The lawyer who shall not be named

Now I'm totally GC and think the way they have behaved in the past is vile (along with the Dr who shall not be named) but the amount of abuse they are receiving is truly horrific.

Some of the responses are abhorrent 'die tr@*^y scum' - no one deserves that. I really hope they lose the case and civil action but it really upsets me that they are receiving such abuse.

I won't be losing any sleep over this. Women are often expected to show sympathy to the men who've abused them.

BettyDuMonde · 12/02/2019 14:09

I don't know whether that makes me a better person or a mug?

6 of one, half dozen of the other, as my Nan would say!

Oh no, waffle doggy 🤣😭😂
I'm like that after a pint... x

I'm afraid the person who identifies as a lawyer is entirely the author of their own misfortune.

The Lawyer Who Must Not Be Named gets no sympathy from me.

HamiltonCork · 12/02/2019 15:42

The lawyer who cannot be named can pursue this through the legal channels. It’s what they usually do.

Melroses · 12/02/2019 16:05

I am blocked from the Lawyer's twitter anyway, as are most GC women who have had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the person at any time.

Maybe they need a better Terfblocker?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 12/02/2019 16:20

What was it Harrap said to a GC woman who was getting death threats, something about hoping she had learnt a lesson, a challenging yet valuable lesson?

TimeLady · 12/02/2019 16:20

They're not using the usual Terfblocker, as I can see their tweets (not that I generally bother)

If you're going to be an Important Current Affairs Commentator, blocking your account makes little sense.

Melroses · 12/02/2019 16:24

This person now has their own thread on kiwi farms, and they are not nice there.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 12/02/2019 16:29

I must pay KF a visit tonight to see what the Farmers have to say about The Lawyer Who Must Not Be Named. And BalldeMort.

catkind · 12/02/2019 16:47

Actual transphobia exists and is horrible. One of the reasons I get so cross about the labelling of GC views as "transphobia", "hate speech" etc. It covers up the scale of real thing. X% of trans people say they have been subject to transphobia is now a meaningless statistic because we have no idea what proportion of trans people consider the acknowledgement of sex existing to be transphobic. Cry wolf.

R0wantrees · 12/02/2019 17:04

Males demonstrating bullying, threatening behaviour?
Yes, should always be taken seriously, named for what it is and challenged.

(makes no odds the sexual preference or gender identity, male-pattern attempted control and abuse is what's happening)

Claims they are suing the Daily Mail Confused If the DM put their story in the newspaper, bearing in mind they are very very au fait with injunctions from famous millionaires etc...…..I think they may have this covered already ? Grin

hackmum · 13/02/2019 13:01

Looking forward to this one, Melroses. Whose chances do you fancy? The rich, powerful newspaper with the most expensive and prestigious libel lawyers at its disposal, or a semi-literate thug with a criminal record and a string of failed businesses?

Answers on a postcard...

PenguindreamsofDraco · 13/02/2019 13:02

I like how the unnamed one tweets a photo from the unnamed doctor which makes him look entirely sane and normal and entirely to be trusted

LauraMipsum · 13/02/2019 13:11

Penguin yes, I always take sociological and medical advice seriously from Gussie Fink-Nottle.

Melroses · 13/02/2019 13:18

When you look at photos like that, you begin to wonder whether it is all someone's post-modern performance art homework.

I am backing the DM - saw mentioned elsewhere that they could hire a cislawyer but I expect their strength (and weakness)lies with not playing by the rules LOL

Iused2BanOptimist · 13/02/2019 13:25

So the social media break excludes sending updates to his bff to broadcast on his behalf? Grin

PenguindreamsofDraco · 13/02/2019 13:34

It only identifies as a social media break, it isn't actually one.

Iused2BanOptimist · 13/02/2019 13:43

Mumfun · 13/02/2019 13:49

Good to discuss this OP. And yes you are a decent normal person who does care. I think there are some important principles at stake. Noone should get death threats. Free speech is important and should not be curtailed unless death threats or something similar. And the lawyer seems quite chipper on twitter today so I wouldn't worry about them. I do however worry about the decent law abiding TW who may start to get backlash from this. We should be careful to support and prioritise them especially if they start to get grief. And I continue to be more concerned about women generally who are subject to the same level of mental health issues as TW , have to deal with actual sex based disadvantages every day of their lives and sadly are more likely to be subject to violence intimidation and death

Rogueaccountant · 13/02/2019 18:32

What’s that TV show about an Irish woman and some boys?

The lawyer who shall not be named
OdeToDiazepam · 13/02/2019 18:55

As much as I dislike tra's which is a lot

I don't want anyone, even haddock, feeling unsafe or getting physically harmed or called scum or told to die.

LangCleg · 13/02/2019 18:56

We should be careful to support and prioritise them especially if they start to get grief.

I'm too busy prioritising women.
