Now I'm totally GC and think the way they have behaved in the past is vile (along with the Dr who shall not be named) but the amount of abuse they are receiving is truly horrific.

Some of the responses are abhorrent 'die tr@*^y scum' - no one deserves that. I really hope they lose the case and civil action but it really upsets me that they are receiving such abuse.

I saw a reference to Fat tones but I don't know what they were talking about.

Katvonfelttipeyebrows · 12/02/2019 08:28

.............Their horrible bullying actions have made the whole of the trans community more vulnerable I fear. This is what Miranda and Debbie were worried about all along.

I can't feel sorry for SH, not after reading about all the threats to women on this site. They've all been well documented. I'd take a nasty comment on Twitter rather than a direct threat to turn up at my home.

This is where I'm conflicted because I think they have behaved disgustingly, really truly awfully but the pile on from Trump Jr MAGA supporters is just horrid.

It might be my female socialisation that makes me care.

They are indeed. This is what gets me about the whole t*rf war thing. We've been blamed for all the evils, when actually we just wanted female rights protecting..... yet out there was the whole nasty right wing. They choose to ignore that. We are easier targets.

Katvonfelttipeyebrows · 12/02/2019 08:39

It's not wrong to care.

Those Twitter posts by AH and SH are very sinister. Basically allusions to violence (SH's conviction for attacking someone with a golf club) against a specific person (suggested by location and a particular building).

happydappy2 · 12/02/2019 08:43

I think it’s a good wake up call to SH and others, that if you behave despicably there are consequences.
For goodness sake look at how women just wanting to protect our rights are labelled t*rfs. We are under attack but are just supposed to accept it.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2019 08:45

I don't do twitter so haven't seen what you're referring to, but I fully agree that no-one should be subjected to abuse of the 'die xxxxx scum' variety.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 12/02/2019 08:46

I know, the veiled threats were horrid and they themselves should have questioned by the police.

I just hate the right wing prats that are joining in, not because they care about women or free speech just to be vile.

I don't know, I feel that our cause is getting lost in the sea of abuse and we will be affiliated with it when it couldn't be further from the truth.

terfsandwich · 12/02/2019 08:47

What about "die cis scum"? Many TRAs feel that that is a perfectly reasonable slogan.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 12/02/2019 08:50

Oh I agree, we have been subject to a lot of vile abuse, constantly - I guess my point is the old cliched 'two wrongs doesn't make it right'.

I just can't condone or accept the amount and content of the abuse they are receiving from horrid right wing arseholes who don't even give a shit about women they just hate anyone who doesn't fit their idea of normal.

dragoning · 12/02/2019 08:53

I would be amazed if GC women were doling out those insults and threats. But yes, there is no place for it.

Who is throwing insults at him? Is this a deliberate attempt to slur women so they can say 'look, they do it too!' ?

dragoning · 12/02/2019 08:55

Cross posted. I see it's right wing men. They can speak for themselves and it's not a good look.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 12/02/2019 08:55

Oh no it's not GC women AT ALL. It's mainly American MAGA men, that's what I mean - it's making our message get lost.

They are hating them because they are trans no other reason.

OP posts:
HawayMan · 12/02/2019 08:56

I agree that it's uncalled for and childish. Nobody deserves verbal abuse.

TimeLady · 12/02/2019 08:59

I recall warnings posted on here by seasoned MN FWR members that once the TRAs attracted the attentions of the right wing MRAs, then they would really have a problem.

And so it came to pass. They're all males, slugging it out amongst themselves, as males do the world over.

Personally, I don't care.

ScipioAfricanus · 12/02/2019 09:01

Those horrible comments are absolutely reprehensible.

It’s the TRAs who have tried to muddy the waters by linking GC feminists with right wingers and saying that a comment querying gender as a concept is transphobic/hurtful/violent/hate speech as opposed to actual comments which do meet the definition of hate speech.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 12/02/2019 09:02

Oh you're right Time, and I guess it is their own doing.

OP posts:
Alltheprettyseahorses · 12/02/2019 09:03

It's not nice but they've done far worse themselves. Not words on a screen but actual deeds. I'll reserve my sympathy for those who need/deserve it.

Ereshkigal · 12/02/2019 09:05

And so it came to pass. They're all males, slugging it out amongst themselves, as males do the world over.

This. If you go on Twitter and look at any mainstream media post about an MTF trans person, these comments are extremely common. From men. TRAs never challenge them. They only go after women and male allies to women. Because it's about control, rather than challenging actual transphobia. And as we know, they do so viciously.

Ereshkigal · 12/02/2019 09:10

And yes we should resist them pinning it on women for daring to speak up. It's not our fault that the majority of the population doesn't subscribe to their ideology or believe that they are women.

hackmum · 12/02/2019 09:10

I'm afraid the person who identifies as a lawyer is entirely the author of their own misfortune. They reported a perfectly innocent woman who had been engaging in legitimate criticism to the police, who held her for seven hours. As a result they are now having abuse hurled at them by people who really are nasty pieces of work. And there is nothing they can do about it because those nasty pieces of work are in the US. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Ereshkigal · 12/02/2019 09:11

Right wing men in the US are very proud that they have freedom of speech. They are laughing at the UK over this, not just Steph and friends.
