it more mysterious why she's leaving with nothing obvious to go to.

DoctoressPlague · 24/02/2019 19:35

This happens to so many charities. The focus shifts from sustaining the charity to expansion for the sake of "growth", and people lose sight of the organisation's original focus and broader societal role. Stonewall has gone from campaigning for equal rights for LGB to campaigning for special rights for the T. It's heartbreaking and infuriating.

according to his twitter profile, Anthony Watson is lead LGBT+ advisor to Labour?

I'm sure she has both options and plans, just not made public.

The timing is odd. I would have expected her to stick around until the results of the GRA consultation are published.

somethings going on. I think reading between the lines Janice Turner and others know more than is being said.

Trousering · 24/02/2019 20:11

Just noticed that "see you in court" stuff going on with Anthony Watson.

He is apparantly going to "prove" that Glinner is a person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions. (a bigot).

Trans supporters are the most intolerant people I have ever read or listened to! It won't work out the way Watson thinks it will!

Trousering · 24/02/2019 20:13

twitter.com/AnthonyWatson/status/1099745728233115648

Watson is saying he won't tolerate Glinner saying what he thinks, therefore Glinner is intolerant... headspinnning stuff.

RedToothBrush · 24/02/2019 20:17

Agree with this.

Turner is DEFINITELY biting tongue about something. I also think Gilligan is too.

Question: who leaked the Tavistock report? We don't know, but I think it's important context. I could be wildly off but my gut senses think that report is more significant than we currently are aware of.

Something is brewing.

I note the Observer also having that story on the front page today too. (I believe it's the first time the subject has been cover of the left wing press and the tone and content of the article isn't woke.) The Observer is separate to the Guardian but only to a point.

R0wantrees · 24/02/2019 20:19

Maybe Mr Watson is hoping to apply for CEO Stonewall?

RedToothBrush · 24/02/2019 20:19

A court case on free speech would be very interesting indeed...

Popchyk · 24/02/2019 20:19

Is this the same Anthony Watson who paid £14K for Dawn Butler (Labour MP and Shadow Women and Equalities Minister) to attend an awards ceremony in LA?

order-order.com/2018/05/29/dawn-butlers-14000-la-jolly-paid-for-by-blairite-guru/

R0wantrees · 24/02/2019 20:25

Popchyk looks like its the same.

from link above:
"Top Corbynista Shadow Cabinet member Dawn Butler lived it up on a £14,000 nine-day junket to Los Angeles paid for by a Blairite guru whose company was incorporated in the Cayman Islands. Butler, who has gained something of a reputation for enjoying the high life since taking a job in Jeremy Corbyn’s top team, jetted off to LA last month, where she mingled with the stars on the red carpet at the GLAAD Awards.
Dawn was taken to LA by Anthony Watson..." (continues)

Feels like the big players behind the trans cult are being forced out into the spotlight.

Because they know that that they are not winning the PR game with the public.

Jan Gooding of Stonewall and Anthony Watson squabbling with Glinner on Twitter shows that they are rattled.

Wonder who else will step out of the shadows?

adultFemaleElf · 24/02/2019 20:37

They are behaving like children on that twitter spat. I can’t believe idiots like these people wield power and influence.

RedToothBrush · 24/02/2019 20:38

Think about this carefully:

Listen for the silence.

People will make a lot of noise if something is up.

But the thing to look for is not what is being said but what is not being said. And by whom.

Sounds silly, but the principle is really useful to spot what's really going on.

R0wantrees · 24/02/2019 20:40

GLAAD is interesting...

'GLAAD rewrites the script for LGBTQ acceptance. As a dynamic media force, GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change. GLAAD protects all that has been accomplished and creates a world where everyone can live the life they love.'

R0wantrees · 24/02/2019 20:41

But the thing to look for is not what is being said but what is not being said. And by whom.

Sounds silly, but the principle is really useful to spot what's really going on.

Not at all silly.

Trousering · 24/02/2019 20:42

I just looked up Watson's company emplyee reviews on Glassdoor. If you don't know the site take a look.

I worked for a fintech start up for a while. The shitty reviews were completely true. The CEO hired a PR firm to post positive ones...just saying....

A really clear statement of the issues. Thanks Jonny. In summary, as you say, “The issues which complicate the relationships between lesbian and gay people and trans people need to be examined and discussed, free from accusations of transphobia”

Like the people who aren't currently tweeting (or retweeting) in support of 11-year-old Desmond's right to dance for money in gay bars?

Stonewall co-founder Michael Cashman backs gay rights group’s ‘trans’ agenda as prominent supporter withdraws support

Michael Cashman has been consistant in his support for gay men and trans rights (not so keen on women's rights for lesbians/females)

Maybe she will give an interview to the Guardian.

A bit like Sophie Walker's interview after she quit - talked a lot round the houses about politics 'being broken' but didn't mention the elephant in the room, or why she actually, really quit.
