Taken from their website:
"Our mission is to end the rampant homophobia and transphobia in sport and to activate the athletic community to exercise their leadership to champion LGBTQ equality".
And surprise, Rachel Mckinnon is an ambassador.

The most famous lesbian athlete removed. Shows how important they think harassment of lesbians is.

GGMummy3 · 19/02/2019 23:25

I hope she loses no sleep over it, she shouldn't, and likely won't! The majority of the population agree with her and so does science.

HawayMan · 19/02/2019 23:34

So she was an advisor, but she's been removed for not doing as they told her? Confused

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 19/02/2019 23:49

" There is no evidence at all that the average trans woman is any bigger, stronger, or faster than the average cisgender woman."

Seriously, that's what they have said in their statement.

Do I laugh or cry?

thenightsky · 19/02/2019 23:59

So she was an advisor, but she's been removed for not doing as they told her?

Fucking whitewash. They don't want to be advised of anything. Ignorant twats.

NotTerfNorCis · 20/02/2019 00:03

There is no evidence at all that the average trans woman is any bigger, stronger, or faster than the average cisgender woman.

Oh really? Do they shrink on transition? Even when the transition is purely social? Magic.

AtrociousCircumstance · 20/02/2019 00:06

Jesus Christ. Fucking insanity. Martina thank you for speaking out!

LizzieSiddal · 20/02/2019 00:10

Bloody hell, poor Martina. I hope she doesn’t care too much. It may make her speak out even more, just to show them she gives no shits. Alternatively it may make her too afraid to say anything else. (We all know what side the BBC are on.)

AornisHades · 20/02/2019 00:13

Jeez. How many of their 'advisors' have the experience and international respect of Martina Navratilova?

Jenny17 · 20/02/2019 00:22

There is no evidence at all that the average trans woman is any bigger, stronger, or faster than the average cisgender woman

This could only have been bettered by adding a pic of McKinnon on the rostrum next to 2 females.

frazzled1 · 20/02/2019 00:29

There is no evidence at all that the average trans woman is any bigger, stronger, or faster than the average cisgender woman.

God I'm hoping that it's this sort of rampant delusion that will strengthen her resolve.

It's too, too insane to think you are anything other than 100 percent right.

DoctoressPlague · 20/02/2019 01:21

Yeah, that batshit statement just goes to show how widespread the delusion is. It needs to be tackled and talked about. Thank you Martina [flower]

emerencealwayshopeful · 20/02/2019 01:28

Well, they certainly don't think the L belongs in their organisation. I'd appreciate them stating that fact outright because this dancing around they are engaging in might not make it obvious enough to the women who think they are represented.

FloralBuntingIsObnoxious · 20/02/2019 01:58

Insomnia is an interesting place right now. Piers Morgan has called this bunch bullies and fully supports Martina, and India Willoughby, yes, India of we are the Nuremberg Rally fame, has tweeted in response to him, also in support of Martina.

Things about to get really nuts, women. Buckle up.

Lolasaurous · 20/02/2019 02:17

Crazy

Lolasaurous · 20/02/2019 02:22

"There is no evidence at all that the average trans woman is any bigger, stronger, or faster than the average cisgender woman."

who are they talking about though? Someone who been on 'treatment' since a kid, someone as an adult who been on 'treatment' for 2 weeks, or 10 years, or someone that simply self identifies and has no 'treatment'.

Female and male versions of the same sports have differences, must be for a reason?

NotBadConsidering · 20/02/2019 02:22

There is no evidence at all that the average trans woman is any bigger, stronger, or faster than the average cisgender woman

Why is the onus always on people like Martina to prove there IS a difference, and not on the people who make batshit statements like this to prove there is NOT a difference? 99.999% of the world can see a difference because we have eyes, so prove how we are wrong. With real science. Prove to us the Emperor is wearing clothes.

80sMum · 20/02/2019 02:35

The world has gone completely mad! You're right NotBadConsidering, it's exactly like the story of the emperor's new clothes.

What does cisgender mean, by the way? I've never heard that term before.

NotBadConsidering · 20/02/2019 02:46

I think cisgender means “not special”, but it could mean something completely different now compared to 2 hours ago.

everythingisbetterafteranap · 20/02/2019 02:48

Cisgender reads to me as cigarettes or cissy. Cissy cigarettes? Not at all helpful, but it's nearly 3am

SignMeUp · 20/02/2019 03:12

Today is the first time I have cried with white hot rage. Now I'm losing hope

TurboTeddy · 20/02/2019 05:05

How is this possible? Martina's comments were widely supported on social media. The Guardian was the only publication I saw that did not support her and interestingly did not allow comments on the article; presumably because they knew their readership would not agree with them.

It's so batshit I'm starting to wonder if what I think of as reality is actually a serious mental health problem. My lived experience is that nearly every man I've ever met is taller and heavier than me, I've never run or cycled faster than a man of similar age and no man has ever asked for my help lifting something heavy when other men have been available to help. This is a simple acceptance of the biological differences between the sexes. What am I missing here?

A friend recently bought me Vox by Christina Falconer, I reported back to them that 5 years ago I would have thought it an interesting work of fiction but in the current climate it was actually a terryfying read because women were already being silenced. This from Google books,

Jean McClellan spends her time in almost complete silence, limited to just one hundred words a day. Any more, and a thousand volts of electricity will course through her veins. Now the new government is in power, everything has changed. But only if you're a woman......^

The Guardian described it as overblown feminist dystopia but it's looking more real everyday.

TurboTeddy · 20/02/2019 05:06

That's Christina Dalcher but autocorrect decided differently and I didn't notice!
