Taken from their website:
"Our mission is to end the rampant homophobia and transphobia in sport and to activate the athletic community to exercise their leadership to champion LGBTQ equality".
And surprise, Rachel Mckinnon is an ambassador.

These male bodied athletes are doing a massive damage to women athletes and womem in general and to trans people on general, IMHO!

They are making more and more enemies of the womem and others who could and would support general trans rights to safety etc.

And they are doing this, IMHO, because they are selfish entitled males - not because they are great athletes; in fact, quite the opposite.

TurboTeddy · 20/02/2019 20:49

@Datun You are absolutely right many people still don't know what is happening. I was feeling very dispirited this morning. I took the dog for a very long walk and came home to find a Martina has a hashtag and other female sporting champions coming out to support her, which is very encouraging.

There is no time for me to indulge depression over this, raising awareness is essential. I have ordered stickers and will get to work as soon as they arrive. My little part of the world will be in no doubt what woman means 😁

Courday · 20/02/2019 20:59

It is a relief to see.
And just think if RM had not behaved so badly towards Martina she would have left this well alone. This has been a spectacular and marvelous to see own goal by McKinnon.

Everyone needs to do their research on this issue. Martina has opened up a very important and complex issue of transgender competition. There are solid arguments for both sides. I am continuing my research!

Courday · 20/02/2019 21:20

Chrissie will get splinters if she sits on that fence too long.

Lottapianos · 20/02/2019 21:22

'There are solid arguments for both sides.'

Well that's total horseshit. You're right Courday, she needs to get off that fence!

Datun · 20/02/2019 21:28

Well done TurboTeddy.

This is a merry go round. Keep perspective. The sun still shines, the dog's ears need tickling, food gets bought and bills get paid.

This is a long fight.

And I will never give up.

Vixxxy · 20/02/2019 22:59

There are solid arguments for both sides.

A few seem to be saying this, yet I have seen no solid argument at all that says its fair for male people to compete against female ones. Apart from that one biased and flawed 'study' of course, self reported results from a whole seven MtF trans people Hmm Of course that erases the thousands of studies on how...men have an advantage over women

MrsTerryPratcett · 20/02/2019 23:35

If this is true... where are all the transman basketball players on the LA Lakers squad, or heavyweight boxers, or sprinters, grabbing all the medals?

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 20/02/2019 23:43

There are solid arguments for both sides.

Only one side has science and facts which stand up to scrutiny. When people say this it is generally on their way to peaking - it means they are looking at the arguments and are scared of speaking out against the woke.

Martina herself said I think that as she'd done the research, it had confirmed her concerns about fairness rather than dismissing them. More scrutiny and analysis is only ever going to help the GC viewpoint on this.

MsTSwift · 21/02/2019 07:06

There are “solid arguments” for one side the other not so much...

zanahoria · 21/02/2019 07:45

Well at least Chris Evert and Billie Jean King are saying there should be a debate, when TRAs are hollering 'no debate' this is welcome. We have nothing to fear from science and reasoned arguments. Athlete Ally with their absurd claim that transwomen are no bigger than women are on very shaky grounds.

MillytantForceit · 21/02/2019 08:02

Been having a gander at the Paralympic Charter.

The mission of Paralympic sport is to help 'athletes with impairment' acheive excellence.

Are trans-athletes impaired, when by their own admission, they are born in the 'wrong' body?

It think it's worth exploring.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 21/02/2019 08:05

The clue is in the name: anything that uses the word "ally" is going to prioritise trans over everything else, including common sense.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 21/02/2019 08:07

'There are solid arguments for both sides.'

I'm still waiting to hear a solid argument. You know, one that is based on science but not hurty feelz.

I suspect I will be waiting a long time.

FamilyOfAliens · 21/02/2019 08:09

Maybe Chrissie would take a less ambiguous stance if she had daughters who were likely to get involved in competitive sport.

Courday · 21/02/2019 08:23

So you have missed all the tweets from transwomen claiming they can no longer open jars?
Surely that is as definitive as any study, after all no women can open a jar.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 21/02/2019 08:45

In my experience, people who say that There are solid arguments for both sides are mostly still swayed by the 'be nice to poor oppressed trans people' argument. The TRAs usually take care of that argument for us.

Vixxxy · 21/02/2019 11:53

So you have missed all the tweets from transwomen claiming they can no longer open jars?

Oh yes, from strong as an ox to fragile little flowers after a dose of HRT. Also..(possibly more maddening) cannot drive as well as they could Hmm

Vixxxy · 21/02/2019 11:55

The TRAs usually take care of that argument for us.

Thats true. Posting there are good arguments on both sides, speaking generaly..leads to a lot of women saying basically 'thanks for looking into this, please keep reading'...and TRAs with the 'terf terf terf, DIAF, there are no arguments in favour of science...one study of 7 transwomen shows that all previous science is wrong! TERF.'. Which tends to cement the way that person is going to sway to..

So yeah, own worst enemies really.

Provincialbelle · 21/02/2019 11:56

Ok so if there’s no difference between a man in a dress and a woman, that’s the end of all women’s top level sports. And if someone thinks it’s ok for a biological Male to bash a woman to a pulp in boxing then there is something very psychologically wrong with them

Kettleon80 · 21/02/2019 20:05

*So you have missed all the tweets from transwomen claiming they can no longer open jars?

Oh yes, from strong as an ox to fragile little flowers after a dose of HRT. Also..(possibly more maddening) cannot drive as well as they could*

wtf? Please tell me this is a joke.

SpeakUpXXWomen · 21/02/2019 20:07

Does anyone have a share token for this Kirkup wisdom please?

www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2019/02/21/martina-navratilova-serving-sense-gender/

FermatsTheorem · 21/02/2019 20:12

The Telegraph doesn't do share tokens, unfortunately.

It's pretty similar in tone to Gilligan's piece in the Times - points out that Navratilova has been a spokesperson for minorities for decades and one of the most respected tennis players and out lesbians in the world. That she had Renee Richards as a coach. That she's asking common sense questions and that it's insanity to suppress the asking of those questions. That transgender and transsexual are different and most transgender people identifying as women keep their tackle. Mentions the Karen White scandal.

Most refreshingly, the few BTL comments I looked at were sympathetic to women's concerns (so far, typically when the Telegraph has covered this issue, the BTL comments have been "what jolly japes - the feminist people's front of Judea and trans Judean people's front are at each other's throats, the left is eating itself...")

SpeakUpXXWomen · 21/02/2019 20:16

Applause, the tide has turned!

Thanks for that Smile
